Lives up to its name

Great location just near St Pancras. Friendly welcome; reasonably priced wifi. Clean comfortable room with added advantage of kitchen facilities and a good working space. I'd definitely come again. Only downside was that the bathroom smelled a bit stale.

Good location but not worth the full price - would not have wanted to pay more

The hotel was in a good location as was close to the train station and underground and it was easy to find. Although this hotel says it is 4 star I would say it is 3 star and I have stayed in better 3 star hotel's than this one. The suite we stayed in was in the basement and the corridors were quite narrow, on the next morning the corridor was filled with bags of sheets ready for changing the beds which meant that I could not push my daughter's pushchair to the lift. Luckily she is able to walk so the buggy was folded. I did think this could be a fire hazard. Although the room was clean it had a funny smell and was not very warm although the climate control did work and it soon warmed up. Some of the fittings in the room were a bit worn such as the carpet and the shower leaked slightly. There were no BBC channels on the Freeview but it was a nice flatscreen TV. Our suite slept 4, there was a wardrobe and drawers and a full length mirror but I think the room would have been cramped with 4 adults in it. The breakfast was ok nothing special but plenty of choice, the only problem was that the breakfast room is not big enough and only has 4 tables. When we arrived at breakfast the room was full and there was already a family waiting, this is not good when you have an impatient toddler. They could have fitted at least another table in if the furniture was arranged more sensibly. The staff were friendly enough. I would stay here again as the location is great but I would ask for a room on the first or second floors and I would not pay the full room price.

Not at all comforting

This hotel was one big disappointment, apart from the location which is very convenient for Kings Cross, St Pancras, British Museum and other delights of Bloomsbury. The room was cramped with one double and one single bed when we had booked a double, not a triple room. There was insufficient space for two people to move around at the same time. The carpet was dirty, the bathroom had no heat source and plenty of mildew. Although we paid £179 to stay on the Saturday night our room was not serviced on Sunday, our towels were still wet because there was nowhere to dry them and we had no clean cups. When I enquired why the room had not been serviced I was advised that rooms are only serviced after 2 nights. At this price I expect and have received better. I was provided with clean towels and cups, so long as I waited in reception and took them back to the room myself. The television is not satellite as advertised, but freeview and doesn't receive any of the BBC channels - so no chance to watch Match of the Day.

Basic room not a suite

This was advertised as a suite...but was not in any a suite. It was very basic, but clean. The TV didn't work properly and the manager could not fix it. The beds moved away from the headboard when we used them. One bed was jammed against a radiator we could not turn off and this was not good for my daughter. Uneven floor, curtains didn't match and one set broken. Very basic room but as it was a one night stay ok for our purpose.

Pleasantly surprised after previous stays in the same area.

The accommodation was very clean, plenty of space in our room with two double beds so would have been great for a family break. Bed was comfortable. Hotel located back from the main Kings Cross road so no traffic noise. Room had all the amenities for cooking and tables for eating. Good size TV. Decent shower but no bath. Reception staff friendly and helpful. Only slight downer was the breakfast was a bit limited. Good price for London at the moment where the rates are going sky high and stupid.

Ideal base for London Trip

We visited London, with a view to combining a shopping trip with visiting the well known attractions. The close proximity 100 yards of Kings Cross with the number of Tube lines available made travelling easy. The hotel gave us everything we wanted and would stay there again.

Be careful which Comfort Inn you book

I stayed around the corner at the other Comfort Inn Kings Cross the night before due to a confusion in the names - an experience definately not to be repeated. This venue is cleaner, more spacious and the owners are hands on and very caring.

Very basic and lacking in a welcoming approach

The receptionist was clearly more interested in talking on the phone and using you tube on his computer everytime we went in and out of the building, he managed a hello and goodbye at the beginning and end of our stay, he did little to interact with us or make us feel welcome
the room was ok except that the main bedroom door could not be closed as an extra bed in the room meant the double bed had been moved over, the beds were probably the most uncomfortable i have ever slept in
the breakfast room is clearly too small for the size of the hotel 14 rooms and only 6 tables layed out in a very tiny space - people were falling over themselves trying to reach the oddly laid out 'buffet'
the shower was awful and at times only a trickle of water could be managed
there were only two mugs provided for 4 people, the kitchen cupboard would not close because the plates were too big to sit on the shelf, the mirror was hanging off the wall and the general paintwork was shabby
the only good think to say was that there were two good tv's and air condition in the main bedroom which was definetely needed as the rooms were so hot and its close to kingscross station

Budget Hotel

This hotel is ideal if you are using Eurostar as it's minutes away from St. Pancreas. It is a clean, budget style hotel. It has a fridge and a microwave if you wanted to do a small amount of cooking. Staff are helpful but.......
The breakfast room is not big enough to cater for the number of guests using it. Breakfast was difficult - there's hardly any room to either serve yourself or eat the food comfortably.
There are deals that will match the price you'll pay for this hotel which offer more ambience and a bigger restaurant!

Complaint

The first night my daughter informed the night manager that we could hear a dripping sound. He came to our room Suite 15 and agreed there was a dripping sound but could not identify its source. As a result of this sound we could not sleep. This dripping sound continued until 3:30 when it became much louder. My daughter informed the night manager and he returned to our room. At that point we noticed water dripping on to the carpet. The night manager left to see if he could find us another room. By the time he returned the water was pouring through the ceiling . We gathered up our clothes and went to Suite 7. I think we should get a refund for this disruption. In the morning the Day manager was not very sympathic to our plight. The night manager was excellent in helping us when he realised the nature of the problem. Our second night was fine.

Good service, very clean, good quality

Appeared small and a bit poky at first, although welcome and customer service excellent. Room lovely, surprisingly spacious, with every facility, no view whatsover, but irrelevant for us as on a sightseeing break, arriving back at hotel late and leaving early next morning. Leaving luggage facilities excellent, as was proximity to Kings Cross. Sheets lovely and crisp and clean, exactly what you need after a hard day's sightseeing. Not cheap for services, but reasonable.

Comfort Inn Suites - Kings Cross

The location is ideal for Kings Cross/St Pancras only a few minutes walk away. The room was good, a small kitchen, (just a microwave/sink and fridge, although we didn't use it), comfortable beds and a good shower. We stayed in suite 4 which was in the basement next to the breakfast room. Woken at 6.30am by clattering plates/pots which went on until about 10am. We stayed in London to go to a Wembley gig so the noise wasn't ideal. If you are given suite 4 I would request to be moved, unless you like an early rise. Apart from that everything was as expected.
Would stay again and recommend but I would request not to be put in suite 4.
