Very friendly, good location.

I arrived early evening and was pleasantly surprised to find the hotel had a lovely lobby, Internet station and tea room for relaxing in. I was greeted in a friendly manner and shown to my room, which was small but comfortable.
There was free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. The bathroom was a little small, but I had a comfortable stay. I paid £50 for the night, an absolute bargain for London, but understood I'd been upgraded from a shared bathroom to an en-suite.
Only downside was the basic breakfast. Continental - so cereals, juice and toast. An option for a full English would have been welcome.
Overall though, I'd recommend this to anyone who needs a central London room for the night.

Overall great stay

We recently stayed at the Garden Court Hotel, Bayswater. Overall we had a fantastic stay. The girl on reception was extremly helpful throughout our stay, giving us advice on the local area, directions, places to eat, etc. Location is excellent, a short 2 minute walk to all local shops bars and places to eat. The hotel was spotlessly clean, despite as reading a few bad reviews on trip advisor about bed bugs (which had us worried), but we couldn't fault the room, it was clean and tidy. The only thing I would have liked as an extra is tea & coffee making facilities in the room. But the breakfast included was an ample continental spread, with bacon & eggs optional at £3.50, bargin, which were wonderfully cooked and filled a hole on both mornings! Ignore other bad reviews, this hotel is a great find :)

A little faded, but still charming. Disappointing breakfast.

The Garden Court has not been refurbished to Premier Inn standards anytime recently but it has the kind of character, charm and individuality that the chains completely lack. The pleasure of waking up to birdsong in the city centre more than made up for a creaky floor and a rather aged (but scrupulously clean) bathroom suite. Complimentary tea and coffee is not available in each room, but served in a quaint little lounge that opens to the hotel's garden courtyard. Much more civilised, I thought, especially as it means a decent cuppa with fresh milk instead of those vile indvidual portionettes of UHT. The location is excellent, the pricing very affordable. Staff were very welcoming. My one real disappointment was the breakfast. If an included breakfast is going to be cold buffet only - which this is - that's fair enough, I suppose, but one would expect then to be offered a wider range of items than cereal, yoghurt, toast and fruit. I'd go again though.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Garden Court Hotel

The hotel seemed to be family run, which was nice. Everyone was extraordinarily helpful and friendly, and my room was clean and comfortable. The hotel was in a perfect location - close to shops, restaurants, the tube, and popular attractions. When I unexpectedly needed to book another night, the staff went out of their way to make sure I was accommodated. I'd be happy to recommend Garden Court to anyone staying in London.

Spacious Rooms, Good Location, Great Service

I was really impressed with the size of the rooms at the Garden Court. Reception was friendly and efficient, as was breakfast. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean and modern. Only downsides are that service pretty much closes at 2330. There is a drinks room with teas and coffees but I could t find any hot water! There are no tea and coffee facilities in the room and no clothes press or iron. However, I would definitely stay again. The location is a beautiful quiet square set just off a busy high street with shops bars and restaurants.

Very nice hotel

Stayed here for 2 nights when attending carling cup final, room was spotlessly clean, I booked a room with shared bathroom, but had been given an en suite room which was a bonus, very good neighbourhood on a peaceful square, only 5 minutes walk from Bayswater tube or 10 mins from Queensway, will stay here every time in London from now on.

Tucked away, and abit chintzy, but where else in London do you get an ensuite room for this price - staff helpful, small but functional; room that just needs a kettle.

Excellent location, lovely service, wouldn't hesitate to stay again!

I booked 3 nights in this hotel in a single room with shared facilities through laterooms.com and I was pleasantly surprised! As a single traveller who just wanted a quiet, safe place to sleep whilst in London (not a fan of hostels), this was a bargain at just GBP45 per night on sale. I found it easily enough, the man at the desk greeted me very professionally and showed me around and then told me that they have given me a room with a bathroom too! So I was so happy to have my own bathroom as I was prepared to share to save money - a definite bonus!
The room was very small - but it was just me, and I didn't plan to stay there during the day. The bathroom is pokey and the only thing I didn't like was the toilet paper behind my head instead of next to the loo (but seriously - that is all I could fault with it!) The bed was firm (more firm than I am used to, so that took a night or two to get used to).
The room was clean, had a tv and wardrobe. The tea and coffee facilities were downstairs but I only used that once. The breakfast was very adequate - I didn't care to pay for a hot breakfast, but I filled up on fruit, yoghurt, museli, tea/coffee/juice and toast each morning. The ladies in the dining room were efficicient, polite and attentative. The hotel was not full when I was there, so that may have been a bonus because there was never more than 2 or 3 people in the dining room when I went downstairs.
On checkout, they held my luggage right up until I had to leave for the train which was 2pm in the afternoon at no charge and it was left in the room behind the front desk.
The Bayswater Tube is 5 minutes walk as is the main street with Tescos, Restaurants, Boots, and anything you might need - I just bought Tesco sandwiches for dinner on two of the nights and some snacks as there is no restaurant in the hotel.
Comparing this hotel to the ones next door and along the same street - just through reviews - this one was exactly what I needed. I'm not a fussy person when it comes to budget hotels - and I wanted to stay near Notting Hill area so I am a very happy reviewer!

Stay here you will not regret it!

I have stayed in lots of the cheaper Hotels in and around Bayswater and this one is a little Gem! I was encouraged to give it a try by previous laterooms reviews and was pleased that I did. Situated in a quiet square near Queensway and Baywater tubes it is ideal for forays into the West End, Theatres, Gallerys, Museums, Shopping etc. I booked a single room with shared bath for 3 days over a weekend in Februay and as the hotel was quiet was automatically upgraded to a pleasant double with bath at no extra cost.(£45.00 per night) which is a steal for central London. The breakfast was ideal, cereal and toast, included in the room price, with the option of bacon and eggs at £3.50 again very reasonable. The room was clean and comfortable (no tea and coffee facilities in the room, but downstairs, and no fridge but Hey Ho!) and the staff were friendly and helpful. I have no reservations in reccomending this place and will definitely stay again

Superb location!

The welcome at the hotel really annoyed me.
I found the lady hard to communicate with, she didn't seem to listen or try to understand that I have a very heavy bag and was only asking what I thought was a simply question - "could I take the lift to the floor of my room"
Apart from the above the accommodation was good, loved the location especially loved the fact that there are many restaurants within walking distance including a Planet Organic! (Organic supermarket/deli with a option to eat in or takeaway
Bayswater tube station is approx. 10 minutes walk

A great stopping off place

I arrived at Garden Court after 10pm at night and was met by a warm welcome from the reception staff. The room was well away from noisy London traffic and I slept like a log. The breakfast staff were great, attentive and helpful. Although the room was basic in decor, I had all I needed to be in a good space for my business meeting the next day. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to make the most of London.

Cheap and cheerful as they say (against London prices). The room was basic and clean. Food at breakfast was basic too. Not get much more for £75 in Nottinghill though. No drinks, kettle etc in room but in the morning on the way to breakfast I found a room downstairs kitted out with kettle, heaps of tea, coffee etc. Shame they didn't tell me the night before! Internet access is an extra cost, from memory about a £5.
Better to be had (less basic) for only a few pound more in the area.

Forget the stars; read the reviews

I nearly missed this because it has no star rating. I read the reviews and was pleased I did. A colleague also stayed and both rooms were fine and quite a bit larger than a lot of hotels twice the price. Furnishings were tired and the shower had to be hand-held, but I coped without soaking the floor.
The location is second to nothing for Bayswater and we both found it was quiet on the night getting a good-night's sleep.
Breakfast was fine. I'd definitely stay again and take my wife with me.

Everything about the Hotel was spoilt by the surly rude attitude of the staff , seemed ok when I checked in but checking out they were ignorant and when I left my phone charger there and rang to see if I could get it back their one solution was to go and pick it up . If I lived near enough to do that why would I need a hotel , they absolutely refused to post it back which I think is very poor , in fact never even asked if I would pay for that , which obviously I would not have minded doing . Really made me very cross with their attitude . Shall not return .

Family stay

The hotel is good value for money, and we had a good sized family room with comfortable beds for ourselves and our two teenage sons. The lack of tea and coffee making facilities spoilt it a bit as the alternative was to travel four floors down first thing in the morning and make the drinks in the lounge, then carry them back up, which wasn't a feasible option really! The room could have been a bit cleaner, and breakfast was limited. Having said that, it was a great sized room and comfortable, and ideal for a budget stay. We would definitely return.
