Cheap and cheerful

Room was clean and basic. My only real problem with the room was that the radiator was stuck on (no controller) and while it was a cold night I had to open the window to sleep - which meant the occasional loud noise in the otherwise quiet street disturbed me. Also, as an environmentalist, I shudder a little at the amount of energy (as well as money!) wasted in this way.
Breakfast wasn't great but was okay. Very busy when I went down and the staff were struggling to cope.

I came to London as my grandson was in Great Ormond Street Hospital, I chose this hotel sa it offered the best value for money and was reasonably close to the hospital, overall money well spent.

Basic

Room was ok for the price but very basic. Staff at reception were polite but hardly welcoming. When my boyfriend was pickpocketed I asked for the local police station phone number to report it - I was told 'it's nothing to do with us' and finally given a phone number which turned out to be for a guy called steve! If you want a cheap stay near transport links then it's fine, if you're looking for more then don't bother.

Clean room, shower was ok although not much pressure, broken shaver light so couldn't see properly

All in all good price for the accomadation, most things worked ok except shaver light, bit disappointed when bringing a friend back and being told that I am not allowed visitors in my room. Hotel pointed this out on Thuringia board but how is a person booking online supposed to see that from there. This should have been put on website.

You get what you pay for.

There is a reason why this hotel is cheap for London.
My room was perhaps the worst room I have ever stayed in. It had graffiti on the wall and an incredibly worn carpet which had, obviously at some point in time, an iron dropped on it. This left the perfect imprint of an iron next to the bed. I guess both the graffiti and iron mark could mean the room was artistic.
Another problem was that the room door lock did not seem the most secure. Whilst this in itself is not critical as it was a working lock, the fact that I turned up at 3am in the morning and was let in without even giving my name by the night porter did not say much about the hotel security. I would suggest the management at least ask you to give your name and room number before letting you in.
That said, the room was incredibly cheap and so if you want a pristine room with a key-card lock, no iron burn on the floor and no graffiti on the wall, I suggest that you fork out more than double what you will pay for this hotel. I would actually stay here again for a 1 night stay if I was out partying in London due to it's inexpensive nature. It was ideal for my stay, the staff that I spoke to were very pleasant. It is incredibly easy to get to and is a 3-5 minute walk from Kings Cross and the Underground.
Whilst I never ate breakfast, the smell as I was checking out was brilliant and I wish I had the time to have eaten there.
This review may seem harsh, but this hotel served it's purpose and I would recommend it for a 1 night stay with the proviso that you get what you pay for.

Very poor reception, you had to pay on arrival. The room was the dingiest I ever stayed in.

The room was a matchbox size, the lighting was extremely poor, no shade and no bedside lamp. The kettle was dirty, the toilet was in closet you could barely be able to clean your bum in it. The shower box was rather minging with no shampoo and only one hand towel. There was no phone in the room and radiator sat beside your head so your head was boiling all night. The Walls were covered in a poorly looking, poorly maintained paper that was falling off every corner. My worst experience of a hotel in Britain so far. Cheap and nasty stuff. Wouldn't advise anyone to stay in it.

Interesting

As far as closeness to St Pancras and how far we had to walk late at night i'd give the european top marks, the room was ok and the en suite was a cupboard but for £100 for 2 people it did provide value for money. Not sure about staying there again though!!

Would recommend this accomodation.

Clean, pleasant hotel with friendly and efficient service. A very convenient situation and remarkably peaceful given its position.
