Great atmosphere, very friendly and helpful

We absolutely enjoyed our stay.
we really liked going to the other building for breakfast and dinner, although this is a bit awkward for those with low mobility.
we even had the chance to attend a concert in the common room in london house and that was an amazing last evening for me and the kids.
the personnel had exactly the right balance between friendliness and professional attitude.
the food was tasty and healthy.
the room was big and clean and with a clear atmosphere.
good job goodenough club!!

Goodenough for most. Great size room for London. Clean and comfortable. Good value.

The room was lovely and big for London, tho the bathroom was a little basic and didn't match the quality of the room. Staff v helpful and pleasant. Unfortunately, the wi Fi was patchy and wouldn't connect the following morning, but as it was free, didn't mind too much. Great position.one more complaint- thie breakfast is served over in the college, but they would only give me one cappuccino as part of my inclusive breakfast. This seems wrong.

The room was an ex greenhouse which was quite wierd. The worst element however was breakfast which is in a different building, requires directions from grumpy staff and is in a cafe where half of the people are paying for individual items. You have no idea what is and isnt included.and no one to welcome you. Take the room but get breakfast elsewhere would be my advice.

A fab hotel that ticks lots of boxes

My low rating for value for money was because I paid £110 for a single room when my friwnds who were couples got their room for £145.
Nice quiet location & felt very safe. Very easy to get to Russell Square tube or St Pancras, Euston & Kings Cross stations.
Mind you Brunswick Square has changed a bit in the last 30 yrs! Fantastic shopping Centre & lots of wonderful food stalls.
The breakfast in refectory in the college was excellent. As much as you could eat & drink & a huge variety from tea & toast to kippers & porridge.
Next time I am in London I will definitely stay here again. Thank you

Good value

We booked well ahead and got two rooms including breakfast for £99 each a night, which is good value for central London on a bank holiday weekend. The rooms were furnished to a good modern hotel standard and were comfortable and very clean, with en suite shower rooms. Some things to be aware of (should these things be important to you), there's no air conditioning but the rooms have fans; the rooms are smaller than you will be used to if your experience is of big American hotel rooms, but big enough for all normal purposes (and you have the whole of London outside the door, what are you doing skulking in your hotel room?); if you're at the back of the old block your view will be of the new annexe (see previous point about all of London).
The service was very friendly and helpful. We followed others' recommendations to ring reception after we booked to request rooms in the old buildings at the rear and the hotel gave us what we asked for. However, the square it's located in was quiet and I'm sure rooms at the front would have been fine. It's a listed building and so there are no lifts and for this reason I would advise asking for rooms no higher than the second floor. If you have mobility problems they have bedrooms on the ground floor.
Breakfast (or brunch at the weekends, which goes on to a very civilised 2pm) is in the refectory of Goodenough College, which means going out into the square and in through the quad. This was a rather nice way to start the day and breakfast was good and very plentiful. We didn't have time to explore the bar, which is also in the college, or the private garden at the back of the Club.
The location's great, it's a £6 taxi ride from Euston, £10 taxi ride to the West End and Russell Square tube is 10 minutes walk. You can walk to the British Museum and you're also very close to the Brunswick Centre, which is unlovely but has a range of useful shops for all the stuff you've forgotten to bring with you.

Good Hotel, Great Breakfast, Fantastic Value

My sister and I booked this hotel very early in the year for a Birthday Theatre Weekend Treat; we where not disappointed. Although we did get lost on the way from Kings Cross; our fault and not necessarily the directions from the website we where pleasantly surprised to find the comfort and quality of the twin room provided at the cost of £99 per night per room including breakfast which was the best part, full choice cooked breakfast, continental and good coffee. No complaints, except the noisy little boy who woke us up on the stairs at 7am!

Good enough for us...

Great location, in the heart of Bloomsbury, with self contained bedrooms in a town house, but with access to the main college (c1930's) so we could experience breakfast in the 'great hall'. Clean llight rooms, very quiet roads, and efficient service. Would definitely recommend and use again.

Recent stay

The Goodenough Club is one of my favourite places to to stay in London. It's conveniently located for what I want to do, and considering London hotels are often poor value for money, this is in comparison great value. The location is really quiet and the staff are great. There is no lift, which if you're not good with stairs then you would want to specify a ground floor room.

Good stop over for eurostar or a london visit

Stayed here on a Sunday night to make a eurostar connection on monday morning. Booked a couple of months in advance and got a better deal than a premier inn type hotel with an added bit of class to boot ! Nice friendly staff, really comfy bed and an excellent breakfast. The only problem was the room being on the ground floor near reception there was a lot of noise from the baggage room next door and the people going up and down the stairs opposite our bedroom door. the bathroom was the size of a good size broom cupboard but did the job for a one night stay.
Would reccommend it to others if you can get it for under £100 for bed and breakfast

Good value good service good location

We were not sure what to expect - student accommodation? hotel or hostel? We were pleasantly surprised. We were in a twin room in an unusual more modern addition to the lovely Georgian building. The room was on basement level, clean, light, comfortable with all requirements. The staff on 24 hour reception were helpful and friendly. We chose to have a cooked breakfast which was served in an adjoining building - the college - in (literally) the Great Hall. The food and choice of food and staff were excellent. Remember to take/remember your room number! The Club is on a quiet garden square. You can borrow the key to a well-looker after residents' gardens - an unusual plus. I would consider staying again and would feel very comfortable as a single traveler. The location is excellent - in Bloomsbury.

What a gem!

A real find in the heart of Bloomsbury, situated on a quiet and leafy square in a lovely traditional London house converted to modern hotel rooms with all necessary amenities. Cooked breakfast in the College refectory over the road is a bonus (though typical caterers' fare, but sets you up for the day), as is the free wi-fi and the 25% discount on parking at the nearby RCP. All-in-all, a really nice place to stay.

Certainly good enough

This was previously university accomodation perhaps, but the rooms were perfectly adequate for a short stay. There is no lift and the rooms are spreads across different venues across the square. Decent value and a good location for Kings Cross.
Buffet breakfast was in a different part of the square but it was absolutely excellent, with pancakes and other treats in addition to the usual staples (cooked/fruit/yoghurt/croissants)

Goodenough club was very goodenough

The accommodation was excellent. Room was a good size with room for suitcases and other bags. It had a small fridge, wardrobe and large windows that let in a lot of light. Quite spot with only minimal traffic noise. Easy walking distance to Kings Cross station or Rusell Square Station. Staff at reception very helpful. The breakfast was very fulfilling and only a short walking distance to the college hall where is was served. Also we enjoyed dinner there a couple of nights at a very reasonable cost. Would definitely stay there again.

Quiet location in heart of London

The best selling point of this hotel is that you can get a good nights sleep, but still be walking distance from the heart of Bloomsbury. I often stay in the Russell Square area for business, yet hadn't discovered this gem tucked away. Friendly staff and a charming location. However for me coming from the country, to find a hotel where I could have the window open all night was just bliss!
