Good placement, value questionable

I needed to be near to the Heathrow Express, and this achieved this. I was disappointed by my room: small; cramped shower room; tired looking decor and bedding; no wi fi in the room; original old window but in chronic need of renovation. it felt like a bed and brekkie in a converted house and not a hotel. Staff friendly. Would I stay there again? Well, if I had to. Sorry....

Nice little hotel, but everything really is little

Stayed here during New Year's with my girlfriend. The neighbourhood, Paddington, is very nice. The hotel is close to the subway (Paddington, on the Bakerloo line), railway station and Hyde Park. First two are a 2 minute walk. The park is a little further. Lets say 4 minutes. The hotel staff are friendly, the rooms are clean and internet is available for next to nothing.
The downside of the hotel is that everything is small. I'm 6'6'' (194cm) and our bed wasn't more than 120cmx190cm, which means that it was hardly big enough to fit me and my girlfriend and that my feet stuck out about 20cm. The room was about 6 square metres with a miniature bathroom in which I couldn't stand under the shower. Our toilet didn't even fit in the room and was one floor below our room, in a 'closet'. It is a private toilet though, which is nice.
On the other hand, the TV was big and has quite a lot of channels, which is nice.
The breakfast is pretty basic, but good enough.
All in all we had a fine stay, close to the Tube:
- In a nice, clean hotel, with friendly staff
- With a tiny room
- With a tiny bed and shower
- With a good TV
- With a private toilet one floor lower
- With a basic breakfast.

Last minute deal

I was aware that this booking was for a small room, so no issues with it being very small...
Good: staff were great, wifi worked well. Toilet small but clean. Nice flat screen TV.
Bad: Dated room, bedding okay but not happy to see (not my) hairs on the sheets. Shower curtain brown at bottom, blue at top. Net curtain torn and discoloured.
Some of the other rooms looked better, but overall this place is in need of a major revamp - not a place I would go back to unless nothing else was available.

My London experience

I needed easy access to Paddington with reasonable accomodation. i must say i have been well impressed. cheap and cheerful may come to mind, but you pay for what you get these days. the hotel area was fine for eating out, the breakfast was well presented and the staff were very pleasant and accomodating. okay the loo wasn't right next door to your room and the bedroom and shower would not be suitable for the 'larger' client, but all in all, very recommendable.

Ok to crash out in

I got to the hotel quite late but the night porter was pleasant. The room was on the fourth floor which was a bit of a walk but not the end of the world. The room was also quite small but for £55 a night you can't complain too much.
Good to crash in and sleep, other than that I would look else where....

Overnite show stopper

Reception wasn't sure of our arrival didn't have designated room.
Room was at the very top of hotel very steep stairs, Room was clean but electrical socket hanging of wall, bed over light didn't work. Found previouse customers belongings in room because he refused to stay in room and was moved. We stayed because we were only briefly staying in London a few hrs to go to the theater,

Good Enough!

Considering how cheap these rooms are for London they are worth having, its not the ritz but theyre clean, the shower was hot and the beds were comfy. breakfast was nothing special but it did the job. if you're looking for something fancy then stay somewhere else, if youre looking for a clean, cheap, accessible hotel then you wont go far wrong with this.

Friendly, well-managed, good value, convenient hotel

Can't fault the Falcon Hotel for value in a very convenient location, just a 100 yards from Paddington station. Helpful staff, especially at check in. Comfortable room. Hearty breakfast.

A super hidey hole from which to explore London

Budget hotel with warm and helpful staff. Unbelievably handy situation for Paddington station (45 second walk by my count) with a couple of nice pubs within spitting distance. I was in a miniscule single room on the fourth floor - as I am fit and have a sense of humour it was fine but at 5'10" tall I found the en suite toilet was a bit of a squeeze so larger travellers of any dimension may struggle with that particular room! Overall the room was clean, quiet and cosy and had everything you could need for a couple of nights near central London. Hotel felt relaxed and airy (there's a little terrace where you could sit out betwixt the rooftops and chill) but at the same time safe for a solo traveller. Would definitely use again as very convenient for lots of major attractions and staff lovely.

Poor value

At £110 this was poor value. My room was on the 4th floor up narrow stairs and there is no lift. The room was small and very shot, although it was a warm night. It had a cramped bathroom, with the smallest washbasin I've ever seen in a hotel. The bed was comfortable, though. The breakfast was nothing to write home about. If I had paid about £60-70 it would have been acceptable for 1 night, but at the price I paid it was definitely over-priced.

Very basic and not at all flexible in service - missed breakfast because the hotel was not willing to do this before 7.30am.

We reserved hotel last days before a trip. Have made the order because of a good arrangement (nearby station and city centre). I could not assume that the hotel will appear so bad. Scanty number even for one person. In the first day from a ceiling water dripped. Number in which us have moved, has appeared even worse. Though, appear, that it is impossible. In a bathroom it is difficult to wash because of terrible narrowness. The extract does not work, therefore in a room a mould smell. The toilet bowl does not have cover, therefore it is necessary to watch constantly that there has fallen nothing. Walls so thin that is audible as put forward boxes in other room. The strange door conducting in a cellar (in our room), was badly closed. All time seemed that from there someone will enter. It is impossible to push in such room of three persons. For two it too it is too small.

Terrible Hotel

Wanted a £20 deposit for a TV remote and took my booking for 2 nights but made me move rooms after 1 night. Just an appalling hotel that gives London a terrible image. Expensive, dirty, no customer service, what more do you need to know?
