The room was good value for money. We paid £60 for a twin room for one night which me and my friend thought was cheap. The room was small and so was the bathroom, but for the money and only 1 night it was bearable.
Check in was smooth. No real issues. I would stay there again if I was going to another gig at the o2.

Great value for money, super quality room, breakfast buffet a little cool in temperature, but good choice and good price. Would definitely use again when visiting Excel, best value in the area.

Good location for docklands and very close to DLR station at a much better rate than central London. Ideal for Excel and O2 and just a 20-30 minute DLR/tube journey from City of London, St Pauls, Covent Garden etc. Well worth staying here and journeying in as an all day ticket was only £7.20. Room was of a good standard and very clean. Staff were very courteous and helpful. Good menu in the Chinese restaurant and the pub which were both within the hotel. This saved us having to go out looking for somewhere to eat and was good value. Continental breakfast choice was excellent at one third of the price of brealkast in central London hotels. I'll defeintely stay again and bring the family rather than pay the very high prices nearer the centre of London. Would recommend staying at the Custom House Hotel.

Rooms was ok for price I paid. Wasn't cleaned properly as found a Mars bar wrapper on floor.
Also why was there no duvet cover on the duvet, that was not very hygienic, especially if it hadn't been changed. Otherwise ok had a good nights seep not noisy which is a bonus. Didn't use the restaurant so cannot comment.

The hotel isnt as nice as it looked in its pictures.. it wouldnt really be a place id like to stay at again as there was an awful smell when i entered my room, its very small, the price for a movie is 10 pounds which is way too much especially when the movie cuts out every 3 4 miniutes.. apart from that the employees seemed very nice and helped me out when i asked for directions.

We only stayed the one night. Staff friendly and helpful.

My daughter and I shared a room, which was good value for the price paid. Unfortunately the guests in the room next to us were unfamiliar with hotel etiquette and were very noisy. When we contacted Reception, security quickly asked the culprits to be quiet, and was very polite and tolerant in the face of extreme rudeness. We were given a new, very quiet room. Excellent service.

The only negative about the hotel was the lengeth of time to check out in the morning, it took about 20 minutes!!

The room was a little basic , the toilet door would not close and was a sliding door offering little privacy , although the shower was ok , i think ten pounds to park in the hotel car park excessive , we ate in the hotel pub were the menu was also very limited . We chose this hotel for its location , hotel is ok but will not go back again due to there being a huge number of other hotels to choose from at the same price .regards

Very nice hotel and good value given it was New Years Eve. Location good out of town. No noise. Would recommend.

The room was clean and basic , just what we wanted but there was a problem with the drains which i spoke to reception about and it was more or less laughed at. We saw on arrival that there were road works , but received no prior warning that the drains in the bathroom would be very smelly, to the point of making you heave when you needed to be in there.

We enjoyed our stay until we checked out - the lady on reception was incredibly rude and unhelpful. Until that moment we were looking forward to coming back on our next visit. She really let the hotel down in just five minutes!

Being a business hotel could do with wifi access in the rooms as well as having better quality towelS in the rooms as o felt they were very cheap

The lady at reception was so helpful, very pleasant and polite, a warm welcome to the hotel.
Not keen on the food in the pub area though which was the only down side.

Stayed here on the 1st dec 2011 when we were going to see rihanna at the o2 arena. The hotel cost £69 which was the cheapest i could find for the location i wanted. Room was acceptable, bathroom small and shower was like standing in the rain (not v.powerful to wash your hair) but accomodated our needs for that night. Only query was that the hotel took a £20 deposit during check in, which was unexpected and seemed silly due to not checking the room until after you depart? Room could have been cleaner but like i said in the title you get what you pay for, so if you just want a room to crash in after an eventful night out this hotel is fine, with tube station directly across the road!!

We got back from the O2 at about 00:15 and thought we might have a quick drink before retiring but the bar had apparently closed at 23:45 so we were a bit disappointed.

The room was adequate with a good heater, the bed was comfortable, good supply of hot water in a good shower. Room & shower room very clean (a towel rail would be a good addition for people staying longer than one night). The hotel was quiet which I was not expecting.
Excellent location for the O2 Arena and staff gave good instrcutions on how to get there and back
The only negative report was the cooked breakfast this had been had been cooked and kept warm for a long time so it was rubbery and chewy.
We would stay again.

Room okay, bathroom is a "pod" in the corner ofthe room with the smallest shower cubicle I have ever seen, imposible to bend down and wash my feet!
Breakfast is a below average buffet, saying that the hotel is good value for money in London terms, the Docklands railway is right outside, 15 mins into Tower Bridge station.

Where to start.... room the size of a shoe box, air con only worked on cold. TV had no signal so unusable. Got stuck in the lift! Staff very rude! Avoid!!!!

The hotel is very poor on providing soap etc in the rooms. Very expensive if full rate is paid but not too bad if a discount can be secured.

This hotel was in a great location (right outside Excel centre). If you are looking for clean, comfortable rooms on a budget then this is great. Staff were really efficient and friendly. the continental breakfast was all you could ask for. Will be checking in again when we next visit London. Great value fo money!

Good quality and value for money

Brilliant value for money, room small but perfectly formed, and excellent location across the road from the DLR station.

The room was basic but clean only comment was that it was very hot although outside temperature was cool. worth considering air conditioning if staying in summer. other than that no issues staff and general service very good

After we eventually found the hotel as the DLR was closed for refurbishment it was pretty easy to find and in a lovely area, the Excel area is so peaceful and clean and not scary to walk through in the middle of the night! the hotel was clean and the staff were friendly, the rooms are basic (bed and bathroom tv desk) but comfortable, our air con didnt want to stay on not sure if that was for all the rooms though or just ours but as we only were in the room for about 9 hours it didnt bother us too much! they could do with a vending machine that has drinks in though because as soon as the bar closes the only option is tap water and 2 tea bags!

We only stayed for a short time this time but in the time we were their we found the staff very friendly and the room was clean and tidy

I think that if I had planned my trip earlier Travel Lodge or Premier inn would have been a better and less expensive option. The English breakfast was ok but not worth the money charged for it. I would stay again if there was nowhere else available and would recommend to others for the same reasons.

A well over price, unclean hotel with poor customer service with he staff more intrested to talk on the mobile phones or to each other then the customer. The rooms feel like staying on a cheap ferry which hasnt been cleaned.
The breakfast was more like a poorly cooked school dinner with unclean tables and food which tasted of nothing.

Stayed here to be close to Excel which this hotel definitely is.
Front desk service was prompt, room felt cramped, but clean and had everything you'd expect of a budget hotel.
Ate at the cafe downstairs, which has reasonable food (although pricey).
Not somewhere I'd recommend to relax on holiday, but a clean, functional place to stay for one night.

We as a family have enjoyed all our stays at Custom House ..they are all very friendly and extremely helpful and polite ...the hotel and rooms are very clean indeed . We have and will continue to you Custom House for our weekend in May and in October every year for as long as we can we normally stay 3 nights and now looking to stay 4 in the coming future ...Thank you to them for their Hospitality .........Mrs Christine Rust ............

Attended the 02. Transport to 02 very good. Staff helpful and polite.

We had paid for a superior room but on arrival found it to be very small and claustrophobic. Although clean and with a comfortable bed this really should not be called superior and we would dread to see the normal room. In light of this we upgraded to an apartment which was very nice. Beautifully decorated, large comfortable bed, free inroom safe (you have to pay for this in the superior room!) and a decent sized shower room (the superior room had a pod!) The manager was very helpful and we upgraded without effort. The cafe area is very nice but the pub was not welcoming. We did not eat in the restaurant but it looked very nice. All in all the staff and apartments are lovely, position really good for access to Excel and the DLR (right opposite). Think twice before taking the standard or superior room unless you are happy to be in a very small albeit clean room - not sure my husband would have even fitted in the pod shower!

Me and my boyfriend were very happy with htis hotel it was value for money and was very close to the 02 arena which was what we wanted over all completely satisfied and we would definatly stay here again
