A number of the rooms boast elegant king-size four-poster beds, whilst the majority are furnished with equally dramatic half-tester canopied beds. However, you will be glad to know that they have dispensed with Victorian horsehair mattresses in favour of luxurious sprung mattresses. Curtains and bed hangings are natural linen whilst the headboards and valances are hand embroidered; the beds are dressed with cotton sheets, large square feather pillows, and traditional pure woollen blankets.

Every room has an antique desk or writing table with conveniently placed power and telecommunication sockets; most rooms also have a separate table enabling you to enjoy room service without disturbing your work.
