Clean and affordable place to stay in London

The front desk is great at this hotel. Rooms are small and very clean. Would stay here again. Excellent value for money. No bells and whistles, but very practical and clean

Good room, convenient location

Once I found the hotel (walked right past the small reception initially!) was suprised by the good size of the room. Fairly basic as you'd expect from a budget hotel chain but everything there that you would expect.
Room faced the street so there was some noise but not too bad at all. Lots of places to eat nearby as there is no restaurant in the hotel and is only a short walk to the tube to get into central london and Paddington. Marleybone Station and bars within walking distance too.
Breakfast is included which is good as I wouldn't want to pay for it. Basic continental selection and hot drinks from the vending machine were pretty awful especially. Would stay again for the location and easy transport links but would find a cafe for brekkie!

Bad start, slight improvement, wish we hadn't bothered....

Well, a bit of a disaster from start to finish, only turned around by the fantastic Jonathan in customer service at laterooms.com. Price advertised of £15. Booked. Email confirmed. Hotel rang, and said laterooms had a technical error and room was £150, but I could have it for £129....!!!! Needless to say, extremely unhappy. Rang laterooms, Jonathan was brilliant and said there are no technical errors, only human ones, and the hotels load the pricing themselves! He commited to helping me get a better deal.
My partner and I were collecting money for Help for Heroes at London Marathon and every £ saved mattered. What really angered me was the fact someone claiming to be from laterooms.com advised that the hotel could only let me have the room for £129. I did not believe this person was from laterooms, but from the hotel. I have yet to be advised otherwise and this troubles me still.
Jonathan was persistent, and chased the hotel down until a resolution was found. The hotel finally conceeded to let me have the room for £49, with free wifi (not needed), however refused to give me free parking (£15) as compensation. No bar on site, no restaurant, so parking was all they really had to offer me, and they refused to give me this. As it was a Saturday, and we could park on a single yellow after 6pm, I agreed as by this point, the cheapest hotel in London for that date was in excess of £80. This did mean that we could only arrive in London after 6pm, and ruined our evening as it was then spent on the motorway in rush hour traffic. Check in was fine, and we dumped our case and went out. Distances to tube and Oxford St all accurate as per descriptions, however the room was not worth £49. Bed mattress was thin and poor at best, my partner did not even sleep. Breakfast was shockingly basic, just some cereals and what I would class as continental does not consist of 4 packets of individually wrapped orange type cheese, some yoghurts and some undated eggs, raw or cooked, I have no idea....a few pastries and mini muffins. Given my partner is diabetic, he had to satisfy himself with cornflakes, followed by a second box of cornflakes. The only good thing I have to say is that laterooms have behaved in a stellar way over this issue, and I have no hesitation using the website again, however I will never, ever stay at this hotel again. It is only because I have stayed at comfort inn in st albans that I know this is not a chain issue, but specific to this particular hotel.

Noy so much of a 3 star

Well receptionist was not up to his job, he did not seem like a pleasant person to receive the guests on top he said hotel did not have a deal with late room which made me really upset then he sorted his mess but did not bother to apologise. Yes it is value for money in terms of accommodation but not in terms service.

Well worth it

Having never used the Laterooms.com site before, it was a risk - but I was very pleased and surprised at the result. Although the Staff were polite, there was very little contact to make any real assessment. The room was spotlessly clean, small yes, but ample for a few days stop in London. I was on the Edgware Road side of the hotel and it was noisy, but it is, after all, central London - I expected as much.
The room was clean, warm, comfortable and well worth the cost. Quite frankly, it was a bargain and a good beginning with Laterooms.com. Thanks.

Weekend break

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was quiet and the food was more then enough. The area is very lively with choice of restaurants, we went to one about 3 doors down and had complementary soup and naan bread when we ordered a platter of kebabs, it was delicious. The hotel room had a really useful information book about the area and it was very close to Tubes. The free use of the luggage room was a real bonus.

My stay at Comfort Inn Edgeware Road

Staff very pleasant and accommodating.Room clean tidy and cosy.
One silly detail: no biscuits in tea/ coffee tray. This sounds very petty but makes a difference when you have just spent a long day walking around London and just want to enjoy a cup of tea with a biscuit . Now I know, I will buy them elsewhere and take to the hotel if I go again.

A good standard of hotel - nothing flash but has all you need and we had a great 3 nights stay here - the room was clean, quiet and with all you would expect from a hotel chain - the staff where very pleasent and polit and made us welcome - breakfast is continental and has a decent selection - it is a little way out of London center but we enjoyed the walk in each day - we would stay again -

An excellent option at the discount price

Pretty standard double room in a chain hotel. Nice enough. Modern TV. Keycode safe in room. Kettle etc (though dump the Nescafé please and put in a Fair Trade coffee). Not spacious, but has a small table and chair and some sort of wi-fi option, which I didn't use. Breakfast was self-service continental. I wouldn't be too impressed at full price, but will definitely stay again at these rates.

Good location for close proximity to underground

Polite staff, clean room, tea/coffee facilities and help-yourself breakfast; this room was booked at a budget price so I wasn't expecting the best, but all in all it was good for London. Only bad thing was not being able to sleep due to the flat mattress. My daughter shared a double bed with me, and by the second night of our stay, we discovered that her side was in better condition than mine, and my side of the mattress went flat as soon as you sat on it! I'd possibly stay here again, but would ask for a different room.

A good low budget hotel

This was a good value budget hotel at £49 for the room plus breakfast for two. The room was small but perfectly acceptable for two people. It had a single bed in addition to the double bed and would have been cramped if 3 people had been using the room. The reception and breakfast staff were very pleasant and efficient. Breakfast choice was limited but very acceptable at this budget price and in this location. The hotel is convenient for bus, tube and main line station (Paddington). Our room was quiet (being at the side of the hotel and not facing the Edgeware Road) but you could hear other guests moving around in adjacent rooms.

Very Good Value

This hotel is what I expected from a Comfort Inn... basic, but safe and clean. An American traveler should not expect a normal Comfort Inn layout here. The entrance is an anonymous single door to the sidewalk and the lobby is tiny. The sign above the entrance is not visible beyond 1 block away. Not important however, the rest is all Comfort Inn standard. Clean room, good bathroom and shower. Mattress needs updating, though. Breakfast was one of best on my trip. Location is excellent. Tube is 2-3 blocks away. Bus stop is steps from entrance. Paddington Station (Heathrow Express) is a 20-25 minute walk but bus goes directly there. This is a good location for arrival nights or departure nights when using the Heathrow Express. Good restaurants, grocery, and a pub or two close by. I'd stay again.

A real find

Would be difficult to equal such good, clean, value accommodation in central London, on first approach address seems unprepossessing, tucked in between shops on busy Edgware Rd, but once thru door this is a really super little hotel, well-run, feels safe to lone female business traveller, near tube; remarkably good value for money. It has all you need; maybe ask for room away from front to avoid some traffic noise.

When I arrived I was rather apprehensive as hotel entrance was difficult to find being a small door with the accomadation above a row of shops. After checking in the corridor appeared somewhat dingy but the room was adequate, nicely decorated and very clean. The shower was excellent being a decent size and efficient. There was a folder in the room with lots of useful information. Only criticism was the television which had ghosting on the screen so could not really watch it. The breakfast was in a room and you helped yourself which suited me fine and there was plenty of choice. There was a television on in the dining room, with the news and the sound turned down so perhaps it would have been nice to have subtitles on.
