Traditional Georgian building in very good reach of Holborn, Euston, Kings Cross and Tottenham Copurt Road. Central London Oasis - birdsong and trees outside the window in the morning. Very comfortable bedroom, shower unit in room could have been cleaned better, shared toilet on landing, although very clean and you probably wouldn't notice if you didnt have to remember your room key to get back in. Very attentive service. Excellent breakfast. Very relaxing stay and with Lateroom discount very reasonable - wouldn't have been otherwise. If I can get a deal I'll stay here again. No lift here only a steep staircase.

I did not pre-book breakfast but on teh evening of arrival swiped my card at reception for £110 which would have covered breakfast and room. During breakfast, I was asked to sign to say I was having breakfast and tehn to print my name - I didn't mind, but right in the middle of the meal was a bit off-putting. Before would have been fine. The waitress may have asked if I wanted full English - she didn't and just brought me a continental breakfast bill to sign. She just lost them £6...

usually i wouldn't choose a room without it's own loo but on reflection it was really no hardship to walk a few steps down the corridor but at least i knew in advance to take a dressing gown!! Yes there are steps up to the room - it is a gerogian town house, but they offered to take up my bags. The staff were lovely and efficient, the room was spacious with everything you could need and the bed was the cumfiest bed i have ever slept in even rivalling my own. The location is great took 15-20 mins to walk to from Euston, handy for tube stations and a very pleasent area in itself with plenty of resteraunts. You can use the pool/gym facilities at one the thier other 4 or 5* hotels near by for £10 (not that i did). The only thing was i though breakfast was a bit pricey at something like £11 for continental. I ate at Giraffe about a 5 -10 min walk away in the neraby shopping area which had a good choice of breakfasts. I would stay again though would prefer an ensuite at one of their other hotels on the same road.

Arrived with my partner for our anniversary on the Friday with an evenings itinery in the west end planned. On arrival at 4pm the rude and obnoxious reception staff informed us they had no rooms but would happily transfer us to another hotel 10 miles away in Hammersmith!!! When I asked if they would accomodate ourtravel expenses back due to the extra distance they said no. The funniest bit about it was that the hotel in Hammersmith could not do breakfast so they were willing to collect us in the morning to come back for breakfast!!!

First time I have been disappointed with a laterooms hotel. No toilet in room (not on ad), no wifi, bedside lamp but no plug for it! Even at a reduced rate this makes for very poor value for money

Transferred to the Clarendon. Staff were very helpful and friendly and checked us in early. Rooms comfortable if fairly basic and old fashioned. No minibar (never use them anyway). Iron and kettle in the room. Very close to Oxford Street. Easy walking distance from Euston, St Pancras and Kings Cross stations also theatre land and covent garden. Nice and central.

We would stop in the Lancaster again. Small and welcoming. The rooms were basic but clean and comfortable. We were lucky as we had a full en suite, I understand some rooms don't have this. Location is excellent if arriving at Kings Cross Station this Hotel is within easy walking distance. Also easy walking to Covent Garden.

Our room was on the ground floor at the rear, so very quiet. VERY high ceiling! Breakfast was excellent, if a little pricey compared to resonable cafes. Very close to British museum, short walk to Holborn tube. Disappointed there was no bar on the premises, only in an associated hotel across the road.

I would not consider this a hotel! I had no idea my room had no toilet and as a result had to go to Buckingham hotel for £41 extra, which did not even include the breakfast. Needless to say I will not be using any of these hotels again. I am in Lonodn regularly and have stayed a lot of hotels none that had no toilet facilities with the room so I was totally unaware these typw of rooms even excisted!

Good value, good size room, good location, helpful staff. Only slight disadvantage was lack of toilet in the room but since I spent most of the time out in London it wasnt too much of a problem. Good value.

The Hotel was in a good quite location minutes away from the British Museum and within walking distance of Oxford Street for shopping, theatre etc. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The bedroom was clean and well furnished, the only downside was that there was no onsuite bathroom and our nearest toilet was out of order. Booking last minute meant that the room was very good value for London . Would consider staying here again

Room itself was fine but was very noisy during the night due to proximity to lifts which had an unnecessarily loud voice system ("stand clear of the doors" etc.).

The staff were unable to "authorise" my room phone to make outside calls. There is no internet access from the rooms - only one computer in the lobby to share with everyone in the hotel.Don't order the room service - terrible.Despite saying this the hotel was clean, quiet, central and not too expensive.Beware there are no lifts and steep stairs, which may be a problem for some guests. The rooms have basic shower and sink, but the toilets are shared in the corridor. (A note to future guests, please don't go to the toilet in your birthday suit - there may be other guests walking the corridor at that moment who don't need an eye-full!!)

If you need to be in this part of town, and don't mind going without comforts such as having a toilet ensuite, a light in your shower, a lift and a level floor in your room (!) then this is fine. However if you need these comforts look elsewhere or check they come with your ground floor room.

It's a nice enough place to stay, but the bedroom I had was odd. No bathroom, you go down the corridor for that. Which leaves a sink in the main part of the bedroom and the shower cubicle opening into the main part of the room. It makes it feel like a student flat.Having said that it was clean enough (not spotless), very comfortable bed and very good breakfast.

we do think that it's not a good value for money. I am pregnant and asked to upgrade the room to have my own toilet but action was not taken. We book breakfast for £15 but found out that you can actually buy it on the hotel for only £11.50. We thought that it would be cheaper if we book it advance but obviously not.

Very small room and single not very comfortable bed, compared to the price, very noisy as opposite the main road, no lifts to go up two flights of stairs. The receptionist was rude. There payment acceptance machine was not working and they seem to imply it was the customers problem

Arrived late. Served quickly but was very disappointed when I got to my room. No toilet in the room and the en-suite shower was just built in the corner of the room. The bed looked and felt grubby. I did not have a comfortable nights sleep. I will never stay there again.
