Summary
I paid £78 on LateRooms for a double room (rather a good bargain), and I was very pleased. It was great value for money. The location is superb - just off Russell Square. The receptionist was welcoming, and very helpful (giving me a map and showing me the location of the conference that I was attending, the next day, as well as giving me directions to the local Tesco's and Sainsbury's). The room was excellent, the decoration interesting (interesting pictures) and tasteful (no overwhelming mixture of three different floral prints or pink walls in this hotel. I really liked the curtains and didn't notice the carpet, so it must have been fine). The bed was huge and very comfortable. It was quiet, I slept well. The roads around Russell Square were being re-surfaced at the time, so there was no traffic. I don't know whether the traffic would have been noisy or not. The temperature of the room was fine. There was a basket of oranges and apples as well as the tea/coffee/biscuits - that was a nice touch. There was a super selection of toiletries, although I didn't use any of them because I had brought my own with me. The shower was great, powerful with plenty of hot water. I used the hair-dryer, and the concierge brought me an iron and ironing board. The room was spotlessly clean. I didn't use the internet. Apparently it costs £10 for 24 hours. I think that it's fairly standard for hotels to charge for internet use in the UK, and I never use it. I had my dongle with me. I didn't have breakfast either - apparently that costs £17.50, which does seem a little on the pricey side. (The "food" that I commented on was the orange in the fruit basket). If you add the cost of the breakfast to the price that I paid for the room (£78), the result is still cheaper than some more basic hotels nearby that provide breakfast. I would suggest taking some paper plates and buying croissants, bread, butter and marmalade from the local supermarkets the night before (The Tesco's was open at 10 pm - not sure when it closes) and having a do-it yourself breakfast in your room. There were two nice armchairs and a table, so you would be quite comfortable there. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely like to stay again.

Hotel was a surprise - really lovely, excellent location right next to Russell Square Gardens. Room was small but stylish, clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay there again (we paid £90 for one night, looked on laterooms to see how much it originally cost - would not pay full price but for under £100, this was spot on).

Stayed on a Sunday night which was exceptional value. Didn't need dinner or breakfast so can't review those but was upgraded to a lovely 4-poster room. Reception staff very friendly and efficient.

My daughter and I stayed at the Grange Blooms for one night while in London. Had booked a double room but requested a twin if possible and were given one. Got a very good rate on LateRooms which is why I booked this hotel. Reception was very friendly, room was really nice, bathroom clean and well supplied. Beds were comfortable and appearance was really nice with cushions and throws. Lots of room which you don't always get in Central London as often you can barely move around the room. Very convenient to the tube and for a number of areas for sightseeing, shopping and eating. My only complaint would be that the breakfast (which we didn't have) is very expensive - £17 for continental - but then I'm sure this isn't unusual for London. Easy enough to get a breakfast in the area though so no need to spend that much at the hotel. Would definitely stay there again - one of the better experiences I have had staying in a London hotel.

Although our en suite room was slightly on the small side it was extremely comfortable. The bed was lovely and the pillows nice and soft. The decor looked fresh and the en suite was very adequate, good shower and plenty of hot water. We stayed in 314. Surrounding area nice and quiet, we were not disturbed during the night and we had window open. Russell Square Tube just across from Russell Square Gardens, nice cafe in the gardens, and The British Museum is just a short stroll around the corner. Found some lovely shops to the right of the Russell Square Tube, Waitrose, L K Bennett, etc., 24 hr Tesco directly opposite Tube. Only downside, we stayed room only and full English breakfast at £23.00 was too expensive for us . Would definitely stay again.
Summary
Despite being in the heart of Bloomsbury the hotel was suprisingly peaceful. We stayed in an Executive room, which was very well appointed but a little on the small side. The room and ajoining bathroom were very clean with some nice touches such as fresh fruit. Staff were all friendly, professional and helpful. I would recommend this hotel and would stay at the hotel again when in Bloomsbury.
Summary
Very well situated for the City and railway stations. Lovely little park in Russell Square. Pleasant interior although the bedrooms are looking rather tired and need refreshing which is a shame as it could be beautiful with a bit of reinvestment. Most importantly though, I had a quiet room and I slept well.....I didn't need the frills as it was only a bed for the night. Senior staff excellent. Don't book a taxi via reception as they are stupidly priced so use a black cab instead. Overall a reasonable place to stay for an overnight but I would choose a boutique hotel for a longer stay in the City.
