Excellent & convenient hotel

A very quiet hotel, well built & therefore no noise from the next room. Well decorated, clean . Good helpful staff. Very convenient location only 200 yards from the South Kensington tube station. Only 10 minutes walk to both the Natural History Museum and the Victoria & Albert Museum, and only 20 minutes from the Albert Hall - all at a steady pace. There are several good restaurants within 500 yards of the hotel, which does not serve evening meals. Will stay there again.

Room 105

Carpet had not been vacumed. Kettle was very dangerous as the lid flew off when pouring boiling water, this I reported to reception. Shower head was discusting, so much so we did not shower the day of leaving. Room badely needed updating. Breakfast cornflakes were very strange, nothing like we had tasted before, buffet was only luke warm. Bar was closed on Sunday so had to go out in the pouring rain to have a drink. Staff however were very pleasant.

Great location, dated

The hotel was what I expected, an outdated grand hotel. Hotel was clean and an enourmous room. The breakfast was fine but self catering style, under heated lights which I don't like

Room was OK

Its easy to be critical but the room was good value and provided accomodation. Breakfast was good. WIFIO was not free despite being told it was. Room clean but showing age. We would use it again. Great location.

Grovener stay

I was quite happy with the hotel ,
the hotel needs to sort out car parking for customers as i had to pay for a car park over the road witch was recommended by the hotel reception witch cost £49.00 over night witch was very expensive .
if they had the car parking sorted within the hotel then it would have made the stay more enjoyable .
also the receptioist when asked about the congestion charge ,didnt no where to pay the charge and had to go and find where to pay it myself .

The staff were helpful and friendly but the hotel needs some TLC carpets and decoration needs revamping. Bathroom was clean but toilet seat moved and door did not close properly and needs decorating. Bed was comfortable and linen spotless. I feel the price I payed for the room was high considering it needed attention.

Big disappointment

Having read the reviews for this hotel I was a little put out but thought I would give this a go as it was very conveniently located for my needs. However the reviews wer unfortunately correct. This hotel from the outside is a wonderful building but once inside it is like Faulty Towers. The hotel has bags of potential but needs a lot of money spending on it by way of refurbishment. The hotel is clean however flowery curtains, flock-style wallpaper and carpet to match is a little bit dated to say the least. I dearly hope that the owners take on board this critiism because has I said with money spent on the hotel it could be a fabulous hotel as the structure from the outside is fantastic
