The room was so hot and stuffy that we could not breath. The reception personel was really rude treating customers like students in a school. They offer breakfast but they did not have the facilities to attend all the passangers so we have to wait in order to be seated and the food was gone.
I will be sure not to recommend this hotel.
A part from the location which is central to most of the attractions in London this hotel is really in need of a make over to bring it into the 21st century, decoration and carpets are very tired looking. Make sure when you book a Family Room that you stipulate what type of bed setting you want, we walked into the room with 3 single beds and since I work abroad the wife was not a happy bunny. weather was great that w/e but no A/C in room and on 4th floor that became unbearable. If you want a hot breakfast get there as soon as doors open otherwise (it) will be cold, coffee machines are in French and not very tasty, go for black coffee and use the milk put aside for cerals. Showers becareful of they go from hot to cold and vice verse when the feel like it. For what I paid for the weekend a Premier Inn is more comfortable for half the price. I must agree with the rest of the reviews, great location thats it.

This hotel is in a prime location so rate is good value and the staff were helpful and friendly. The twin bedded room was clean and spacious enough with a hairdryer and kettle and tea+coffee facilities. The bathroom was spotlessley clean and looked newly tiled. However there was a huge crack across the handbasin. As we were only staying one night I wasn't too bothered, but would have asked for another room if staying longer. The hotel was what I expected for 3 star. As previous reviewers have said, 'you get what you pay for' and I wasn't expecting 5 star luxury, so was pleasantly surprised to find the place perfectly acceptable and felt it was good value.

The reception staff were excellent. Our trip included breakfast which was probably the worst breakfast I have ever had in a hotel. There were no clean cups or plates either. You were not told what to do, i.e. make your own coffee from machine. All the condiments were written in a foreign language. The price for the room was very good but our sink didn't empty and there was no extractor fan in the bathroom. I would probably not stay in that hotel again.

The Hotel smelled of paint and diesel, or something unpleasant everywhere. The floors, carpets creak and are threadbare. Dingy rooms, paintwork and rot apparent in hallways and rooms - mine also had broken/dangerous floor tiles - took photos if anybody wants them as I was so shocked, all very depressing and claustrophobic. One lift had an outer door half open and yet semmingly operating. All the staff were very nice and the food was good. I also filled out the questionairre at the hotel and talked briefly , pleasantly to staff on my deperture.

We payed nearly 300 pounds for 2 nights which was a saving of over 500. Completely ridiculous. If this hotel was not in London it would be charging 70 a night maximum. Laterooms are in serious danger of going out of business if they continue to allow such ludicrous statements on their website. The first night we were in room 410 which was very shabby. The shower didn't work. The sink was the size of a sheet of A4 paper. The beds were like slabs of concrete, the tv could not be viewed from the beds and there was only 1 small chair. No air con. Carpets ripped. The second night after complaining we were put in room No 1 which had all that one would expect from a 70 a night room but was still shabby. The breakfast was not up to standard. Coffee from a machine, cheap cardboard cornflakes, fruit juice of dubious origin. We didn't make it to the hot plate. Disgraceful and very very disappointing.

The location was great, a stones throw from the tube. Our room although it was nice and clean looked as though it had been neglected for the last 10 years and could do with a little updating. Bathroom was very small with a tiny sink and no ventilation so smelt a little bit musty and damp. If you simply need a bed for the night then I would recommend it and the breakfast was nice and offered a wide selection so I couldn't fault the price but any longer than 1 night and I would spend a little more and stay somewhere nicer.

Reception area is very smart. Bedroom and bathroom needed updating, however it was clean and the bed comfortable. Hot water was plentiful, needed more shelf space in the bathroom. Plenty of wardrobe space. Although above a busy street we slept well even with the double glazed windows open as the room was very warm. An electric fan was already in the room for use. We only had breakfast at the hotel but that was excellent. Self-service with full English or selection of cold meats, fruit, yogurts, cereals, juices, tea and coffee. All fresh and plentiful. room needed painting, but was very nice and clean. Breakfast chaotic, too many people and not enough toasters, we were shown to a table and then left, would have been nice to have been told where everything was and that everything was self service. Never saw orange juice, and toast took to long to wait for!! Perfect location and very quiet rooms. Would recommend apart from the breakfast.

I stayed at the Grosvenor Kensington Hotel, together with my daughter. For the money we paid via Late Rooms it really was an excellent choice. Prior to our arrival I had read several of the previous guests' reviews and was a tad aprehensive however, the room was pleasantly decorated, large by London standards with lovely high ceilings. The shower pressure was very good in the morning and the breakfast buffet was more than adequate. For the location, directly opposite South Kensington tube and in very close proximity to the V & A Museum and Natural History Museum and for the money we paid - we will be back!

Rght next door to South Kensington Tube station. A lovey hotel in a great location. I wasn't over the moon about the security at night though. Anyone could have strolled through the lobby and hopped into the lift. That was the only minus point about an otherwise wonderful experience. One other thing, the breakfast was excellent with a wonderful spread and a good choice for everyone.

On the whole the hotel was fantastic value for money. Position right opposite South Kensington underground station exellent for ease of getting around. Perhaps the hotel has 'seen better days' bathroom and furnishings, although spotlessly clean, could have done with a bit of a re-furb, a bit tatty in places. The breakfast room and the food provided was absolutely excellent, plenty of everything, nicely laid out, very good. Only grouse is that our room on the front of the hotel was noisy - but hey its London and its never quiet!

Very good location for either the museums or theatre land.Only 100yrds from underground, with very pleasent local eating houses / pubs. Even a 24 hr Tescos nearby for that late night sandwich. Zetland PH, very friendly with a decent pint and reasonable prices. Hotel is very nice.Staff very friendly, especially those on reception and in breakfast room.Breakfast is a buffet style, but at leisurely pace.We had breakfast at 8.30 and 9am (different days) and there was no mad surge but still with plenty of choice. Room was a reasonable size and not cramped, even had a jacuzzi bath. For the money we paid through laterooms I would mark everything down as a 6 but this could be misread by others. We will go back, of that, there is no doubt.

The worst aspect was that the cooked breakfast was almost cold, even the tea and I was one of the first into breakfast room at 7 am! The decor was tired and pretty standard but I am not too bothered by that. However, the shower mixer tap did not work properly, so that my feet were scalded by hot water from the bath taps every time I used the shower - most unpleasant and painful. The staff didn't really seem that interested in guest issues. The room was tiny, by any standards, and I cannot honestly recommended this hotel as good value, even at the cheapest rate.

The hotel is very good but my surprise...
The hotel is very good, but my surprise was how very small and tiny my room was!!!! Actually the bathroom was as big as than the room. The window has a very depressing view on an internal shaft with almost no light and with a lots of pigeons excrements everywhere on it. The promotional charactere of the price might explain this, but definitely, I would choose another hotel if I knew the size of the room before booking, hence the apparent contradiction in my answers to the last two questions.

The hotel was very convenient for the tube & museums etc; and in a nice area. The breakfast was ok, particularly if eating just the continental breakfast, the cooked food seemed always to have been standing around for too long & looked congealed. My single room was of generous size, the decor was a bit tired & paintwork on the windowsill was flaking, so my room and the guest corridors I saw would certainly benefit from a repaint. I found the staff were helpful & polite and having used the gym I found it adequately equipped. For the reduced rate I paid I found it reasonable value.

We were told upon arriving that check in is at 2:00. They didn't even see if they had any rooms available. They finally started letting people in the rooms around 1:30. Also, our room had cracked and chipped paint on the ceiling; water spots also. It did not leave us with a good impression on this trip. We have stayed in the G-K before and had a good stay, but without repairs, I wouldn't recommend this hotel again. The front desk workers were not helpful at all. The location is great and the hotel was clean, but it has seen better days.

The hotel was easy to find... just across the road from South Kensington Tube station, which I liked. I got the impression that while the hotel was clean and the staff were very welcoming, it had perhaps seen better days. Our room was light , airy, the bathrooom and bed scrupulously clean... but felt it was let down by the decor, the paintwork looked like it was in need of attention. All cosmetic, I know.... but the sort of things I notice. The bar area was well laid out, the staff friendly and courteous, but again, let down by the shabbiness of the chairs and soft furnishings in general. the breakfast room by comparison was fine, and the breakfast was more than adequate. Again the staff were very attentive. All in all , I'd stay again... it was good value for money, and had a very nice ambience.

No disabled access, steep steps. Very tired decor, curtains did not fit windows. One shower did not work, the other could not be accessed fully (to open door!) Advertised restaurant but only did breakfasts. Filthy extract system in my bathroom, consequently did not work. Staff's attitude very mixed, on checking out he could not be bothered to book us a taxi , indicated to stand outside hotel, but we should have been down the road where apparently there was a taxi rank. Not a Hotel to be recommended, only tried this one to enable my elderly Mother to visit Royal Marsden Hospital.

This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. It wasn't clean, the decor was dated, tired and depressing. A leak occurred in my room and the hotel staff had no idea how to deal with the problem. I would warn anyone against staying here. When I was here there was no hot water at all, not just cold water, but NO WATER. I was unable to shower or sleep properly. A truly dreadful place.

I have stayed in many London hotels and for value for money, this hotel was extremely good. I was a bit disappointed that at six in the morning I was asked to go to Reception to collect an ironing board, may be they were short staffed? Breakfast was good and room clean.
