The hotel was newly decorated and the staff were polite and that is about all this hotel has going for it. On our arrival we were told we staying in a different hotel to the one we had booked. Despite our annoyance at this the manager refused to move us. Just as well were are pretty fit the room was on the 4th floor right at the top of the building and there was no lift. The room was clean but you could not open the ensuite door fully because the wardrobe was in the way. We tried to boil the kettle but the lead was to shor, so we had to pull the bed away from the wall and put the kettle on the floor to enable us to have a cup of tea. In doing that the door out of the bedroom was blocked by the bed. There was only 1 blanket and a cover on the bed so it was cold at night and the radiator did not appear to work. Finally the windows in the room had no safety catch on them it would be quiet easy for a child to fall out as one of the beds was right underneath the window.Although our stay was only short it felt like being in a rabbit hutch, just as well it was London and we didn't have to spend much time in the room.

Nice pleasant stay lt br gt Was moved...
Nice pleasant stay. Was moved from a double room to a single after 1st night and the single room had no thermostat on the radiator- so too hot with window closed- too noisy with window open! (the main road is very busy) Rooms are clean if possibly a bit small- a comfy chair would have been nice for watching tv. Overall though it served its purpose for a business trip.Good local eating too.

I arrived at the hotel to find that they had tried to use my credit card and then explained it was normal practice, and then told they didn't have a room for me.This meant at 6pm in the evening, I had to find a hotel room, this Hotel is a real no go!

Just to let future prospective guests aware, when I booked my room in this hotel I thought I was booking a room in the Golden Strand Hotel. On arrival I was ushered down the street to another hotel owned by 'the family' (apparently they have three altogether). The Golden Strand Hotel looked quite nice but the one I stayed in (No. 73) was very poor in comparison.
