When we checked in, we were told we had been upgraded to a family room - Suite 1. Unfortunately, Suite 1 turned out to be a gloomy room in the basement. It was certainly very spacious, but the ensuite shower-room had a strange, dank smell, and the room was very dark and claustrophobic. The hotel is very handy for St Pancras International & Eurostar - so still worth considering if you're only staying one night.

This was an ideal stopover hotel for going on to the Eurostar. We had a two room suite with a double and single bed in one room. This was a bid crowded as we couldn't shut the bedroom door. The other room contained another bed. It was good value for money and ideal for what we wanted which was to walk to Eurostar the next morning. It was clean and quiet which is often unusual in london. Breakfast was sufficient and was all self service. Would definitely use again when we next use Eurostar.

Excellently located, given that my business venue is on Pentonville Road; and very competitive price. The room was clean and offered sufficient facilities to be able to spend some comfortable time there (with tv and kettle plus good en-suite shower-room and lavatory. I had feared it might be noisy, being so close to Kings Cross Station and Grays Inn Road, but it was not and I slept well. The Dining Room in the morning was overloaded (everyone seeking indulgently 'late breakdfast at 8.30am perhaps?) and the staff might have been a little more forthcominhg in explaining the arrangements for a standing guest with patently no place to sit, but this was soon overcome when I asked to join an occupied table. I have recommended this hotel to other colleagues visiting our head office!

The bathroom shwoer unit were clena and gave the person staying the encouragement of being green by using/reusing their towels. The front desk staff were helpful and polite. I would definitely stay again.

On arrival we were told that due to a leak our co-operation was required and could we move to another Comfort Inn around the corner. We paid at the first hotel and was allocated a room at the other hotel. I was asked to leave my credit card behind the reception desk and I refused, they explained that no money would be taken from my card. I refused. They said it was hotel policy. I refused saying that it was MY POLICY that I never let my card out of my sight and I apologised saying there was nothing I could do about it. One phone call later and I was booked in. There is no legitimate reason to leave your card behind a reception desk where anyone can have access to it. Don't do it!!! Hotel room and shower/toilet was very clean. Breakfast was continental and basic. Basic and pricey but much cleaner than other basic hotels.

The room was beautiful, very clean and nicely decorated. We were very close to St Pancras & King Cross Stations but we did not hear any traffic noise at all, in fact hotel was very peaceful. Breakfast was continental, everything nice and fresh and tasty. All the staff we encountered were helpful and friendly. Our only complaint wasn't with the hotel but with a taxi firm that the receptionist ordered for us and we felt we were over charged for the journey.

Clean, modern and very tidy. Small hotel with not much room. Okay as a base but not if you want to spend any time in the building. Even so, we had a couple of issues...*The safe wouldn't work and the staff had no way of resetting it. *The kettle didn't work and wasn't replaced. One member of staff let us use the breakfast room when we wanted a drink but didn't pass the info on, so was refused by another staff member.*Lastly, we had problems when ordering a taxi. Staff member ordered us a taxi and asked for a price. This sounded quite pricey but because it was raining heavily we decided to pay. When the "taxi" turned up it was quite apparent that this was no black cab, but probably a friend of the member of staff. No plate or clock! On checking the price he then quoted an even more expensive journey. We decided to run to the tube which was only a couple of hundred yards away.

After reading many positive reviews about this hotel...
After reading many positive reviews about this hotel we decided to stay overnight as the location was ideal for catching a train the following morning. The chap on reception was friendly, but I felt that this was because he had to be rather than wished to be. Our room was not easy to access; from the lift we had to go down a short, very narrow stairway - difficult with 2 large cases plus hand luggage. The room itself was the smallest I have every stayed in - there was hardly enough space to pass between the bottom of the bed and the chest of drawers. There was also the problem of where to stash our cases. There was a tiny space in the tiniest of wardrobes; the other case had to go by the far corner at the end of the bed, thereby making it almost impossible to get into bed.The remote control for the television did not work. We went to reception to get new batteries, but there was none. My husband therefore had to switch the TV on and off/change channels manually. If I had been travelling alone there would have been no TV for me as I am under 5ft tall, and the TV was ON TOP of the wardrobe. The breakfast room was just as disappointing - unless one enjoys dining in a student hostel. Very basic, non-inspiring food and dreadful coffee. On the morning of our departure we needed to check if our train to Scotland was still running as many services had been cancelled because of the weather. I was going to check on the internet, which would have taken about 5 minutes, but the minimum charge was £6. I explained to the person on reception that I needed to check the trains, however, there was no offer on his part to make a phone call to the station or rail company to find out for us - not my idea of customer service. This is the first time I have ever stayed at a Comfort Inn, and I guarantee it will be my last. If we had been unable to travel that day I would not have returned to the Comfort Inn - I noticed that there were at least three other very nice looking hotels in the same road - we would have booked into one of those. Extremely overpriced even for a London hotel.

Clean, recently decorated room with mutilple beds and small kitchen area in a basement room with a frosted out window looking out onto a brick wall. Facilities fine, but ambience a bit grim. Basement breakfast room with no windows and an array of help yourself cereals, yogurts and pastries. No sign of any staff, or indeed other guests, in the breakfast room.If my room had had four people in it then I guess it would be reasonable value by London standards but you can get a family room in a PremierInn with a room with a window above ground that you can see out of for about the same price just around the corner.

The booking says "Executive Suite" and includes "dining table and chairs "(they were either small you couldn't see them or non existant - there was one chair), not really a suite just a small room...... infact it was a very small room, just enough space to walk round the double bed. Poor quality finish to furniture and the shower room smelt damp. The room itself and hotel were clean and recently decorated/furnished, the staff very friendly and the self service breakfast room in the basement tidy and well stocked. We booked it to be near Kings Cross for an early start and it was; Executive Suite however it certainly wasn't !!

We were really pleased with the standard of the suite in Comfort Inn and Suites - it gives excellent value for money in a location that is close to great transport links. Clean, comfortable good-sized room with very helpful, courteous reception staff on duty 24 hours. Being women we are always conscious of safety needs and we never felt there was any threat; the hotel being accessible only by a secure door-entry system. Breakfast is provided; it isn't amazingly nutritious, but there is enough and a fair amount of choice too and hte staff were courteous and kept the tiny dining room clean and well-stocked. Shame about the size of that room, but I can see the logic of it - as mostly it is difficult to guage the staggering. We didn't see people having to wait more than 5 mins for a table though. We would recommend this accommodation to families particularly and also small groups travelling together.

We never got to experience this hotel as, after searching for and assuring us they had received our reservation, they moved us next door to a B & B which we would never have chosen for our visit. They gave no apology and no explanation. If I ever I book this hotel again, which is highly unlikely, I will ring beforehand to ensure they have the reservation and I would recommend anyone holding a booking with them to do the same.

We booked a room at Comfort Inn and Suites, Argyle Street because there was a better review on the website. We arrived at 9.30 pm to be abruptly told by the person on reception "you're in the wrong place, you need to go to Chad's Street." We produced our booking confirmation for Argyle Street and after some hesitation and searching on the computer we were given the excuse, "there is a problem with the room." We were pushed out to Chad's Street and feel that we were treated very poorly and that somehow we missed out on something but we are not sure what. At Chad's Street there was a room for us - it was clean, comfortable, functional along with a good bathroom. It was fine for our one night stay.

Having travelled by train to King s Cross...
Having travelled by train to King`s Cross, we couldn`t believe how close the hotel was to the station, so we didn`t have far to go to with our cases. We had a 4 night stay with 2 children and the room was ideal - clean & very quiet considering the proximity to such a busy road. The only fault we could find was that the breakfast room was small and the first morning we found it difficult for 4 of us to get seats, however, the food & drinks on offer were excellent. On our last day we made use of the luggage room as our train didn`t leave until 4pm which allowed us some extra time sight-seeing. As far as we`re concerned, this hotel was perfect and so handy for trains, tubes & buses. It`s also within easy reach of Trafalgar Square, Madame Tussauds & Regent`s Park by foot. It may not be for you if you`re expecting luxury accommodation but we would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends.

My room was tiny, barely space for two beds and the microwave/fridge/sink but I was out all day anyway, and just wanted somewhere clean and comfortable to sleep. It was at the back, next to the stairs, and there was a little bit of noise from the corridor and not much light. Might have been a bit cramped for two people, though! My colleague paid the same price and got a huge four-bedded room on the top floor, lovely and light, with lots of space and a small table to work/eat at. So if you can get a room upstairs, go for it, but in any case it was good value.

I work in London regularly and have stayed here before without any problems. As my wife was coming down for her birthday, I decided to book an "executive" suite because it provided extra space and facilities. However, when I arrived, I was told that I had been transferred to the neighbouring Comfort Inn and was assured that the room would be of an equivalent standard - which was not true! We were placed in a very small twin room with barely enough room to walk around the beds. Even though the sheets were clean, the bed covers smelled grubby - and a number of tiles on the bathroom floor were loose and broken with black stuff lurking in the cracks. Not a pleasant experience - and never again!
