Looking at the hotel website, I believed that my stay would be comfortable but I was sadly wrong. My initial impression was satisfactory and reception staff were helpfulThe bedroom and bathroom are in need of refurbishment, with carpets, fabrics and seating all needing attention. The bed was comfortable but I was not tempted to take a bath as the surround sealing to the walls looked grubby and paint was peeling from the woodwork. Breakfast provision was okay. What concerned me was that the price I paid before I arrived seemed terrific as the website stated that I was making a big saving on the rack rate - in truth I would certainly not pay the the rack rate and do not intend to return to this hotel again.

Although the hotel is a little dated we found it very clean and the staff very helpful. Our room was a good size with a large bathroom. The location is fantastic being so close to the tube. There is also a lounge with free internet. Breakfast which was included in the price was very nice with a large choice including fresh fruit as well as hot options. We will stay here again.

I came back at midnight and found a problem with my room. The person just going off-duty at the Front Desk dealt with it perfectly, it could not have been friendlier or more efficient.

Staff very helpful and polite but very disappointed with the room, very tired bath and sink cracked and floor dirty in the corners. Room reduced to £99 per night which for 3 adults wasn't too bad but room originally advertised at £600 per night - ridiculus!!. We did have an enjoyable weekend and hotel just 1 min from South Kensington Underground. Would stay again at the right price.

Arrived in London much earlier than expected so decided to pop into hotel to confirm they had my booking. Was able to check in and was given room key so no hassle when my course had finished and was tired and just wanted to get into my room and put my feet up. Booked twin room to ensure didn't get a single room boot cupboard so ended up with a good size room. Clean and functional but rather in need of redecorating. Struggled with shower - either boiling hot or freezing cold and the bathroom sink was very cracked and just didn't look very nice but didn't leak. On 5th floor so no traffic noise - just as well as room was overheated (as usual for hotel - Why, Why???) and had to sleep with window open. Breakfast was plentiful (and edible) so all in all can't complain and for £69 I reckon pretty good going for the location.

We stayed at the Grosvenor Kensington as we were watching a show at thr Royal Albert hall. Location:: From South Kensington tube primary exit the hotel is to the right and across the road, and we were 10 mins walk to the Royal Albert hall so we didn't need to pay or bother with taxis or buses. Perfect.Accomodation:: The room was clean, but everything was very worn. As the room was advertised as being 'normally' £400 a night on Laterooms - despite the amazing location, it's not worth the money. However, we did only pay £79 for the two of us, and as breakfast was included (which wasn't too bad considering) we can't complain. Also, the hotel staff we're very friendly.

I have stayed at this hotel several times before but I was still asked to fill-in all my address details etc. Reception staff were new and a little flustered. The hotels appears to be showing some wear & tear and paradoxically has risen sharply in cost to when it was in better shape. Not great value this time.

My recent stay left me at the Grosvenor...
My recent stay left me at the Grosvenor Hotel in Kensington. I found the room to be rather poor, and general condition of the hotel to be also poor. The bathroom shower was way below useable (I stayed on the 5th floor), and I could not stand straight in the shower due to the way which 'overlapped' the bath. It was impossible to get a sensible water temperature (was either too hot or too cold). I would certainly not stay in the hotel again.
