Terrible !

Lift was filthy and the corridor leading to the room was a disgrace, dirty doors for each room different , old , shabby and not welcoming at all. When entering the room after the corridor I was prepared for the worst and I wasn't disappointed! The apartment was terrible. Old, dated, dirty, unwelcoming, truely awful. The bathroom tiles were at least 30 yrs old, tiles hanging off and other bathroom furniture. Carpets and skirting boards were black, windows filthy and couldn't open as they were like prision windows, apartment was boiling hot and no way of turning radiators off! Overall a terrible experience late rooms should be ashamed of themselves as the pictures are very misleading aand nothing like what u get on arrival and for the price I paid was a disgrace. Second bad experience with misleading photos from late rooms in a row so will not be using again. Do not stay here it is a dive !!!

Hotter than a sauna and noisier than a childrens playground

To be fair, the Curzon Plaza Apartments are perfectly situated in the centre of Mayfair if you want a nice posh weekend on a budget, but be warned that in the summer months, if your apartment windows face out onto the street, you wont get any sleep. The noise from the street below is 24hrs a day, therefore you cant open a window. But the apartment seems to gather a lot of heat, so its catch 22 as to wether you sleep through the heat or noise. After the first night, we did consider switching rooms, but had an early start on the Saturday morning so didnt have time to request this. The apartment itself has everything you could need, but i dont think you would want to stay more than 1-2 nights as it was very bland in its decor and could benefit from a splash of colour. It served the purpose for our weekend as we were attending a Rugby match at Twickenham, and just needed a base to stay. The added bonus was the Tesco Express that was on the corner opposite, which meant we could grab some snacks etc to fill the fridge with. The only other complaint is that i asked the receptionist directions to a hotel we had dinner reservations for, and she sent us to the wrong one, which resulted in us missing our table and waiting for 40 minutes for another, and £15 in taxi fares to get us to the right hotel. If you are looking for a good night out, then get in a cab or walk to Leicester Square (10 mins straight up the road), but dotn get into conversation with any of the club promoters as they dupe you into going into ceryain clubs, and the one we visited was a little bit dodgy. Have a wonder round and trust your own instincts as to where you go and you will be fine. Plus, make sure you get a rickshaw back to the apartments, its well worth it for just £10. I would definately stay in this hotel again, but only if i could be guaranteed rooms that do not look out onto the street, which i know are available.

The hotel and room were extremely shabby. There were tiles missing and cracked in the bathroom and formica peeling away from the washbasin stand. We had an apartment facing the road and were kept awake all night by noisy traffic. Overall a very dated hotel which is in desperate need of a refurb.

Not bad but not great either!!

I booked last minute and thought that I had got a bargin, all I can say is if you just want a bed than fine, the place was clean but very dated, the windows wouldn't open fully and it was a very hot evening, there was a fan and we had the noise of itbeing on through the night. Our room didn't overlook the main street which was a plus but the walls were that thin that we could here everything else going on.

Our trip to London

My friend and I were in London 2 nights for the wireless festival, we found our accommodation was perfect for us as it was only a short walk to Hyde park, the apartment was very nice, the kitchen could have been laid out better as it was a bit difficult to cook through lack of space, on the whole it was clean and in great location for walking and underground, we would defiantly use them again

Great location - slightly shabby interior but fit for purpose

Having read other reviews - yes the hotel is a little drab in places and the rooms pretty basic however I only needed a bed for the night and the hotel location cannot be faulted. I didn't have a room facing the street so the noise wasn't a problem at all.

Spacious, convenient, room slightly shabby and needed redecorating and refurbishing but clean
My wife and I arrived separately and both were asked to book in - they didn't realise that one of us had already checked in but were polite and co-operative about cancelling one of the duplicated bookings.

We were upgraded to a two bedroom apartment - plenty of space, comfortable beds with clean linen. The building is shabby but very clean. Good location - just round the corner fron Green Park tube. Windows are not double glazed so there is quite a lot of noise - but you are in central london! May well use again.

Location very good, room not so good.

The location was bang in the middle of mayfair hard to find better. The room was very basic at best, but clean and only £120 a night. Brad

Good price for Mayfair

Excellent price for the location and size of the apartment. Kitchen and bathroom very old and in desperate need of a refurb but guess that would take the price up. However, I would stay again as excellent location

Noisy and Old

My room was on the 1st floor and the road is very busy about 2 meters from the window. Old metal windows meant a bad night sleep. Big window so they had used 2 sets of blinds, but there was a 1inch gap between which mean everyone could see in, no curtains. Room was huge but very, very dated.

Photos are misleading

Very central location and for that reason it is very good value. The quality of accomodation is tired and shabby but clean. I dont mind all of that as the price and location reflect that. What I mind is having photos that lead you to believe you will have modern, contemporary accomodation. Lets just photograph exactly how it looks and then we all know what to expect. That all said I would stay there again.

Quality-Price Balance

Excellent location, good quality-price balance (though the standard rate is really higher than the discounted one).
There was no hot water for some hours but they informed us through a letter under the door.

Poor value for a tired, shabby apartment

My internal warning bells rang on entering the shabby lift, my sense of dread rose as I walked the corridor and saw the pockmarked door... This apartment must have been decorated last some 30 years ago; the living room was 'furnished' with a small sofa, a huge aircon machine, a fan, small table with two chairs and a telly. No decor to speak of. On the plus side, it was kept scrupulously clean and rooms service was included. The bed was comfy but the noise dreadful. I will never go back.

Perfect location - and loads of space!

A short walk to anywhere in Mayfair, comfortable, clean - and with loads of space. The staff could not have been more welcoming.
It was not as scruffy as the reviews lead me to believe. The water could have been hotter. But I was very happy with it. I would definitely stay there again.

Great Location and Loads of space

Great accommodation and great location - Booked very late so was slightly limited on accommodation and paid slightly more than I would do normally.
I would suggest booking this place early as there are good discounts to be had. Very good value for money if making most of space but if just using it as a 1 night stopover there are smaller cheaper alternatives.
Room was huge!
Big double bed and enormous separate living room with dining table, sofas tv etc and a kitchen!

Great location, would definitely stay again.

We needed a central located hotel for the night after an anniversary dinner. The warm welcome by staff was second to none and we were given a free upgrade to a 2 bedroom apartment - although with the exception of both being able to use a bathroom at the same time, not really needed. The apartment was very spacious and had all the facilities you would need. The only downside was the decor, yes it was in need of a refurbishment with old kitchen equipment and paintwork that had seen better days, but for the money and the location, I would definitely recommend these appartments and would stay here again.

Very unwelcoming entrance in what looked like a half way house residential block. It just wasn't right - we booked very late so had few options so it was the best out of a bad bunch but for the money definitely was not worth it.

Not best quality but useful small flat

Tired decoration- the curtains had been washed and shrunk or perhaps they were designed to show 2 inches of lining? Whoever painted the walls had an interesting method of straying onto the skirting boards and then back up again- 'sloshing the paint on' might best describe the style. Reasonably clean; single glazing gave a bit of traffic/street noise but not too bad, bed quite comfortable. The lounge area was reasonable size but I only used it for the reflection in the TV screen to dry my hair as the only mirror happened to be fixed to the bathrooom wall and unlike European hotels, there are no electricla sockets in there. They did say if I had asked a mirror could be produced- are they rationed? Hand held shower tap on bath but no screen. To summarise I have stayed in better places.
