Summary
Whilst the staff at reception were very pleasant the overall quality of the room was not. It was so small that the annual cat swinging competition had to be cancelled owing to a lack of room: literally the room was about one and a half single bed widths wide (with a dog leg in the middle) and about 10 feed long plus a narrow corridor section past the bathroom. Don't stay here if you suffer from claustrophobia. The walls were also paper thin and I was kept awake each night I stayed there by noisy people in the next room who'd come in at gone midnight and talk loudly until 2am. I did get reception out to talk them one night when I'd really had enough but it didn't make any difference. Literally the walls are so thin you can here the person next door tearing toilet paper in their bathroom (and no I don't have bat ears). Two other complaints relate to the bathroom: firstly the toilet was barely fastened to the floor; secondly the shower door would not close properly meaning that each time I used the shower it turned the room into a wet room. A little tlc needed here I think. On the plus side the room was clean and the bed very comfy. The breakfast, whilst perfunctory was adequate. Pity that WiFi was not included for free.
Summary
The Commodore was quite grand-looking but I have to say my room was looking a bit tired. However, it was clean and tidy and the bed was very comfortable! The staff were polite and the room service, whilst basic, was actually very nice. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone who just wants somewhere comfortable and well-located to stop whilst in London.
Summary
We were most surprised to be given a suite with a 4-poster and winding staircase to a small lounge above. A splendid Victorian room - I can therefore only say it was great to stay in it but can't speak for the other rooms in the hotel.
Summary
Rather small corridors and lifts, but clean room and good shower . Rooms are quite small. There was some free weekend parking on the road near by which was a bonus. Nice breakfast but you need to get there early as there were people waiting after 9am
Summary
Fine for a week-end break, great location, with underground and restaurants nearby. Hyde Park only minutes away. Hotel itself is quite old fashioned, and the rooms were very noisy, from other guests' movements, not from outside traffic. Hotel staff were very helpfull.
Summary
Cold, noisy, expensive. Very poor value. There are far nicer hotels at this price.
Summary
Welcome was warm, room was good size, bed was fairly comfy and breadkfast was good. My only challenge was the elephant, sorry guest, in the room above me, find it diffcult to blame the hotel for that though.
Summary
Excellent hotel for stop-over facility. Cleanliness to a high standard, though a bit noisy being stuck next to the lift shaft.
Summary
Really friendly helpful staff, which makes a huge difference.
Summary
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Commodore and wouldn't hesitate to return.
It was clean, comfortable and well poositioned.
We're on a girlie weekend to London so our requirements are fairly simple. Decent sized, clean hotel room, pretty close to the action.
Our room looked like something out of a Sherlock Holmes book - which was fine, the problems were though that there was only one mirror in the bedroom on the door of the wardrobe and that was no where near a power socket.
Ironing was very hard work as there wasn't really enough space to put up and stand next to the ironing board.
The breakfast buffet which was included in the room price was Ok but we wanted to order poached eggs and were told that we couldn't because the kitchen had closed. It was 10.15, breakfast was supposed to be served until 10.30 and we were told that it was 10.23 and as the kitchen closed 10 mins before the end of breakfast we couldn't get any extras!
The service at the hotel is not 4* but it was only £99 for the room and in a good location.
Nice, friendly hotel in great location. Decor is a little tired and there are some very squeaky floorboards! That being said we had a very enjoyable weekend.
Summary
Our room was lovely and overlooked the old church spire. The service was friendly, yet unobtrustive. Breakfast was great lots of choice. Hotel is situated about 5 mins walk from the Bayswater Rd lots of shops and different mix of restraurants. Really enjoyed our stay.
Summary
A very enjoyable stay in the Commodore. Great location, just a pleasant stroll to Hyde Park or close to Lancaster Gate tube station.
Our room was quirky and ideal for us with a great balcony and table and chairs. Perfect for early evening relaxation with a drink from the minibar. Only had breakfast but this was also splendid.
Will definitely return on my next trip to London.
Good location near Hyde park and only a few minutes from Lancaster gate tube station.
Quiet area and safe surroundings. Breakfast was okay. Rates expensive but that is London!
Room was very small

Summary
Plesant stay for one night, no real grumbles at all. Stayed alone in a double room which seems quite small but may have looked that way with the huge and comfortable bed. Slight downside was the reception on the television was not great and channels that it did show were limited. staff very friendly and helpful. I asked if i could use a meeting room and was given the use of a lovely little room just off the bar. Would happily stay again.
Summary
My experience is checking in, checking out and the room. The double room was comfortable and clean and spacious enough for one. I had a good night's sleep in a quiet room on a comfy bed. Atmosphere in lobby was a bit stuffy and uptight. Booked a taxi with reception. They did not inform me of £15 min charge. Good value for money - £135. Close to Central Line tube station.
Summary
Chosen for access to Albert Hall which is just across the park. Hotel within short walk of tube. Room was adequate for a short stay, breakfast was ordinary and the dining room congested. No particular problems except the soulless impersonal feel to the place. May well stay there again but would not recommend it to friends. Not expensive by London standards.
Summary
On the whole, for a one-night single-person stay the facility was spotlessly clean and ideally situated in the relative calm of Lancaster Gate. The bed might have been a little on the small side but being 6'4" and built like a rugby prop forward that was always going to be an issue with me. Nice to be in a room where everything worked which is always a bonus. The small room was well lit and airy making the stay a wholly agreeable affair.
Summary
I have stayed at this hotel a few times over the past year and will do so again as it ticks most of the boxes for what is required by me. It is situated ideally for me in a quiet side road. The staff are polite and quite helpful and the rooms that I have had have all been of a good quality with good facilities. See you again very soon. GKM
Summary
The staff were friendly, the room was clean and modern and the situation of the hotel is perfect for a week end in London. It is only a few minutes from Hyde Park and from the underground station. Quiet area so you can have a nice rest at night. Breakfast was good value for money and the food was of a good quality. All in all a great hotel for a weekend.
Summary
Hotels in central London are very expensive. The Commodore provided a good combination between price and quality. My room looked onto a courtyard, so was very quiet, and I could open the windows and turn off the heating and airco completely (surprisingly rare attribute...). The room was not huge, but bigger than other rooms I have stayed in London, and it was clean. It was not overly modern, but not too shabby either. The neighbourhood was good : with a large number of shops and cafes / bars / restaurants about 10min walk away, and just next to Hyde Park.
Summary
Usually I am coming to London for bet 1 -4 days and sometimes at short notice.
This is about the right size hotel for my purposes and is situated ideally for my work in the city and at Paddington.
I found it quiet at night, clean and comfortable with a decent breakfast.
Staff were polite and I have not encountered any negative issues on my couple of stays at this hotel. I will definately stay again in the near future. GKM
We were very very pleased with the hotel in general, all the staff were smart friendly and efficient. Our room was a littlr small but very clean and obviously recently decorated the bed was extremely comfortable so all in all a pleasurable visit and will not be our last when we come to London again. Breakfast was fine except there was not enough choice of cereals. The hotel was very easy to get to and having a bus stop and tube stop so nearby was great to get around
Summary
Great value for money. Note! It's not a 4 star hotel with US standard on the stars. BUT, it's value for money, especially in a city as London where prices are extremely high for rather moderate hotels in general.
Definitely good experience on this hotel in comparison to same price level on other hotels in London.
We had a wonderful 2 nights in this hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the room was spacious and comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. The location is great - just across the road from Hyde Park and easy access to Central London on the tube. We would certainly stay again and would recommend this hotel for a London break.
Summary
Just behind hyde park - Staff don't speak great english - Room's are very small and the whole building is far too HOT! We had air con on all night and still found it hard to sleep - 2 mins walk from Lancaster gate. - Lovely small bar in hotel (again very HOT!) Plus note we were here on a very cold weekend in London.
Summary
Wewere upgraded to an executive room which was very nice but had a tiny claustrophobic bathroom.
Summary
Hi, I was quite surprised at how nice this hotel was. The carpets etc could do with renewing but in general it was clean and tidy. The bed was comfy, the bedding clean (except the throw - but then when are they ever clean), the pillow cases spotless and it was quiet. I got a good nights sleep - hoorah!
Summary
Friendly staff. Room was very small but characterful with old beadstead and georgian-style decoration. Great shower. Nice restaurant. Continental breakfast included in price was basic but OK quality. IBroken window catch - reported to reception but not mended during my stay.
Summary
We were looking for a hotel in central London for a couple of nights away with my Mother. Having scoured the sites we opted for the Commodore, the price was incredibly reasonable compared with other hotels - far cheaper than Travel Lodge etc.... it's a real 4* hotel !! Nicely decorated with friendly & helpful staff, comfy and clean rooms and a superb location.
Summary
I felt the staff were wearing false smiles and were a bit robotic. Could have done with a bit more enthusiasm and a personal approach although they were fine.
Summary
Attractive hotel, excellent location and good buffet breakfast. Had to complain as shower was erractic - warm to scalding hot - luckily I can move quickly! However they moved us to another (much nicer) room with no problem at all (hopefully they will work on the water supply!)
Summary
We came to London for a theatre break and a chance to re-aquaint ourselves with the sights and sounds of the Town. We arrived early at the Hotel, but this was no problem and we had immediate access to our room. It was clean and tidy and everything in the bathroom was in full working order!
Breakfast was adequate and all staff we had contact with were very friendly and helpful. Not the cheapest Hotel, but very satisfactory.
Perhaps not a 4 star hotel, it is a bit dated & tatty. However it was clean, quiet & staff were both friendly & helpful. Recommended.
Summary
Outwardly a nice hotel but I couldn't recommend staying here and wouldn't use it again myself.
The room was extremely small - a fact made all the worse by the bizarre secondary internal door arrangement separating the main part of the bedroom from the corridor and bathroom. This hit on the corner of the bed every time it was opened or closed (which it had to be in order to use the dressing table or watch the TV!) and was fitted with an automatic lock (fire door regs?) which had gouged a massive slice out of the carpet.
Apart from the size issue, the quality of the room and its fittings was reasonable (if dated) and, despite being close to the "minature" lifts (strictly "one at a time" if you're a bit on the lardy side and have a bag with you!), the noise level from the rest of the hotel wasn't bad. Towels however were at least 100 years old - fine if you like the raggedy, frayed look!
Reception was efficient if not particularly enthusiastic with the welcome, and food (we only tried the continental breakfast so I can't comment on anything else) was reasonable. Once again however, the dining room is very small, cramped and dated, with long queues for food competing for space with busy staff.
I paid £95 per night including continental breakfast which is competitive for the area but on balance I have stayed in much better accommodation in central London for similar money and wouldn't go back here unless they make some significant improvements.
PS: Note to hotel owners: Calling your establishment "Boutique" doesn't suddenly make the dated and worn out look acceptable!
We had a restaurant booked near Marble Arch - the hotel was walking distance.
We had a room with lovely rooftop terrace - quite small but clean and well appointed. The continental breakfast was more than adequate - cooked breakfast available at reasonable extra cost. Staff very friendly.
Really friendly helpful staff, which makes a huge difference. Customer Service Quality of Room Quality of Food Cleanliness of Hotel Value for Money Family Friendly
