Only stay here as a last resort. The hotel is very dated and the walls paper thin. All night we heard heavy footsteps and slamming doors. If you're a woman travelling on your own I doubt you'd feel safe here. On the upside the staff were helpful and friendly.

Arrived at the hotel all seemed ok Checked in all ok and quickly. Now the room - The room it's self was ok very small only just about enough room to walk round the bed the bed sheets looked clean and it had been hovered the Decor is very rough and needs refurb. The bathroom however was terrible stains all over the Bath. The toilet seat fell off everytime you sat on it and the Shower was ok but the Tap and the pipes got so hot you could not turn the hot tape off without a towel because it burnt your hands. The whole bathroom was not very clean at all and the stains all over the bath put you off straight away. The room was also so hot you had to have all the windows open to sleep and facing the main road meant it was very noisey all in all ok if you are just looking for somewhere to sleep and cheap but i would not stay again

This hotel is great for contractors, good parking and very cheap. However the staff are not very polite and their english is poor.I would never take my wife here but for working its fine especially if your paying the bill.On a positive note the bed linen was clean. Dont be fooled by breakfast included, this equates to toast and coffee. Full English is £5 extra. Mayday hospital is directly over the road. Also no wifi available in rooms although clearly stated there is.

This is an excellent hotel in it's class. It is relatively basic but the price reflects that. There is no lift so make sure you choose a ground floor room if you have walking difficulties. The breakfast was excellent - staff were ALL very helpful and obliging. There is a secure free car park at the rear of the building. Great value for money and I had a very pleasant stay.

I had made a booking on-line a few hours before attempting to check-in. I had the booking reference number and other details which was sent to me in an email which I could access via my mobile phone. The receptionist could not find any trace of confirmation on the hotel system and I was lucky to find availability. I had to provide my card details again and the point that alarmed me was that he took all card details including security number(last three digits on reverse) and placed them on the system. He didn't understand the implications of me leaving my full details with him. I asked him if there was a chip and pin system and that is my preferred method of paying and I was not going to leave him with my details. He tried to reassure me by showing my other guests details, credit card and security code which he had on a printout next to the computer. Anybody could have picked them up as they were not secured. After making my point, he telephoned his manager who told him that I was right and he should accept my payment. In the current climate of Identity theft and credit card fraud, I am amazed and concerned that this hotel does not seem to have an understanding or policy to deal with this.

The first room we were offered was dark and dingy , smelling of stale smoke, but after revisitng recption we were given another room that was bright spacious and smell free. We requested an iron and were told one could not be provided until the am! After further enquiry we were told this is a 4* B&B so should not expect an iron etc in each room. BUT the nightwatchman did seek out the iron and get one to us. To be honest I would not be shocked if this [lace is used as a knocking shop. Although this sounds like a really damning review the place was clean. Cheap and cheerful.

Hotel was adaquete for a one night business trip. Room was clean, bed comfortable, reasonably quiet. Staff were polite but not particularly welcoming. Breakfast was okay apart from instant coffee, which is a big mistake! Had I not got a reduced rate through late rooms I would not have been happy but as it was, it was fine.

Offered with continental breakfast which consited of, cornflakes and toast. an upgrade for £5 proved too difficult for unintereseted waitress.

I and my husband stayed at The Croydon Court following a 24 hour race at Tooting Bec. We arrived at the hotel around 2.30pm but our room wasn't ready. However, the staff quickly got it sorted and we got into our room about 3pm. We had a ground floor room, it was nicely decorated and the bathroom was great. However, the pipes for the heating/water systems must have run under our floor because the room was absolutely boiling hot. We opened the windows but as it was on the ground floor this was not an ideal solution. The bed was very comfortable and we had a very good sleep. We decided to pay extra for the cooked breakfast and this was good too. All in all, I would stay here again as it was great value for money.

I am please to say that the room was definately suitable for the money paid. Only couple of downsides were that the double bed was made up of two single beds, with two single matresses instead of a double matress, so whenever me and my partner tried to get cosy one of us would have the annoying gap digging into our side. The bathroom was rather small, the toilet seat was broken and the bath was stained, the shower was useless and hardly had any power behind it. Other then that everything else seemed in alright shape, especially for such a decent and cheap price. Would definately stay there again for just a quiet break with my partner. A+

On arrival, guy on reception was on the phone. I was instructed "Gentleman please take a seat" He replaced the reciever and then "Gentleman, you can come here now!"He sorted out my room and passed me the pass key. I had to ask him where the room was. He hadn't got a clue! When he finally realised where the room was, he asked me to follow him through a door and promptly let it go! I had a suitcase in one hand and a briefcase in the other. Fortunately, another guest held the door open for me. The room was like an oven and there was only one window, which I opened to it's fullest extent. The hairdryer, standard lamp and the remote for the tv didn't work (the remote was "Phillips and the tv was Waltham!!") and the lamp on the table didn't appear to have a socket anywhere near it to plug in! At least the beds were comfortable and there was an ample supply of tea and coffee although a little more milk would have been nice.I have to mention breakfast, or the "meal" we had in the morning. The restaurant door was LOCKED until exactly 08.00. We all filed in like something from the Griswolds to be met with four large bowls of different cereals, two flasks containing tea or coffee and two jugs of milk labeeled "GREEN" and "BLUE" respectively. As we sat down a waitress appeared and enquired "Do ya want toast?" and when it was delivered two or three minutes later, banged the toast rack down with such force, that the room shook. In keeping with the rest of the stay, she should have just stood in the doorway and thrown it to us!I fully realise that we didn't pay that much and were lucky to get breakfast at all. However, we do feel that we would have preferred NOT to have a meal if it was that much trouble and would sooner have better staff who know what they are about.

We had booked a single and a double...
We had booked a single and a double room. The double room door wouldn't lock and the receptionist said she would get someone to come and fix it. We waited an hour for the security person to come and fix it - with me having to follow it up and then after that he couldn't fix it so we had to move rooms. The next room was much larger and the lock worked but outside the room was a huge pile of laundry that reached halfway up the walls - they obviously store the dirty laundry there which was a bit yuck. The single room was absolutely tiny - we could barely fit the suitcase in there, and the shower in that room was stone cold in the morning. When I complained about the cold shower when we checked out the receptionist said I should have complained at the time and they would have fixed it - but really who is going to get out of the shower, get dressed, walk to reception and complain and then wait for them to fix it? All I was looking for was an apology which he did not give me - just had the attitude it was my problem. The breakfast wasn't excellent but was fine for a budget hotel. It was ok for a a budget hotel however I probably wouldn't stay there again as I have found other better hotels for a similar price.

I was quite happy with the quality of the room and the bathroom considering the amount I paid. You get what you pay for. The only thing that made my blood pressure go through the roof was that, they have a policy that quests should have no visitors in their rooms. This should be made known well ahead and should be be at the late rooms website. People do go into hotels for various reasons and this is not a hostel, i think it is a very silly policy, regardless of previous experience.Had no breakfast hence unable to comment on that.

bedding was clean, but one bed was broken, bottom with castors angled into gap between beds so we both smacked our feet walking to and from bed as it was covered with valance! the sink was blocked, the shower was scalding, and didn't work properly.. bath was probably ok! bathroom extractor didn't work so had to have door open so as not to suffocate in steam from scalding shower... toilet seat was cracked right through though did hold!! hairdryer didn't work at all. Continental breakfast was.. orange juice; choice of weetabix, muesli, cornflakes or rice krispies; white toast with butter and jam and pretty awful coffee! Still... it was clean and somewhere to lay your head... and it was cheap!
