we would definately stay at this hotel again. Stayed for our eldest daughters 13th birthday and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The location is very good with Oxford Street only a 5 minute walk away and the nearest tube station less than a minute away. The only gripes we have are there was no iron or trouser press in either of our rooms but both were stated as being standard.
Would definately recommend the hotel though and would rate it overall as 9/10

This is in a great location. Staff are friendly. Room was clean. For two people it would have been very cramped. It was quiet, which was good since I needed the windows wide open because of the heat. Very good value for two people.

Overall found it good value for money (did not pay standard room rate). Rooms in lower ground floor and corridor needing much updating, as did dining room. Staff very helpful. Breakfast ok. Main concern, did not seem to be any other entrance that steep main steps. Not ideal for elderly or those with limited mobility. Very conveniently situated.

We chose this hotel for it's short distance to Theaterland and also to Euston station - a short walk from the station and easy access to the rest of London through Great Portland Street tube station.
Breakfast was great, very pleasant and helpful staff.
My only issue was that we left the room windows open (no aircon) as it was quite hot, only to be awoken at 3.30am by a rubbish truck being filled with what I can only guess from the noise was glass bottles. This went on for quite some time. Being London, no matter where you stay you will most likely get noise from the streets so I can't complain about it too much!
Would definitely stay again despite this, and hope for a night when there isn't a glass collection!

The whole place was dull, dusty and needed updating. There was a hair on our towel bundle and a cigarette burn on our bed throw. We stayed in the basement so lots of noise overhead and very dark. It wasn't worth the 118 we paid through late rooms but I was even more surprised that their normal rate for a double room was 220. No way a 4* hotel, a 2* at the most.

If you want a hotel 10 minutes from Oxford Street in a quiet street this is the one for you. I cannot fault it at all. I am a light sleeper and had asked for a quiet room and that's what I got! The room backed on to an office block, not a proper road at all. I didn't hear a single car. I could hear the occasional tube train when I went in the bathroom and if you stayed on the Bolsova Street side then you would probably hear a bit more. They upgraded us to a room with air con which was needed as the hotel was hot. The bathroom was clean with a good shower and twin sinks. The bed was very comfy and the linen smelt fresh. I would stay here again.

Great location in a quiet street but close to restaurants, Regents Park and various other attractions. Traditional style but comfortable. Was with a relative in their 80s. Lifts were fine but there are 6 or 8 deep steps and no handrail from street to front door which were hard work for her to negotiate. Staff friendly and helpful but needs a handrail. Excellent hotel in terms of location and closeness to Tube. The room was 82 for the night, and the LateRooms website indicated that the normal rate for this room was over 200 - well, the room was very good value for 82, but I'd have been disappointed if I'd paid the normal rate - the room would have been small for two people, and the bathroom accessories were basic.
However, the room was spotlessly clean, with a comfortable bed, and quiet - I hardly heard the traffic at all, and for business travel I'd stay here again.

It was clean, a decent size for a London hotel and comfortable (especially the bed - slept like a log... if they sleep!). The night porter was also very helpful and accommodating. My only negative point would be the breakfast - continental was 17 and simply nasty. I would stay again but have breakfast in Regents Park.

We paid 83 for the night (Sat), for a standard double but got upgraded to an executive double. The room was "old grandeur" although a little past it's best. Comfy bed and good shower. The official list price was about 250 for the room which would have been a complete rip off, but 83 for an executive double was good value and the central location near oxford circus meant we could walk everywhere. The breakfast was very expensive so we didn't have it (roughly 20 for continental and 30 for cooked breakfast.)

We stayed here for a weekend away over Valentines.
The hotel is in a good location, within easy reach of tubes and the West End. Unfortunately this is the only good thing.
The room although the larger "Exec " was pokey and run down, with broken cabinets and a small stereo thats speakers had obviously been left to sit in a pool of coffee to stain them up to half way.
The bathroom was a good size with 2 basins and bath/shower, which on our last morning had no hot water at all.
We needed to check out to catch a train so mentioned the cold water when checking out. The customer service was appauling, we felt they had our money and that was tough.
I appreciate that you pay a premium for location but this is far from a four star hotel in both accomodation and service. My recommendation if you want the location is stay at the Holiday Inn 50m further up Bolsover Street.

we only gave a 1 for customer service because when we checked out, we told the lady at reception what we'd had from the mini-bar. she then said - 'we just have to check this' - and rang someone and said can you just go and check that they've only had what they said, from the minibar - right in front of us! she didn't smile and barely acknowledged us. she should have done this in a much more subtle way, esp for a hotel of this many stars.

First impressions were not good. I was close to the hotel, on foot, in pouring rain, and telephoned for directions. The receptionist couldn't help, the Concierge said he'd call me back on my mobile phone. I was directed in the end by a helpful postman. I made the reception staff aware of my poor first impression but they were not particularly interested. Check-in was efficient but brusque and generally no-one smiles! The receptionists were both foreign and it perhaps had something to do with confidence, but why have them on the front desk? My overnight stay was comfortable and uneventful, and represented good value for money as the Laterooms price was considerably lower than the advertised rack rates. I didn't eat in the hotel as I had a prior dinner function. I would stay there again (at a discounted price), but staff need to be a tad more friendly and helpful!

The room was small but comfortable. The hotel looked very nice but we arrived late and left straight after breakfast so didn't have an opportunity to sample the bars or restaurant. Two minor issues: 1 the car parking locally is very expensive, 2 although the room was clean it was a non-smoking room but did smell of cigarette smoke so it may have been a smoking room in the past. All said though, it was good value for money for an overnight stay.
