The hotel location was very convenient and a good value for money. Staff were helpful. The room showed some signs of wear. The one of the curtains would not close and fell from its rod when we atttempted to close it.

Not great frankly- small room (not an issue) but shower didn't work consistently (ie 5 mins of working and then 5 mins of nothing at all), sink didn't drain, remote for TV didn't work.Just felt a bit shoddy all round

The Gallery hotel really lived up to its name. Upon entering the hotel, the reception hall is unlike any other modern hotel, it felt more like a club with classic decor, chandeliers and paintings by various artists. The rooms were clean, very well decorated and felt grand. The staff were friendly. Overall good value for money with its central & convenient location.

The hotel is a beautiful building in a good part of London close to the Underground and Hyde Park. Because of it's age, the room was small, not somewhere I could spend much time in (not a problem if you're intending to be out most of the time. It felt crowded by it's air conditioner.

The hotel was clean and tidy and the staff were friendly and helpful. I wa sa little disappointed with the decor which appeared a little tired compared top a travel lodge type of establishment.

Only paid £99 for a single room and they kindly upgraded me to a bigger room. This is a typical medium quality hotel - I wouldn't pay more than £99 per night and still thing it was OK.

This 'quaint' English hotel is a sham. Most of the artwork and furniture appear to be bad auction choices, with a strange poncho acting as a kind of tressle table cover. The service is entirely non-existent and should have been almost exclusively provided by eastern europeans. No one acknowledged us on entry - they appeared too engrossed in complicating a check-out. We had to loiter for almost 20 minutes before my partner took the initiative and asked one of the bellboys to check us in - which he did.The bed was very comfortable and the room functional. I would not stay at this hotel again. It is easily within the £80-£110 per room category and not anything above.

Reception Staff frustratingly unknowledgeable and mentally slow with bad parking advice resulting in a £120 fine. They didn't even know the differences between rooms on offer. Breakfast expensive at £12 extra per person ? Staff encountered at every level were completely lacking in personality and also the English language. This experience was like staying in a Foreign Hotel, but not one in Kensington, London.

This hotel is situated in a side street...
This hotel is situated in a side street directly opposite the Natural History Museum, this was the first time I had ever visited London on my own as my daughters are now grown up. I choose this hotel because of the location as we had visited the museum several times in the past and so I was familiar with this part of London. The staff were very friendly and helpful when I asked for directions to other parts of London, without their help I would not of been able to pack so much into my couple of days. I managed to visit the V&A museum, Harrods, Westminster Abbey, the National Gallery, Trafalgar Square and Regents St. The hotel is exactly as described and extreamly pleasent to return to at the end of a long day, I certainly had no problem sleeping and was not aware of excess traffic noise, although the room I had was at the top of the stairs and the door could of had something to stop it slamming everytime someone came upstairs. But apart from that small glitch I will definately visit this hotel again next time with my daughters as I think they were amazed that Mum had such a good time as I am not use to traveling alone.I would like to pass on my thanks to all the staff.Linda

A real shame, I pay for a hotel mainly to sleep but sleeping was impossible on the bed provided, I could count the springs. A few hundred pounds a room on a comfortable mattress would have me returning but I will not return until the matresses are changed. Also beware that although Laterooms will allow you to reserve using Visa Delta, the hotel will not take it and I had to get cash.

We arrived at about 4.00 p.m Our bedroom was cold. We complained and were told by the porter that the central heating is only on for 5 hours at night (6.00 p.m. until 11.00 p.m.) and 5 hours in the morning.I asked to change rooms to a warmer one. Initially I was told nothing was available and eventually offered an inferior room which was as cold. Apparrently all the others were occupied. This may be true although we only saw about 5 other guests during our stay. With no warmer room available an electric heater was brought. By the time the room warmed up we had to go out.At the price of the hotel it seems unreasonable not to have a warm room.

Perfect location for my -night stay in London...
Perfect location for my 2-night stay in London. A small, delightfully presented hotel where the staff offered friendly, efficient, personal service so often not found in the large 'bed-factories'. My room was clean and pleasantly decorated and I slept well in the comfortable bed. All requisites advertised as being available in the room were there and refreshed daily. I even had the pleasure of a small balcony off my room! I attended a concert at Royal Albert Hall one evening - only a 10-minute safe and pleasant stroll from the hotel. South Kensington tube station with direct access to Theatreland, was only 5-minutes away and although I sadly didn't have time to visit them, the museums were only across the road - so big savings on taxi fares!Continental breakfast was superb - lovely fresh bread, cereals in jars (not horrid little packets!),delicious jam, marmalade etc served in jars and not those ghastly plastic, peel-back-lid pots full of jelly! I would thoroughly recommend this hotel, especially for a lady travelling on her own as I was and without a limitless budget; home from home is a good description of The Gallery Hotel!Only one tiny gripe - there were no radio stations tuned into the TV in my room - a little soft music would have been nice! However, not a problem as I was out most of the time.

I stayed here for 2 nights on a business trip. I tried to check in at Noon but was not allowed. When I checked in, I ordered a Room Service Breakfast which did not arrive and was not offered an explanation. One can imagine how grumpy one feels after waiting for breakfast that does not arrive! The staff didn't have any personal touch, and the sink in the bathroom only emptied very slowly. Good decor despite a rather dated infrastructure. Thought the lift was going to break down at any moment.
