I was very grateful that the hotel upgraded me to what the receptionist called a suite.
It was a very pleasant large room
My only criticism with the hotel would be the breakfast arrangements and the food at breakfast, but it probably works for the hotel the system of taking names and making people wait for about 15 minutes. the food when an item is finished is not replaced quickly and I found that I was waiting for orange juice for about 5 minutes and the sausages ran out and were not replenished quickly.
The concierge staff and receptionists were exemplary
Went with my sister. The twin beds were side by side and unable to be separated as there was no room. The Laura Ashley insprired decor was curtains a pair of woolen throws and a chair. For good measure a Laura Ashley catalogue lay tantilisingly on the "working desk" which was not deep enough for a lap top. This room was a dark mustard coloured cupboard with a lousy view over the back internal workings of the hotel. On opening the bathroom door we hit the bath. When I complained I was assured that they could indeed show me that the standard rooms were much smaller. There was not room for us both to pass to and fro. No ironing facilities, no fridge. "Multi channel TV" 4 channels. We complained and were given a free upgrade to a business class Viceroy room, which was larger and brighter with everything except a fridge. Did not have to move our things the staff did that. My advice do not pay extra for Superior. Apart from the room size everyone was wonderful and helpful and the breakfasts were really good. Get there early to avoid the queues

Perfect base for me. 10min walk from Paddington. 3mins from Lancaster Gate Tube Station. Across road from Hyde Park. Very clean room. No view, but I did not request one. Room small but adequte. Not enough storage or hanging space in room 725 for a longer stay. Room as picture shown on site. I would return. We ate in restaurant, meal was very enjoyable. Time for upholstery cleaning in the restaurant. Staff all very professional and helpful.

My daughter and I booked three nights over a weekend. The hotel was everything we needed. We were upgraded to a superior room with air conditioning which was very welcome. Lovely view of hyde Park, room was quite smal but looked recently refurbished as everything was spotless and finished very well. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Only criticism would be that there could have been more choice for the continental breakfast as we prefr this to a cooked breakfast. This is a great location as only 2 mins walk to Tube but out of main hustle and bustle.

The hotel wassuitable for our needs being close to hyde park, where we needed to be.
The problem we had was that we booked a superior room and on arrival were informed we could upgrade for 20 pounds. The room was neither a superior or an executive room and so we felt 'robbed'. We would love to know what the difference was, maybe because it had an iron and an ironing board???????

Standard Room was a bit small but OK for a couple of days, and room was clean. Food was good. Staff were all friendly, pleasant and helpful. Location close to Paddington Station and closer to Lancaster Gate Tube Station was very helpful and closeness to Hyde Park was good. Hotel was well decorated, with marble floors in the foyer, was quite posh and architecturally very pleasing being an old, possibly listed, building. Generally good value for money as we had the special offer of b&b for a 2 night stay.

Very nice stay. We got a special rate which made it worth it. The staff were polite & helpful. The double room was very small and the bed was pushed up against the wall and a desk at the bottom of the bed which isn't comfortable for getting in and out. (May even be against fire regulations). Twin room was better laid out. Very clean rooms and breakfast (included) was very good. However the hotel should invest in some more cups as they ran out every day and there was a considerable wait for clean ones.
We would stay again with that deal, the hotel is central and as London is so expensive it was good value.

I booked through Late Rooms and was offered an upgrade on arrival to a Superior room in the basement. The room was very dark and dingy and there was nothing superior about it. The bathroom wasn't clean, lights didn't work and the TV only had channels 1-5 with no pay per view films so we were very disappointed. The rooms displayed on the Corus website are obviously not the ones you get if you book through Late Rooms so I felt slightly conned. Breakfast was also disappointing and the room wasn't big enough for the size of the hotel so we had to queue and wait to be seated.

The hotel is quite quiet (once they had moved me away from proximity to an air conditioning vent). The room is small but pleasant, with a decent bed and pillows. The only problem was the lack of proper light exclusion at night. There are heavy shutter-style slats, working on the venetian blind principle but allowing too much light in. Worse, the bathroom light is operated by a button glowing ghaostly green at night. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was satisfactory, but, while toast was offered by the waitress, coffee or tea was not, and had to be poured from urns next to the other buffet items. The quality of the food was acceptable, if not memorable.
I ate dinner there one night. It was really pretty good (a stilton tartlet with salad, followed by a lamb dish where some of the meat was grilled and some braised). I enjoyed it and was too full for dessert. The glass of red wine I drank was also decent, if not complex.

Room was fairly small but this could be because of limited smoking rooms. However if you are a smoker it's nice to be able to stay somewhere that still has them even if it means a slightly smaller space. Booking through late rooms you get a full english included for same price as room only booked direct, which is great as it is a buffet style with a good selection. We didn't need to eat lunch sothere's another saving! Great location close to tube stn and paddington rail. Hotel round corner allowed us to use Car park at only 10 a day so again another saving! Very happy with stay in general.

i had a very tired room (708) in desperate need of a refurb. the executive bedroom was very small, with twin beds that needed new mattresses and pillows and looked like it had last been decorated in the late 1970s. the air conditioning had a mind of its own and the room was either icy cold or roasting hot! The location next to Hyde Park and Paddington Station is great.
The staff are very courteous, helpful and polite.
The food is plentiful and tasty.
The hotel is clean and light.
The room, however, was disappointingly small and fitted to a low standard. The toilet was right up against the shower cubicle so it proved very difficult to use and the washbasin was immediately opposite a sharp shelf corner with not much room between, therefore, proving a bit of a hazard.
The bed and pillows were a bit too firm for our liking.
There was a constant draught coming from the window which we could feel on our faces all night as the bed was immediately in front of it. The shutter (which was instead of a curtain) did not close properly, therefore, allowing the draught and light to come through.
The 'wardobe' consisted of a small rail protruding from the wall and the hangers were inadequate for anything heavier than a shirt.
There were no drawers or dressing table area, but there were 2 phones which did not seem necessary in such a small, 'capsule' room.
This was a terrible experience. The room was tiny as a shoebox, extremely noisy from the traffic all through the night, but the worst part of all was the bed, which is situated in such a way that the headboard is right under the window, which is drafty and cold wind (it was in October) was blowing onto the head and face. Very soon my nose got blocked and I got a terrible headache. I had to move the pillow to the opposite end of the bed which was very uncomfortable as there is no headboard. And even there it still felt drafty and cold. I did not sleep a wink. This was like a torture. It made me ill. The hotel is an appalling value for money.

I got a cheap room deal and my room reflected that is was next to the lifts, very small, almost a long corridor. However there was no noise from the lift and the room was clean and tiday and fulfilled my needs for an overnight stay. The decor was a bit too cold with all white walls although there was nice modern touches like wooden sliding window door, a wide screen telly and mood lighting in my mini bathroom. A good location for central london. A small but adequate breakfast offering. This is ideal at the price I paid (109) for a one night business stop. I am sure they have much nicer rooms for full paying guests. I owuld check that when booking. The lobby area is lovely. The check in and out staff were good but the breaky staff were half asleep and I was stood for 5 mins at checkout whilst they added my breakfast to the bill.....

This hotel is well situated and the quality of the room met our basic requirements, as we spent very little time in it, just to sleep really. However for the price 99, even allowing for it being London it wasn't good value, being barely a double room, and you wouldn't have wanted to be in it for more time than absolutely necessary.
The main complaint we would make though was the noise of the traffic !! The hotel is on the corner of Bayswater Road and Lancaster Gate and having only rather ancient and dodgy sash type windows, the traffic kept us awake most of the night. Double glazing would be an essential improvement to this hotel.

Stayed for 3 nights. I have mixed views about this hotel. My Laterooms booking confirmation promised an air conditioned room with flat screen tv etc. Was allocated a small twin room, and although it was clean and pleasant it was absolutely BOILING in there! It was over the first weekend in July and London was scorching. No air conditioning, no window to open - just a small desk fan provided. 1st night did not sleep at all - it was so hot, felt there was no air in the room. If I had been a small child or elderly person, I'd have heat exhaustion or something. Complained the next day and had to wait til 2pm to move rooms. Other guests I spoke to said they had asked to move, or knew of others who had. It seems this is common in this hotel. Basically, this hotel has half its rooms all refurbished with air conditioning (ask for the 8th floor) and the other half are waiting to be done. My friend and I were then allocated a room on the 8th. Walked in and it was a double! Went back to the Reception again and complained. Because of this, she moved us to a 'bigger room' on the ground floor which she advised would have costa an extra 30 a night. But I got this free 'upgrade' for my final 2 nights - and yes the room was lovely and quiet, and with air conditioning! Makes such a difference. Although I've gone on a bit, the hotel was in a good spot, by Hyde Park and tube etc. I would stay here again, but when you check just make sure you are not given an 'old' room.

I marked customer service down because on check in despite the fact my hotel room had been pre booked and paid for in advance on our company credit card the hotel insisted that I hand over my card details in case I used hotel facilities.
I explained that despite "Hotel Policy" I was not going to nor would I use facilities or purchase anything that would incur cost to me in the hotel and that if I did I would pay cash. I do not have a credit card nor do I wish to have one. It's this policy which really frustrates me and your not the only Hotel chain to do this. The receptionist also insisted that I have a faxed or copy image of the credit card used to make the booking which had been mailed and followed up with the hotel by my PA prior to my arrival early evening.
The receptionist was friendly and pleasant and simply appeared to be a victim of the hotel policy.

Although the rooms and bathrooms are exceedingly small they are well thought out. I would definitely upgrade to a larger room if sharing with a partner. Restaurant reasonable for the price, but breakfast abismal! I chose continental at 7.50 pounds. The bread was stale, no fresh fruit - only tinned grapefruit - one type of ham and mini cheeses in plastic packets. When I asked for a joghurt I was charged an extra pound!!!

Was informed that superior rooms did not exist but we could upgrade for 30 per night extra.
Eventually when I pointed out that my booking specified Aircon & flatscreen Tv etc, receptionist relented and allocated a so called 'executive' room. Room was tiny, with a tiny tv but did have aircon. Apart form that, hotel was generally satisfactory & well located. I've stayed at the Park Inn Hotel & Hyde Park Thistle in the area previously & would say that both are far superior to the Corus.

Should have more web or internet access to upgrade service. Early morning checked-out to find that computer system was locked - this is unprofessional and not up to average standard. Excellent location, however given the amount paid, the quality and standard of the room and bathroom (which was tiny!) was not up to scratch. We requested an executive double, non-smoking and on arrival were told we had requested a smoking standard. . . to be fair this was changed to a non-smoking D room, which was in the basement, but were unable to be upgraded, even if we paid money! The restaurant was a complete joke, breakfast not included in the rate, so we ordered paninis and coffee for a grand total of 23! Should have starved or gone to Starbucks - it was seriously below standard, my 4 year old neice could have produced better. . . wouldnt stay here again, its a shame because its a good location with friendly staff, but for that money I could stay in the Hilton if I had booked in advance. In the morning there were no cabs and when I mentioned this to staff they said this was quite usual and I should walk and hail one. As it turned out I had to walk all the way to Paddington - not too far (10 mins) but far enough with large case and laptop - AND in freezing weather with snow. Another oddity was that, on arrival, my phone didn't work. I contacted reception and they activated it. I then couldn't watch a pay movie (didn't bother complaining about this) but oddest of all was that I had to pay cash for my room service order which took me by surprise and left me short of cash.
