Got moved next door.

I arrived at croydon court and they sent me next door. Apparently it was an upgrade. Norfolk house and croydon court share the same car park so i'm guessing they're the same owners. First off the people coming in and out of croydon court looked like they lived there and were fixing cars in the car park.
Norfolk house was in the middle of a refurb so maybe they're normally more organised but it took 20 mins before I finally got my key.
Continental breakfast consisted of white toast and cheap cornflakes. Tea/instant coffee and orange/apple juice out of a machine.
Room was quite nice but had funny noises going on all night and no spoon to stir tea/coffee.
TV needed retuning and it took 4 phone calls to reception to finally get someone sent up despite being told each time someone was on their way. That person was a security guard and couldn't do it.
I stay in several hotels a month and this is the worst so far.

Double Room booked for 30th December 2011

The room was extremely small, the bed was unmade and dirty. The electrics (lighting) were not operating correctly.
The staff were friendly, however - I had to "prove" the room was as stated above with a final acceptance that the electrics(lighting) was not operating correctly! I was provided with another room which was acceptable. However, from a customer care perspective, it is the height of bad manners when staff behind reception speak in an alternative language to each other when you are trying to resolve an issue..................!

Our experience was disapointing due tothe fact that it was not organised at all We arrivedat the Hotel quite late and being new to London but finally got there welcomed warmlyand allocated to our room only to dismay found the room already in use went back tothe front desk to advise a very suprised clerk we were then ushered to the building next door who then arranged for another room checked in again and after 30minutes we then got to our room tomy dismay a smalldingy roomwith a 3/4 bed which was very uncomfortable my husban being a very tall man was not impressed ,by that time it was late we were very tired therefore we just settled in . Overall I think the room was poor not veryclean I did not even bother to use the bathroom facalitiesor even make a cup of tea which was needed at the time because a filthy plastic cupwas provided that was so dissapointed as we did not expect to find ourselfs in a Motel Never ever again

No way hotel

This hotel looks ok from the out side but inside it's more like a nursing home with the mothball smell..bedroom was clean and decent size and the bathroom was so small u had to get in the bath from the bottom with just a drizzle of water coming from the shower. even though it was only for one night as a pit stop to get to our next hotel we wouldn't stop here again.

Hotel from Hell

Arrived late afternoon, black bin bags all down corridor. Paid with credit card, felt really uneasy. The room wasn't anything like the add. Cupboard sides but no doors at all. Bathroom not finished , stunk of damp. Drain pipes exposed. Shouldn't have been let out. Complained about people banging bedroon doors beyond 2.30am. Complained about room, wanted to leave but to late. Would really like refund. But they said we should have changed rooms, my reply was, what at 2am. They just treated us terrible. Should be reported to health and safety. And I would if I knew how to go about it.

My staff refused to stay in the hotel as it was like a drop in centre for the homeless, they also could not park there van on site, when it clearly states you can. Then the hotel has the cheek to take the first nights accommodation of the card. I tried to get this charge taken off as it is false advertisement. the place is a dump and laterooms.com did nothing to help me out, apart from tell my they would try, im still waiting back for them, I am assuming they had no luck as the money has come out of the account. Avoid at all costs

Croydon Court Hotel needs to learn to explain its policies

I managed to get a room for 2 nights for £72, which i admit was not bad. As far as the room is concerned it was okay. clean and simple, however there were 2 things that i did not like. Firstly There was little in terms of advice as a checked in. No mention of what services the Hotel offered and nothing in the room in written format. That did not help on the first morning as I went down for breakfast. I stayed a year ago and the full english breakfast was included. I can only guess that as I managed to book on-line a reduced rate this time, that it did not. the Hotel policy is now, like far too many hotels, to serve a full english breakfast on payment of additional money. They called it an upgrade. £5.00 extra. Again not necessarily a problem, if only they had mentioned it when I checked in. Instead there was an embarassing moment when i went down in front of other guests, as i was shown the room number list with my room number and an X next to "continental breakfast" which by the way consisted of 2 types of cereal (cornflakes or rice crispies) toast , juice and tea or coffee.

Simple relatively clean value for money

The room decor was tired and in need of modernisation. Furniture was adequate but in poor condition. Bed was clean and relatively comfortable but access from only one side. En-suite was similar. Adequate but very tired and dated. Shower was in an old "sit's" bath and had a 2 foot climb into it. Exiting was perilous when wet. The room was long and narrow and not somewhere you'd want to sit and relax in, but for the money you could mange one night. The front faces the London Road and that was a little noisy with the hotel positioned between the hospital and the bus station. On the plus side the staff were pleasant and there is somewhere safe to keep your car at night.

Horrible

As I entered the room I was greeted by the smell of cigarettes. bed was at an incline so almost fell off every time I turned. There is hardly any room to swing a cat. I managed to sleep ok as I am a heavy sleeper. Had to pay separately for breakfast and the iron was hardly working and had to iron my clothes on the chair since they didn't have any ironing board. Never will go back there again. The worst hotel I have ever stayed in....The place needs to be shut down. Have never given such a bad review to a hotel.

Budget hotel

Do not be fooled by the promise of a £100 room at a great discount. This is a budget hotel. The room was barely big enough to accommodate the double bed and you could only access it from one side; the window was part blocked by the wardrobe because that was the only way it could fit in; the window could be opened because it was broken but so much air came through that this didn't matter; the sink leaked and the shower was poor. The entrance area and dining room were not bad but the corridors and stairs were pokey and in need of decoration.

The room was quite small and the bed a bit creaky, but, it was clean, very warm, and cheap.
That was good enough for what I wanted. I have stayed before, and got a much bigger room without road noise, so I would speak with them about that when booking. Not a Hotel for a romantic break, but fine if you are working local as I was.

The lobby and reception were welcoming and informal, sadly the cleanliness was poor beyond the entrance. Carpets were not vaccuumed, skirting boards were dusty. In the room limescale on the taps and water stains on the shower screne were prevalent. The bed was comfortable and the bedding was clean. The continental breakfast was very limited to just cereal(three options) and toast. In need of updating and deeper cleaning.

You get what youi pay for.

The Croydon Court Hotel is definitely a budget hotel. You get what you pay for, so don't book it thinking it's a bargain price. It isn't over priced, but nor is it great value. It took half an hour to check in, as they seemed to have no record of my booking, despite me having a printed confirmation. The room was quite small, and you could hear every move made by others in the hotel. And breakfast is a very basic continental, only.

Croydon Court Hotel

Myself and my partner stayed at the Croydon Court Hotel on Friday 15th October 2010. We were allocated a ground floor room, and although we had book a double, we were given a family room with a double bed and two singles, which made no difference to us, it just meant we had a bigger room! The room was plainly decorated, with an en-suite bathroom and plenty of furniture such as bed side tables, dressing table and wardrobes. The decor was a bit shabby, but for one night this was not a problem. The bathroom seemed to be clean enough, and the shower was powerful and the water was hot. One thing which did disappoint us was the smell of smoke in the hotel entrance and in our bedroom.
Continental breakfast consisted of cereal - 3 choices - and toast. This was very basic, and we probably wouldn't have bothered with it if we had known previously what it would consist of, but it was included in the price, so not a big problem.
One thing I would say is that the staff were not very friendly, and were very abrupt on checking us in and out.
All in all, for £39 a night I can't complain, but would probably not choose to stay here for more than one or two nights at a time.
