Summary
The hotel was just what we needed as a place near to St Pancras Station for an early morning trip on the Eurostar. The room was very small with a tiny en-suite but clean enough with a comfortable bed and quiet enough for its location.
Summary
We stayed here for the price and as it would be a good base for travelling between euston, waterloo, and camden, it's such an excellent location being literally a minute walk from king's cross. The room was surprisingly nice with three comfy beds, telly, a clean/cosy toilet/shower, large wardrobe, desk and everything to make tea. It was everything we needed before heading off into London! Lovely high ceilings as well means the room isn't too cramped at all and being off the main road it's unbelievably quiet. Would definitely recommend for the room and price :)
Summary
For one night only basic as required cheap and clean, breakfast ok
Summary
Excellent value for money, clean room, friendly staff. Recommended to anyone on a limited budget.
Summary
Good welcome with simple check in/out arrangement. Room exactly as advertised, very clean and comfey bed++. A no frills full English breakfast well cooked. Very good value for money for London. I would recommend and use again myself should the need arise.
Summary
For a place to stay for one night while in London for a conference, this was fine. Service at breakfast could have been friendlier but the food was ok.
Summary
I stayed in a single room with shared bathroom. Room was small but enough for my needs. The staff were very friendly and things went smoothly. Location is great, very close to Kings Cross so perfect to explore London.
I travel every week to London and was that satisfied that I booked the hotel for my travels for a few weeks now in advance.
Staff helpful and pleasant. Room clean, beds comfortable but small. bathroom very compact. Dining room very small people lining up to have breakfast. Did the job for an overnight stay. Would use hotel again if needing local accomodation in area
Summary
Dirty room, faulty tv,dirty shower room (if you can call it a room, room 24)dirty carpet, door handles missing, breakfast was cold i could go on and on. 1 minute walk from st pancras was the only reason we stayed
Summary
Rooms very clean and only a walk across the road from king cross station and tube station
Summary
It's probably the cheapest good hotel you can find in central London. The staff were really helpful before and during the stay. They replied to my emails almost instantly and tried to help out whenever possible. The breakfast lady was very courteous and efficient. She happened to be one of the cleaning ladies as well. When I told her about a blocked drain, it was fixed the evening when I returned. The room was very clean and furniture looked brand new although they were over a year or two old. I can't praise them enough. I'm not sure if it's suitable for families, but certainly for lone travellers or couples.
Summary
When we arrived we had to book in at the reception which is over the road at the Central Hotel. We were then told that we were actually staying at the Central Hotel. This turned out to be a basic hotel but didn't have any problems bedding clean and breakfast ok, Our party was 2 children and 1 Senior citizen
Summary
Booking in very helpful, room very small but fine for our one night. Very hot night so we had the window open, making it rather noisy from passers by and Euston Road.
Summary
Had to stay here after missing the last train home. That is quite simply the only reason I would recommend anyone stay here. My room was tiny, had a very small single bed, in fact the entire width of the room was probably only that of two single beds. Room was clean, staff were ok, but only really saw them to pick up the key, I was leaving early in the morning and had to use the key drop off. £89, a more fair price would have been £59.
Summary
Expected a poor room but was pleasantly surprised.
Room in good condition and clean - but bathroom was tiny, and very tied
I had a three bedroom room with three single beds - and there was only one of me - so there was room. Overall not bad
Great location, room for 4 people was small but adequate. Beds were comfortable and clean.
Breakfast was basic but fine.
Good value for money and good for a night or two.
The hotel is very accessible to all transportations. It is in a very good locations. Very clean and very accomodating staff. I like the place very quiet. It is only 3 minutes walk from kingscross station There is a public library nearby where you can just drop by and have a read while waiting for your train . I will surely recommend this to my friends.
Summary
We stayed at fairway on route to paris.it is in an ideal location for access to st.pancras, kings cross and euston stations.the room was small but clean.we had to leave at 5.30 am to catch eurostar and the staff left us a cold breakfast, which was very thoughtful.we also had free wi-fi which was good for the younger ones..
Summary
There was a fault with the sliding bathroom door and the response from the hotel to fix this problem was non-existent. I was told someone would come and fix door after 9pm but no one came
Summary
The accommodation was basic but clean and comfortable. For a short stay this was ideal. Breakfast was fine - could have brown bread available rather then just white. The staff were very friendly
Summary
I booked a room at Fairway Hotel but on arrival found its under the same management as the Central Hotel across the road. They gave me a room in the latter and it had obviously been recently re-vamped with brand new furniture and fittings, all of good quality. The room was small, but big enough for one. It even had a small desk. The shared toilet and shower were very convenient (on same floor) and clean. If I could be sure to get a room of this standard I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
The breakfast was fine though not very exciting. For example, why not offer brown toast as well as white?
- good location
- stuff (ladies at brekfast) was not friendly, no energy in them; people (tourists) expect at least a warm good morning or some welcome words
- we got the room in the basement and the underground was heard during the night
Conveniently situated within easy walking distance from Kings Cross .. although be aware of the constant traffic and train noise throughout the night! The rooms we had (1 double and 1 single) were clean, but very small and basic, and being situated right at the top of the building up three flights of steep stairs, quite a climb! Didn't like having to share the only toilet and shower with the other rooms on our floor .. and as our room was right next to the toilet, a bit unpleasent hearing others using, it especially throughout the night. Breakfast was acceptable, but language a bit of a problem with the waiting staff as they didn't understand when we asked for scrambled egg instead of fried egg (with the slice of bacon and small sausage and spoonful of beans), and so we ended up with just a plate of scrambled eggs! The very small eating area is right in the basement of the building (4 flights of stairs to climb in order to return to our rooms) and we had to wait for some time before a table became free, but all in all, if you're just looking for somewhere to sleep and dump your stuff, I guess you get what you pay for.
Summary
Location is really this hotels redeeming feature, located pretty much opposite Kings Cross station. We stayed in a double room with ensuite. However, the double bed was actually a 3/4 sized bed and really not large enough for me and my boyfriend. The room itself was barely bigger than the bed itself and the ensuite was pretty much a cupboard with a toilet, sink and shower squeezed in. As the shower curtain was ineffectual and the bathroom door didn't close properly, it did mean that the carpet by the bed on one side was wet after showering. Water in the shower was nice and hot though. Basically i've paid less for bigger and better rooms, but probably not the worst you'd find in this price bracket.
Summary
Just what I was looking for the 2 night s that I was there in London, cheap and clean
Fairway is a good quality hotel. One night I stayed in a single room, which was very small but clean. The second night I stayed in a twin bed room, which was quite big and clean. I think that for a hotel in central London, Fairway was very good. The staff were very friendly. I would book a night at this hotel again.
Summary
Very enjoyable stay , hotel is in a great location , room very clean , please get satellite tv though ! Would definitely book again and would recommend it to anyone
Summary
Really convenient ( but basic ) for what I required in London at this time. Another pillow would have been nice though !! Pretty clean, although there were hand marks on the wall directly above the tea shelf which I easily cleaned off myself. So obvious that it was disappointing that the cleaner hadn't noticed . Otherwise excellent value. The staff were polite and helpful.
Summary
This was good value with the late rooms discount. I booked the Fairway, but the room was actually in the Central across the road. Although you can hear trains which might be a problem in the early morning if you are a light sleeper, the hotel was fairly quiet. Very convenient location for Bloomsbury and the British Museum etc., and you couldn't get much closer to St Pancras and the British Library. The room was fine, with a shared shower/lavatory between two rooms (so no queues for the shower!). The staff were great; friendly and efficient. Breakfast was fine, although the dining room is quite small and busy so there were queues for spaces. The room was generally clean and comfortable, the only negative really was that the window didn't seem very secure, however, this wasn't a great issue as it just looked out onto an internal courtyard.
Summary
I recently travelled to London for the first time with two of my friends. We had no idea where we were going and were hoping for the best when we stepped of the train. When we came out of Kings Cross we found the hotel within minutes as on their site it gives excellent directions as to where the hotel is situated. The staff at Fairways are kind, welcoming and extremely helpful. The hotel is situated in the most ideal location, as it is a 3 minute walk to the Kings Cross and Pancras Train Station. I would definitely stay here agin and would recommend it to others who were planning a London trip!
Summary
The room was small and a little tired however it was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a reasonable full English. Excellent location and price.
Summary
Excellent location for St Pancras & Kings Cross.
Room clean, warm & tiny, staff a bit impersonal.
Met my expectations for a budget hotel.
Very convienient, close to Kings Cross overland and underground rail for arrival and departure. Clean room with lots of towels; tea; coffee. Third stay in as many months.
Summary
The hotel was in an ideal location. The room was small but adequate for one night. The shower didn't work properly but that wasn't a major issue and had we been staying longer we would have mentioned it. All in all a clean, friendly hotel and good value for money.
Summary
Very basic B&B but just what we needed. Much cheaper than other hotels around and was in walking distance of Euston and Kings Cross Stations which was perfect. Definitely recommend it to people on a tight budget.
Summary
Took the EuroStar over for an overnight, and found your hotel to be just what was needed for an easy overnight. Centrally located made getting to and from the station a breeze.
Would use again the next time i visit.
Room was very compact, good use of limited space. Couldn't hear neighbouring rooms, but some noise from the street. Had to share a bathroom because the single room with ensuite I booked through an agent wasn't available when they checked with hotel. Also, was put in the Central Hotel, across the road from the Fairway, but I don't think there's much of a difference. Difficult to get value for money in that area.
Summary
Unfortunately, you get what you pay for and this was no exception! The room was tiny and cramped and not very clean. The bathroom was even tinier and smelt awful! The window wouldn't shut properly so the traffic noise was horrendous! I didn't stay for the breakfast.
The upside is that it is so close to Kings Cross. One night is ok. Any more is not worth contemplating!
The hotel itself is pretty straightforward nothing amazing, although having a sink inside the room is convenient specially cause the bathroom is shared. Unfortunately this is the down side, the time i stayed there, the shared bathroom for rooms 4 & 5 was not very well kept, i noticed that the bathroom at the other wing of the hotel was much better looked after. But am not fuzzy, besides that no major complains, i would recommend if you're a light sleeper since you can hear the trains but considering the great location, what more can you expect.
