I booked this hotel for a special occassion...
I booked this hotel for a special occassion, the reviews seemed very encouraging and the photos would have me believe it was an exceptionally well maintained and managed serviced apartment hotel. I booked our room the night before and so got a very reasonable price (98) for one nights stay in a studio apartment. So far so good. My first point of contact with the hotel staff came that morning, I rang to confirm my reservation had been recieved, to which the response was 'what was your name? errr, no, errr, what was your name? was it micheal? err, no, errr, hang on' Now to me, the receptionist did not sound like someone who had a good telephone manner, or any other kind of good manners. I was no longer instilled with confidence. I was transferred to another lady who sounded as though my call had just woken her up, yawning between words, she confirmed that yes, they do have my reservation...oh joy. On checking in the manager came out from the office to greet us (hmmm, confidence slowly being restored...) and then inform us 'up front' that the room we were allocated was their very last room, in the basement, so basically, if there were any problems he couldn't do anything about it anyway (huh, confidence dashed to smithereens). The receptionist pointed at a door and told us to get the lift downstairs, okay down we go... Lift doors open and suprise suprise there were no signs for our room (LB16), rooms LB17 onwards however were all clearly signed up...So off we go hunting for our room, (this was not the type of adventure I had planned). We located our room, through the staff hallway, past the staff quarters, opposite the staff R&R room, next to the fire exit come staff smoking and joking area, and adjacent to the in house laundry room (which by the way, stunk). Great, some birthday present this was turning out to be. Having already been informed that no other room was available, we bit the bullet and decided to relax with a nice, scolding hot, shower. Oh, of course, why would the tempertature gauge in the shower work when this is clearly the worst possible room in the building. I alerted the manager to the fact that we seemed to only have scolding hot as a shower temperature to which he replied (as though I am a complete moron) that one gauage turns it on and off, the other controls temperature. Really? Well blow me down with a feather! Yes indeed I replied, one of them does turn it on, but the other doesn't do anything, oh right well err...yet another reassuring response from the 4* staff. He wouldn't look at the shower until we returned from our evening out, and so of course, by 11pm, there were no maintence staff working to fix our problem. ''I'll have someone look at it tomorrow'' the manager told us, ''oh, but I guess thats no good for you since you are checking out tomorrow'' WOW! what a genius. By way of compensation for not being able to shower I asked for complimentary breakfasts, which was agreed. So the next morning we went to breakfast, and by way of compensation for the very noisy location of our room, the moisture and heat and smell that invaded our room from the laundrette, for the scolding hot shower facilities, the world class customer service, and the lack of a sofa in our room (despite posters in the lifts boasting that all their rooms had sofa's), we ate as much as we possibly could to get our 98 worth.
Would we stay again? Probably not. On the bright side, the breakfast was very nice.

This Hotel/apartment was an ideal base for our family holiday, we we're only a minute away from Kensinton & Hyde Park so did'nt feel enclosed. The apartment itself was really well kept & spacious, & a pleasent suprise it was'nt all one room. The kitchenette was basic but adequate. Reception was very helpful, especially on our check out day providing a free baggage room. Our only little complaint was the double bed was'nt that comfy.
But all in all I would recommend this Hotel.

The idea of an apartment is fine but...
The idea of an apartment is fine, but we had the following problems. The window sashes were broken; one was propped open with an old copy of Yellow Pages - the other would not open at all. A fan was provided, but that was not the point. The radio remote control did not work - it was missing a battery. Room service was poor - bed not made, tea towel not replaced. The carpet was badly stained with black marks. We stayed two nights - on both mornings at about 8.15 there was an ear-splitting fire alarm which lasted for about twenty seconds. There were road works outside our window; we asked if we could change to a quieter side, but were told there were no other rooms available. The kitchen area was limited - no teaspoons; and we would have expected at least some basic tea and coffee; even Travelodge do that! There was no hairdrier. The shower panel along the bath was ineffective, leading to pools of water on the bathroom floor.

On arrival the of the entrance was very modern and contemporary. On receving the keys for the room, which was for 4 adults, the room we felt was smaller than expected, there was a seperate bedroom, with bathroom, and then another sitting/living area, with a pull out bed, which was quite hard to sleep on. The room was very clean, with modern appliances, however for four people and if we had stayed longer than a night could have been a bit tight. Definitley value for money, and i would stay there again for no more than a night. The staff were lovely.

I have stayed at this hotel twice so far and must say it is fantastic and has a home from home feel as its like staying in your own flat rather than a hotel room.
The staff are very friendly and there is a breakfast service during the week and resteraunt opening soon.
There is a room service menu for take away cuisine for every taste in the rooms but takes about an hour to be delievered according to the guide.
The rooms are large and spacious and in pristine condition with basic toliteries supplied.
Iron, hairdryer, toaster, kettle, safe, TV, DVD, CD Player etc all in the room.
No ironing board though - I had a laugh about this with the General Manager and he assured me that this would be rectified shortly.
A little pricey but situated beautifully and a fantastic place to relax.

First time I'd stayed in a serviced apartment in London and these were fantastic. Excellent value for money (at the laterooms price) and the studio double apartment was at least one third larger than 'superior' double rooms I've recently stayed in at Hotels, for less money.
Excellent location, I'd definitely stay here again if I could get the same offer price.

The hotel was clean and tidy and location was excellent for accessing central London. The staff were generally helpful. The first room I was given had not been cleaned and the staff were very apologetic about this error. Once into my clean room I was quite happy. The apartments had all the facilities required to make my stay comfortable. I would definitely recommend this to a friend or colleague.

Nice presented hotel (serviced apartments) however was not kept at high standards over time. Staff were all extremely friendly and welcoming however the reception and front desk was filled with luggage on arrival, which seemed very unsafe for others' possessions.
I stayed for 3 nights. The hotel room started off very clean and nicely presented however the maid service offered did not keep this standard ongoing for my stay. On the second day, the maid did not make the bed completely and although it seemed like the towels had been replaced everyday I discovered in the second night that it hadn't as the mascara smudge mark from the night before was still there. In addition, the maid did not clean the bath tub neither did she vacuum the room or bathroom. I believe this level of maid service causes the quality of the hotel to deduce dramatically as standards are not kept high.
Another problem I encurred was the free internet access throughout the hotel was not working. I was given a LAN cable to connect my laptop to the internet dock in the room however after numerous cables it remained unconnected. I informed the reception several times and the problem was never fixed til the end of my stay.
Although standards were not kept high, I believe the hotel is capable of delievering high quality as the bedrooms, decorations, cleanliness, presentation of the hotel is modern and well maintained.
The apartment was spacious, the bed comfortable and great location near Bayswater. The Whiteleys shopping center is just down the street, convenient for getting food to cook in the apartment at the Marks & Spencer. I arrived at 9am and was given my room even though checkin is after 2pm.
However, the apartment was not cleaned properly. There were stains on the coffee table and the countertop and wall of the kitchen. The countertop of the bathroom also had water stains as well as cigarette butts in the sink - even though this is a non-smoking room.
When I first arrived into the room, the lights went out when I flipped on the switch. I told the font desk but it took almost an hour for the lights to come back on - it was just a problem with a fuse, should have only taken 5min. to fix. The second day I had cleaning staff come into the room in the morning without knocking first, I was in the bathroom - when they realized someone was still in the room they quickly left without saying anything.
If the hotel could fix their problems with cleaning staff then this would be an excellent hotel to stay at again.

Very nice warm welcome and impressive entrance. Apartment spacious and in great condition. Shower superb and also good TV, Hifi etc. Nice and quiet and a very pleasant experience indeed.
The only thing not supplied which would be useful would be a tea towel, wiping up cloth and small amount of washing up liquid! Also, only one teaspoon! Will definitely stay again soon.

Decent accommodation in an accessible location, only a short walk from the tube. Reasonably spacious and quiet. Good family option. The Late Rooms reduced rate made this stay fair value for money, though we would have been disappointed if we'd paid the full price.
On the downside, security was an issue: the patio doors to our appartment didn't lock properly and could be opened easily from the outside, even after the manager came to 'fix' them. Also, some basic maintenance needed: kitchen cupboard doors broken and bin broken. Bed and bed-settee were poor quality - OK for one night though.

The hotel staff are very rude and didn't even know who laterooms were! She didn't help at all I had to ring laterooms off my mobile and let the reception lady speak on my mobile as she refused to ring them! Laterooms tried to be as helpful as possible however the reception lady was even telling them she was to busy to deal with the mess up from there end!!!!
