There is a reason why this hotel is cheap for London.
My room was perhaps the worst room I have ever stayed in. It had graffiti on the wall and an incredibly worn carpet which had, obviously at some point in time, an iron dropped on it. This left the perfect imprint of an iron next to the bed. I guess both the graffiti and iron mark could mean the room was artistic.
Another problem was that the room door lock did not seem the most secure. Whilst this in itself is not critical as it was a working lock, the fact that I turned up at 3am in the morning and was let in without even giving my name by the night porter did not say much about the hotel security. I would suggest the management at least ask you to give your name and room number before letting you in.
That said, the room was incredibly cheap and so if you want a pristine room with a key-card lock, no iron burn on the floor and no graffiti on the wall, I suggest that you fork out more than double what you will pay for this hotel. I would actually stay here again for a 1 night stay if I was out partying in London due to it's inexpensive nature. It was ideal for my stay, the staff that I spoke to were very pleasant. It is incredibly easy to get to and is a 3-5 minute walk from Kings Cross and the Underground.
Whilst I never ate breakfast, the smell as I was checking out was brilliant and I wish I had the time to have eaten there.
This review may seem harsh, but this hotel served it's purpose and I would recommend it for a 1 night stay with the proviso that you get what you pay for.
