Whilst the location of the hotel was extremely convenient , very close to Kings Cross/St Pancras stations, the overpowering smell of chlorine bleach in the room made it unpleasant. The hotel dining room was too small to accommodate all guests and subsequently we were unable to have breakfast in the hotel despite having paid for bed and breakfast.

If your just looking for somewhere to throw your bags down and set off exploring from, I recomend the Fairway & Central sister hotels.
The room we had was small. But for the amount of time we spent in it, it was great. The bed was comfy and made fresh each day. The bathroom was small! But the power shower made up for its size.
The breakfast room could only hold approx 20 people at a time. The breakfast itself was basic. 1 egg, 1 sausage, 1 piece of bacon and beans. But the toast, choice of tea or coffee and OJ made up for it. Dont get me wrong, it was very filling. There was also cereal options and tomatos and cheese.
The hotel is located not even 5 mins walk away from Kings Cross tube station. With links to most underground services.
I would use this hotel again.

The room was clean and pleasant and the hotel staff were friendly when I spoke to them. It was very close to St. Pancras/ King's Cross station and about a 6 minute walk away from Euston station. There are a lot of stairs but we didn't mind this. Breakfast was included but we opted to stay in bed so I am not sure what the food is like.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room was very clean and tidy. All that was required of the accommodation in truth, although a bar would have been beneficial as London appeared to shut down by 11:00 on the Sunday evening of our stay!!

Very friendly staff. Small room at the top of the hotel with rather inadequate storage space. Would have been a bit small for two. Breakfast room was small and you had to share tables. Girl serving breakfast could not have been nicer or more helpful and was giving refills of orange juice and extra toast to those who wanted it.
Was worried that the fire exit was down the stairs. Being at the top we would all have been fried if the staircase was on fire.
At 59 it felt expensive compared to similar in other capital cities.

Pretty nice place, v convenient with it being so close to King's Cross. Clean room, no problems at all. Only negative comments I have are the lack of a lift and my room being on the 2nd floor, so had to lug suitcases up lots of stairs. Also cleaning lady came in my room at 10am while I was still asleep..didn't have to book out till 11 so I'm not sure why. She left v quickly when she noticed ppl were still in there though.
Overall, not bad. Good value for money anyway.

The hotel is close to St. Pancras Station but not on the main street so quite quiet. The rooms are veery small but sufficiently equipped. The bed was horrible: not long enough for me (1.7m) and making awkward noises everytime I moved only a little bit. Breakfast is ok, just not too much space in the breakfast room, so we had to wait a little. I would stay there again if i got another bed.

I was a bit sceptical when arriving at kings cross and entering the hotel but after staying there for 3 nights i have nothing but good things to say about the hotel(Except the breakfast thats included in the price - i would rather go to the local pub to have a decent english breakfast than the one we got served at the hotel - but what to expect when its included) First of all the guy in the reception did an excelent job to help us with all kinds of stuff, realy a helpful guy, and the rooms where much better than you would expect for that price. Of course this is isnt a place you would bring your girlfriend for a relaxing weekend in London but an excelent place for sleeping over and storing your things, cause in my world hotel rooms are made for this. Me and my 2 friends had a faboulus weekend and the hotel will be on top on my list of places to call next time im visiting London.

we arrived in a rain storm, the hotel dosnt have its own reception so we were directed to another hotel across the road (by way of a note on the door) to check in. the receptionist was freindly enough even borrowed me an umberella for the evening. we thought we had a room with facilities as their web site said that all rooms were unsuite but the one we had been allocated didnt so we had to pay an extra 27 for a toilet and shower for one evening. the room was very dated and the bathroom was very small and had a horrible smell, we couldnt get a signal on the tv for any channel and as we would have had to walk across the road in the rain deceided not to bother complaining. Breakfast was in a small basement room and was served by a girl that couldnt understand english we had trouble explaing that my daughter was vegetarian and couldnt eat sausage or bacon. eventually she ordered beans and egg which took forever to arrive and was full of grease and cold when it did. would not recomend this place to any one.

The staff where excellent - polite, welcoming and friendly. The hotel is actually on split site - half on one side of the road and half on the other. My only complaint is the dining room - which was a bit of a squeeze. Other than that - this comes highly recommended.

The room was very small, but had very good beds (considering the price) and we got an extra matress on the x-tra bed free of charge! We also asked for extra pillows and sheets and it was in place when we got back the same evening. Not even expensive hotels are good at this! All in all, the communication with the hotel and its service was excellent!
A few tips for a top score on the room:
1. The room would score even better if it had been equipped with a mini-bar or small fridge. Family rooms tend to be booked by people with children (we had two teenagers) and it would have been great if we could have had the possibilty to keep stuff cool!
2. As the room is so small it is difficult to move around 4 people when only one can pass through the room at once. So why not change the two single beds into a bunk-bed, and free some room to put in a small sofa.
3. There were few places to place our stuff. So more knobs on the wall to hang clothes would be good (and very easy and cheap to do).
This would give the room top score:)
Oh, and one more thing, please start offering the possibilty of getting fried and not just poached eggs for breakfast:)

Very easy access from the main London stations and therefore excellently positioned for exploring the city either on public transport or on foot. Staff were welcoming, courteous and helpful. The breakfast was very good and set you up for the day. Very clean room. Rather on the small side but if you are there for sleeping purposes only this is fine. We were very happy with all aspects of this hotel and would stay there again.

The lady at the reception was really unacceptable. While she was answering private calls on the phone we and an old lady had to wait about 10 minutes until she decided to look up. The first thing she told me in a rough tone was that I should open the window. Adding to this she was giving wrong informations. Therefore I rated the hotel's sevice that bad. The rating does not concern the other hotel staff who was really friendly and competent. If the hotel would get rid of this receptionist it would almost match it's selfdescription.

Very convenient location, just 2 minutes from Kings Cross train and underground stations. The staff were very friendly and helpful and allowed us to leave our bags in the rooms when we arrived at 11 a.m even though check in is normally at 1 p.m. The reception staff also allowed us to leave our bags with them for the day after we had checked out at no extra charge. Rooms were compact, but were clean and had everything necessary. Breakfast was fine, but one drawback was that the breakfast room is quite small and we had to wait one day for 5 minutes before a table was free. I would go back to the hotel as it was good value and the location was so convenient.

Although the hotel was convenient for Kings Cross Station I was very dissapointed with the room. We were given a basement room which was obviously meant for staff, the fire drill message mentioned helping to get guests out and attacking the fire. It was very noisy next to the kitchen and we were awakened very early by staff arriving and shouting greetings to each other and slamming doors. We asked to be moved for the second night ..this time to the top floor up lots of stairs. The window was cracked and quite drafty. The breakfast was OK but service was poor and we didn't bother going for it the second day.

This is the second time I have stayed at the Fairway Hotel and I will definately use it on future visits to London. On both visits all of the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was small but perfectly acceptable for a city break. It was warm and clean. I am a vegetarian and when I asked for no bacon at breakfast I was given an extra egg in its place! Some of the other hotels in the street look a little run down from the outside the Fairway does not. Both of the rooms I have stayed in were in good decorative order. In this price range I would have no hesitation in recommending the Fairway as an ideal choice.

I could put up with the room being incredibly small, however the paper-thin walls meant you heard *everything* from the rooms on either side, especially the group of young men talking long and loud into the night. To be fair, the night porter did ask them to quieten down, but they started up again as soon as he had gone downstairs again.
On the positive side, the staff were very friendly and the location is very convenient for train and tube.

We had asked for a non-smoking room but the room smelt of cigarettes and there was an ashtray. my sister and I had carried our heavy cases up 3 flights of stairs and felt too tired to go down again to complain.! The dining room in the basement was small and clean and typically for the British, people feel reluctant to share tables. we were quite happy to do so and the food was cooked to order. Overall, considering what we had paid we were satisfied.
