Austere exterior to this hotel adjacent to Regents Park.Excellent location if you want enjoy the ambience of Saint Johns Wood ,Swiss cottage and Hampstead Heath. Interior pleasant and spacious with plenty of lifts.Service at the reception desks efficient. The double room was modern ,roomy and well decorated. The room was very clean apart from some dust above the very high picture rail. Bathroom a little small but chic design and clean.Bit disappointed to have a view over the carpark as we were looking forward to seeing over Lords cricket ground.

Really nice hotel, stayed here for a couple of nights, excellent servie from the staff there, in particular they really impressed me, the room was lovely too, we got one of the recently refurbished rooms which are really tastefully done, the location is great, close to some major attractions and easy to get to the rest of london in a fairly short space of time. Put it this way, i took the wife away for the weekend and she was pretty impressed at where i'd taken her so it did the trick, the only thing that let's it down is the view, but then that's not why you go to a hotel in London.

service was excellent, very friendly and helpful, the main hotel was beautiful, our room was pleasant enough, clean but smelt a bit musty in the bathroom ! very comfortable bed and considering the size of the hotel it was pretty quiet during the night. We didnt actually spend much time in the hotel as we only used it as a pit stop so we could see U2 at wembley so for us it was perfect, close to the tube and we were able to park the car there which was one of our main concerns

On Arrival, the staff are friendly, curtious and pleasent, the hotel is clean and well presented, the room was fantastic, clean, but our room although nice well , the TV, hairdryer and kettle did not work, rang through to housekeeping, who said they would be there streight away didnt arrive until we had gone out approx 5 to 6 hours, the new equipment didnt work also, so must have has a problem with electrics but again this wasnt solved whilst we were guests, so customer service although at face value was ok but when faced with a problem were not very quick at dealing with it quick and efficeintly, I also thought that the food menu in the room was very expensive and the menu very short, I would personally not pay 7-00 for a ham or cheese and tomarto sandwich, the room rate didnt include breakfast which was appauling

Was really happy with our stay at the Danubius, the staff were all very efficient and friendly. In a nice area of London, and within close distance of bus and tube stops.
The only thing was when we arrived, we had booked 2 twin rooms, and were told on arrival that the hotel had overbooked the twins, but had allocated us 2 double rooms which were next to each other (which I had e-mailed requesting to be near to each other, as in the past we have arrived at other hotels to find we are no way near to each, not even on the same floor!), it was a problem to us, but can imagine could be awkward for others.
Apart from that, had a great stay, would definately stay at the Danubius again.

Rooms were clean and facilities adequate. Reception staff friendly and informative. We did not experience the restaurant during our stay. A lovely hotel, welcoming staff, comfortable hotel and excellent breakfast. Happy to pay the late rooms rate! A little concerned at first that the nearest tube station wasn't on a particularly accessible line but soon became adept at navigating the bus system and actually preferred the buses in the end!! You certainly pay for the room due to location - next to Lords, certainly would not pay the full asking price of 299 for a standard room. Quite small but comfortable - would only want to stay for one night and thankfully that was all it was. No real view from room and it had quite a 'dark' feel to it.

I travelled from Bristol Uni and met mum who had been in London for a meeting. We had a great trip. The hotel seemed quite grand but the staff were very friendly. Our room was newly refurbished and beautifully decorated. Very contemporary.
We didn't eat there as we really only used it as a base. On Saturday we walked from the hotel past Regents Park and London Zoo via Primrose Hill to Camden Lock. A beautiful half hour walk on a lovely sunny day. We spent several hours at Camden Market and then Oxford St. Collected our luggage at 5pm from the concierge. Would definitely stay again.
Was a bit daunted when I arrived as the reception staff couldn't find my LateRooms booking, so, with 3 other guests I was made to wait for 25 minutes whilst they tried to find it. When they did I was given a key and sent up to the 6th floor (make sure you ask for a room on the upper floors as there is a tube directly underneath) - I got to my room and was very pleased as it was excellent. Overlooking the cricket ground and very clean and stylish - the cleaning staff are obviously a major asset to this hotel and clearly work very hard. Only down-sides to this place were that a) I would not pay 299 a night - get the LateRooms price - and b) the car park charges are horrific. I arrived at 7.00pm on Saturday and left at 12.15pm on Sunday. There is a 24-hour charge of 20 (a rip off) which they said 'restarts' at 12 noon - hence they tried to charge me 40 for just over 17 hours' stay. I told them they could forget that and after some arguments we agreed I would only pay the 20. This left a sour taste in my mouth and as a consequence of the reception staff's rude manner I sadly will not be going back to what is actually a decent hotel, when you get past the Stalinist-era reception (people AND decor)!

We decided at the last minute to have a weekend break in London to celebrate my boyfriend's 30th birthday. This hotel had a cheap deal on so was perfect - located centrally enough that we could pretty much get anywhere with minimum of time and effort. Although I have to say I probably wouldn't have paid full price for the room as it was on a corner and suffered from being oddly shaped. It was big enough...just not as big as expected. Everything else was perfect though.

Good review here, polite and discreet concierge, front desk girls were sharp and professional, room was good (ask for a refurbished room), bar was expensive, breakfast was expansive - included cereals and fruits *plus* full English *plus* full continental selection of cold meats; all you can eat for a tenner. Overnight parking was 25 on site. Great location for Lords cricket ground, not so close to the tube or local restaurants, coffee shops or pubs. The walk to any of these takes you through a marginally dodgy area which might scare a woman. Loses one point on VFM for the 3.50 each coffees at the bar.

I have only one gripe with this hotel. i have stayed here before, and had a very pleasant experience. This time i had my laptop and called ahead to make sure they had wireless and/or broadband. They said they did. When i arrived the wireless was not working. The broadband 'worked', but was the most pathetic speed and impossible to use. i called the front desk to complain and they said they company they use to provide the internet services was having problems with their server, and had been all day. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE to me. A third party company that does nothing but provide internet access should never have one server - they should be equipped and ready. i need online access to do work during my travels - it is imperative i have access.
Also, i can't believe the hotel charges so much for internet access. something like 6 sterling for four hours. many hotels now offer it gratis to business travellers. especially when you look at the price of the hotel room, i think it should be part of the service. not an extra.
That said, i must point out that the hotel staff are excellent. The hotel was chosen for our visit because it claimed to have disabled facilities. The room was small and there was barely room to get my wife's wheelchair to the bed and not room to turn around. The bathroom had just enough room to get the wheelchair in but then the door had to be opened to turn round to the basin to wash hands. There was a wet room type shower but with no seat so little use for someone who cannot stand.
The restaurant involved two flights of steps for which there were chair lifts (like a home stair lift but for the chair to roll onto). The first member of staff who tried to help did not know how to operate it. The second kept asking how heavy was the chair so we did not use it as we did not want either to be accused of breaking it or to get stuck. We therefore had to go a distance down the road to find an alternative, with the power on the wheelchair failing.
We recommend that this hotel is not included in your list of disabled friendly hotels.

We booked a double room and when we arrived were allocated a twin, which was corrected after a grumble from the receptionist. The room we were given was on the top floor, with an attic-style staircase from the main door up to what looked like grotty staff quarters with a fire exit door in the room. The standard of this room was 2 star if any. We requested a room change and the room we were given was much better - why did they give us the grotty option when a decent, recently refurbished room was available? However, I would still not rate this hotel as a 4 star.
We were running late for an engagement so called reception to arrange a cab for when we got downstairs. They said they would but had forgotten when we got there. Then it took 10 minutes for the door man to get a cab and he came in and beckoned a party who had only just arrived and gave it to them. He looked embarrassed when we approached him - he had forgotten we were waiting! Very very poor.

Make sure you ask for one of the recently refurbished rooms. They all have 42" plasmas, internet, fridge, trouser press, decent size bed and bathroom. The hotel room was perfectly adequate, but if I hadn't got a saving of 210 via laterooms (the normal rate is actually 299 a night, contrary to what it says on the site), I would have been extremely disappointed. I stayed in a Travel lodge earlier this week, and I wouldn't say there was any significant difference in the size of the room, the cleanliness or the facilities in the Danubius. I would hazard a guess that the elevated rate is to do with the location: it's in Regents Park, overlooking Lords Cricket ground, and if you're used to paying 300 a night for fairly standard accommodation, then there's nothing wrong with this hotel. If you're thinking of staying here as a treat, then don't expect anything special. Oh, and watch out for extra charges. There's a sign in Reception that says that if you put any services on your credit card while you stay there, there's a 50 charge.

Unfortunately, the room photograph used on LateRooms website was that of a "refurbished" room. (Refurbishment works were in progress on two floors at the time of our stay). We were therefore disappointed when the rooms we had on the 5th floor were unrefurbished and nothing like the photograph. However, considering the price actually paid for late booking compared to what the normal rates are, it was good value for money. We felt the 3 course carvery in the restaurant had a good choice of food, an acceptable quality and at 16.50 to be good value.

I have stayed at the Danubius on several occasions, and will continue to do so, the main reasons being; location, ease of access by car, parking and internet access. The quality of the room is a bit pot luck, some are fine others are less than perfect. On this occasion I was given a room with a dissabled shower, which if I am honest was a little off putting. I usually don't arrive until after midnight and only stay for 1 or 2 nights hence the room quality is not a big issue for me.

Although I would stay here again, and i would recommend it to a friend, it's simply because of the price and the location. It's a 15 minute walk to the Zoo or to Baker Street. We got a smoking room, unfortunately the girlfriend smokes. The room smelt awful, had achient features and had a tube track running underneath it. We saw a sign behine the reception desk saying that the standard rooms are 300. They must have known how much we paid because there is no way they would dare give that room to someone who paid that much.
