Overall the hotel was very comfortable and the facilities adequate, especially for an overnight stay. That said, it;s located on what seemed like one of the busiest roads in London and my room was situated at the front of the hotel facing the road. The traffic noise lessened as the night went on but never stopped all night (I know this as I was awake through most of it). If I ever had cause to stay at this hotel again, I would definitely take ear plugs or better still perhaps the hotel could provide them when you check in.

Something of a let down

First room was extremely smelly. We changed. Second room had dirt on all carpet edges. Toilet bowl was cracked. Beds not comfortable at all. Bedside table broken. Had to request shower cap and collect from reception. Breakfast very poor and not available at advertised time (0930). Scrambled eggs like rubber, dried bacon, poor drinks machine, had to ask for cold water, croissants unrecognisable. A. M. , Denbigh, North Wales.

Good standard of accommodation and nice bathroom with double shower would stay again

It would have been good if the vending machines were kept topped up, they ran out of water as did the bar - only offering sparkling.
Breakfast was poorly cooked but if it had been prepared in a better way the selection and amount was very good. Very stale croissants

Quite a lot of road noise even with the windows shut. Problems with key cards for the room which had to be taken back to reception twice as wouldn't work and although we were within the times stated for breakfast there didn't seem to be much left and what was available was not up to a decent standard.

Surprisingly pleasant, good value for money

We had read various reviews about the hotel so didn't know what to expect. The room was plenty big enough for two adults and two young children, and clean and tidy. Breakfast was great, with a variety of choice. We were very pleased overall and would definitely recommend.

Could be better

Right next door to a noisy pub, but on the plus side only over the road from the tube station giving great access.
The room had a leak under the wash hand basin and the room was a little crowded with the sofa bed down.
Breakfast would have been better, but for the hair in the egg (staff replenishing food trays didn't have hair nets on!)
Extra half day car parking charged at only £4, which is a bargain for a secure car park close to the tube station

Holiday Inn review

We were placed in an adjoining room, which seemed to have no soundproofing at all - we could hear every word the couple next door were saying, or shouting, at times. After calling the reception at 1am to ask them to speak to the adjoining room, the noise quietened slightly, but was still enough to keep us awake.
We could also hear people returning from a night out - the doors seem to be paper thin - would not recommend this hotel on a weekend in that case, unless you have earplugs. Otherwise, the rooms were fairly nice.
Breakfast was average - scrambled eggs and toast, croissants and hot drinks/juices.

Good Location

Hotel is easy to find and in a good location, right across from colliers wood tube station, easy acess to London city centre.
The rooms are clean and comfortable but ours was a little small for our family of 4.
Breakfast consisted of bacon, scrambled eggs and toast, yummm!
Staff are friendly ang eager to help.
All in all a good hotel, would stay here again (unless my lottery numbers come up then its either Claridges or the Savoy)

Tiny and nice hotel

We spend 5 nights in this hotel. Hotel had tiny but clean rooms for family of 4. All You need for trip to London was there. Tube station just outside hotel, shops on place. One thing I would make better it is breakfasts - You can get borred of same breakfast every day, not a big choice, but quality OK.

OK, but not the best

Checked in for one night for London interview. Req quiet room but was given one at front of hotel which is on main road and no sound proofing. Was moved easily to another room at back of hotel, but could still here traffic at night. Nice quality room and bathroom with TV, tea/coffee etc. Requested ironing board but was expected to lug this to/from reception myself, quite surprising for Holiday Inn!! When booked said free complimentary b/fast, which was fine. At hotel, they are advertising that is now a free "hot" b/fast... eggs and bacon included... eggs were like sand, cooked to death, and didnt touch bacon as it was still grunting. Urgh. Room experience, fine. Hotel experience, poor. Receptionists helpful. Checkout slooooooowwwww....

Noisy

The check in staff were very friendly but that was the best part of our stay.
This hotel is on a busy South London street and it was exceptionally wet and windy. This did not make for a good nights sleep as there was constant noise.
We had stayed here before we had children and found the room with a sofa bed too small for a family of 4.
Breakfast was uninspiring.

So so...

I was only looking for a place to sleep at as I had things to do outside for the whole day. It is definitely not a hotel to spend time in, but again its an 'express' hotel. rooms were clean but walls are thin so expect some noise. On the other hand the private car park facility although priced at 9 STG/day, was a life saver for me.. staff was very nice and helpfull at all times. The only dissappointment for me was the breakfast. Not that it tasted bad, but there was just scrambled eggs and a saussage to eat. nothing more worthwhile! so I just went out and ate at the local subways. Considering all the factors, I can say its a little overpriced but that didnt bothered me much. Overall a good place to stay overnight.

Weekend Break

The hotel is centrally situated near all local amenities and in easy walking distance to the tube, as well as the supermarket.
As it is on the main road it is a little noisy, and we requested a room at the back of the hotel.
The parking was underground and you had to pay extra, for which we didn't mind as it was well worth it.
The breakfast was OK, the croissants were dry and cheap. But the rest of the selection was adequate.

A poor experience

The rooms are as small as they could be, the wifi internet is £6.50 an hour as opposed to being free in other hotels, this makes the charge quite high if you use this facility a lot. The Breakfast is a joke, Bacon and scrambled egg is the choice and toast and cereals (poor choice) or Croissants, that is it . They only had two draught pumps, Lager and Guiness, both were off for the two nights we stayed there, so I had bottles of Stella out of the fridge which were not cold! I had a small glass of red wine at £4.80. First and last time I stay at a Holiday Inn.

Great location right opposite the tube station, tooting just up the road for great shopping. nice hotel, rooms a good size for a family. only negative comment is that it was a continental breakfast rather than full english, buts that's not the end of the world. bacon and scrambled eggs were cooked now and then but it was pot luck if you were there when they were brought out. would go back if i needed to.

Noisy, from the pub nextdoor and tired/shabby rooms

We had no sleep the first night as the hotel backed onto a pub, they were open until 3 am. It was excessively noisy. The room was very shabby and the seal around the windows was dirty and mouldy and did not feel good. It felt dirty. With the second bed in place there was no room to walk on the floor so it was not really a family room at all, it felt 2 x beds squeezed into a standard double room. The bathroom was a bit basic and felt grotty as the mirrors were peeling and the toilet flush/handle was barely hanging on and it was also mouldy.
I am a vegetarian and there was nothing for me to eat for breakfast no fruit nothing what so ever. Not really a proper continental breakfast at all.

Average

This is a fairly average hotel, very much in the same vein as most Holiday Inns. Basic room, basic facilities throughout. My room was clean and fairly well maintained. Had a TV with a few channels on it and a desk I could work at. The staff were helpful enough and fairly professional. The breakfast wasn't very good though - a standard buffet with some juice, toast (which you made yourself) and a coffee machine. Some dodgy looking eggs and anemic bacon that I steered clear of.
The location isn't bad though. Right opposite Colliers Wood tube on the Northern Line, 5 minutes in a taxi to the centre of Wimbledon. Nice pub next door, some decent restaurants nearby. I suppose it's a London hotel, but the accomodation is nothing to shout about in light of the price which is not particularly cheap.

Booked the day before travelling, 1 adult , 3 teenagers.

We booked for a impromutu trip in the half term holiday and needed something that wouldn't stetch the budget as there was only one paying adult! The hotel was easy to find, straight opposite the tube station which was great after a heavy day of sightseeing. The staff were welcoming and the room just big enough for the four of us, which was ok since we spent very little time in it except to shower and sleep ( would have been plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 small children) The water was hot and the room clean and modern. Breakfast was a real bonus(expected a continental but was surprised to see bacon/ egg toast etc) and plentiful enough to last us until a late lunch and in comfortable, relaxed surroundings. Also a bonus that breakfast served until 10.00 at a weekend. We didn't use the hotel bar but it looked fresh and comfortable. Check out was straight forward and staff very pleasant. we all had a lovely stay!
