Perfect for my needs

This was ideal for my needs, the room was a single, most importantly it was clean, it had good facilities, decent TV, beverage making facilities, good lighting, warm, breakfast was very nice, plentiful and many choices, free WIFI also. I paid £86 I think that is good value for central london, although in central london, it is situated in a lovely quiet georgian terrace

Good place, well located

I stayed at the Harlingford for one night, it is a decent place and good value. The room that I stayed in was small but clean and fine. Staff are courteous and efficient. The breakfast was a surprise - really good. The Harlingford is brilliantly located for Russell Square, Holborn & St Pancras. Overall a great stay, thank you.

A great hotel in a good location, would definately recommend!

Lovely character hotel in a great location (a 5 minute walk to Kings Cross/Euston stations). The area has lots of character and is within walking distance of central London. The hotel was very clean, staff were welcoming (although I had to wait to check in as the one receptionist was on the phone for a while). Breakfast was also very good. I stayed in a single room and thought it was well priced. I would definately stay here again!

Didn't get to eat breakfast as it didn't start until 7.30.
Room was at top of narrow staircase on 4th floor and was a very small single. I am a fit 63 year old but would have struggled with a heavier suitcase.
Couldn't get Wifi to work-receptionist tried to help but he said it was my laptop -no problems before or on train home.

Lovely hotel - only problem was our room was under the kitchen and dining room which had a wooden floor so from early on there was the constant noise of people going up and down stairs above us.
Would stay there again but request a different room.

Harlingford

I had a small single room on the very top floor of the building - to be honest the only down side was indeed the stairs which as you rise up through the floors become steeper and narrower. Everything was great, very attentive staff both on reception and particularly at breakfast service. Three dirty towels were left at my door on arrival following check-in and remained there through the night of my stay and were still there on departure - a small but perhaps relevant observation.

An okay hotel

The trip was fine and the hotel in a good location. Things were fine just a bit tired. My carpet had trodden in chewing gum and the bin in the bathroom hadn't been changed since the last occupant. It wasn't great but it certainly wasn't awful.

Small but perfectly formed!

Fresh and stylishly furnished hotel in a great central location, offering fantastic value for money. My single room was very small but comfortable but at £85 for a room in London it was great value. Breakfast was lovely with sufficient choice and friendly service. My one complaint is that the shower in my room was very poor. There was barely more than a trickle of water. It could have been because of poor water pressure on the top floor but it did make washing my hair out of the question.

Excelent welcome: calm and relaxed breakfast atmosphere

Felt room a little chilly - although I did not look for controlls: the Bed Cover was soft and cosy
because floors 'wooded' other guests did not consider the lower floor - thus a times a little noisy
Am a non smoker - lower window - affected by passing footfall - smoke drifts in - for info - as need a window open.
Bathroom lovely save for bin had not been cleaned - an essential area to address
a little something with coffee provided is useful for those of us leaving work in West - straight on a train to London adds to the welcome
Corridor to lower rooms could of been tidier - especially when considering Fire Exits
Next time I hope to see more of the Hotel

Good and Bad room 34

We arrived on the friday and was given a superior room at the back of the hotel. It was at the top but this was not the problem. The bed was only a MDF frame that leaned to one side like the floor that made me feel I was at sea. It was very bad and made a noise every time you turned over. There where no drawers to put socks or pants just a very small corner cupboard that didn't shut. The TV was so high up you can't see it in bed because at that angle and hight the picture is not clear.
The dinning room was well layed out and the service was good The presentation and lay out of food was fine apart from, we asked for full English no beans came with the meal when they came on another plate my wife had finished her breakfast. On the second day they came but were stone cold There where times also when people were stood near the food delivery door and where nocked by staff coming through with hot food and at least twice in our time staff where nocked an accident waiting to happen.
Overall a nice hotel very disapointed in my room which I specially paid extra for the bigger bed. I would stay again but not in that room

Clean & comfortable and really quiet.

Very brief stay, and couldn't fault it. Arrived very late, no problem. Due to our late arrival I would have liked the option of a later breakfast on Sunday (finishes at 9.30am) but that's all, and the breakfast itself was great. Excellent location, and the quietest hotel I've stayed in in London.

Tiny room for a tiny budget

For a place that's very close to the King's Cross station, Harlingford is relatively cheap. One downside of the hotel is the size of the room. It can only fit the bed, a luggage, and you! It's good enought for a backpacker staying in london for 1 or 2 nights who is uncomfortable of choosing a hostel.

Good Value Clean Room and Pleasant Stay

I needed accommodation near the Holiday Inn, Bloomsbury where I was attending a course, that wouldn't cost as much. I was travelling alone so didn't want to have to walk far between the Holiday Inn and the hotel I chose. This was only a few minutes down the road and also within 15 mins walk of St Pancras Station.
The single room I had was perfectly adequate in size with an ensuite shower and toilet. The room was clean and well kept. The breakfast had a reasonable choice including cereals and fruit and a choice of cooked breakfast (don't go by the menu pictures as it looked like the full breakfast included baked beans and 2 slices of fried bread and it came with one slice and no beans. The description on the other side of the menu was correct though). I would definitely use this hotel again if staying in the area.
The only downside was my room was on the 4th floor and the last flight of stairs were very narrow so if you have trouble getting up and down stairs or have a particularly heavy suitcase it would be a bit challenging!

A Bloomsbury gem

There was a warm, friendly atmosphere in this hotel that made me feel immediately at home. The staff seemed happy to work there too, which is always a good sign. The single room I stayed in was compact, but had everything I needed (though larger guests might find it a squeeze...) The hotel has been recently refurbished, and you can feel the care they've taken: colour schemes that don't make your eyes water, bathrooms that make you want to linger. The breakfast was a star turn. Still hankering after their bacon days after returning home. There's a student residence just up Marchmont Street and they occasionally kick off, so the rooms at the back are quieter (and south-facing, so they get any sunlight that's on offer). There were occasional glitches with the wifi, but any problems were addressed promptly and staff rang you back to say that things were working again. A very professionally run hotel.

Glad I found this place..

At £75 for B&B in London I was pleasantly suprised. The small-ish clean, comfortable room looked fairly recently decorated. Friendly staff, decent breakfast, all freeview TV channels, free wi-fi. You could easily go to somewhere else very close, pay double the money and get a poorer quality experience. A minor criticism (that could have been major, depending on who else was in the hotel) is that the sound insulation was pretty poor in my room - I could see light from the corridor around 3 sides of the door and hear people talking quietly outside very clearly.
