Quite hotel

Away from the noise but close enough to everything London has to offer. one very small issue, the toilet could have been cleaned a little bit better.

Clean but mediocre

The room was very clean, however the bathroom was very small. The registration desk was not manned in the evening and we were told that in the event of a problem we should go to the Hotel opposite for asistance. However the lights in our room failed when we arrived back at the hotel at 11.30pm. The hotel opposite could not help and we had to retire using the light from the TV. There was no light at all in the Bathroom. Upon leaving the Hotel we were given a rebate of £15 for the inconvenience

Friendly staff and easy check in, very clean and tidy hotel, breakfast was ample and lovely, hotel was 5 min walk from tube and the only bad thing to say was that we had a room at the front of the hotel so didnt get much sleep as the main road was noisy,

Look past your first impressions

Not a good looking hotel, but once in good value for money.Clean and tidy, comfortable bed plus the room was a good size.
Only downside I could see was the hot and cold water trickled from the basin.

Excellent value

Hotel was being refurbished, but staff were very helpful. Had a room at the top of the hotel. Warm and quiet enough, but bit of a trek up without a lift. Also had car parking which I needed, and no problem with that. Overall, excellent value and I would go back.

You get what you pay for

It was for only one night, location was important. I had arrived at Paddington by train, the hotel was just a 10 minute walk. It was also handy for Hamilton Place, where the conference was that I was attending. The room was on the 3rd floor, there was no lift. The room was small but adequate for one. There was only a trickle of water from the taps, so I didn't try the shower. The TV didn't work, the windows wouldn't open so the room was stuffy. But there was clothes hanging space, and tea/coffee making equipment. Free wifi was a feature, but the signal wasn't strong enough to get online. Breakfast was included in the room price, but wasn't available till 8 am and I had to leave before then, so didn't get breakfast.

You get what you pay for!

We stayed for three nights recently in a triple room which, although comfy, was very small. If all three of us were in the room at the same time, I found you had to climb over the beds to get from one side of the room to the other!! The bathroom was very small too - akin to the ones you get in the budget hotels in Europe. i.e. Shower, toilet and basin in one small confined space. Having said that, our stay was enjoyable. The staff were excellent and very courteous. Although the Hotel could maybe do with a little updating and a lick of paint here and there, it was very clean. There's no restaurant and breakfast is served just off reception. Breakfast is adequate with enough in the way of cereal, bread, croissants, jams, cheese and ham etc. There is no hairdryer in the room but you just need to ask at reception and they will provide one. Situated in a perfect location, just a few minutes walk from Paddington station and only about a twenty minute walk to Marble Arch. Plenty of pubs and restaurants in the area too. If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel with no frills then this is the place for you. I would not hesitate in booking here again.

Hotel Columbus no great discovery

The young lady on duty in the evening and the young man on duty the next day were very helpful. The location of the hotel is good. The room, the beds, the "bathroom" were appalling. Expect a room too small to swing a cat in. The "bathroom" was a sort of strange "pod" in the corner of the room, with no fan or ventiliation. You couldn't even open the door properly as the bed was so close. Absolutely atrocious and it should be a criminal offence to charge the price we paid for that sort of accomodation. The interior of the hotel was tawdry and looked like not a penny had been spent on the place for many many years. If I could give the place 0 out of 6 I would.

Great value

A nice little hotel, good value for money, small but clean rooms, great location. Laterooms.com quoted me the wrong price for the rooms though, so worth checking that.

Room and toilet very small. Room airless and hot. Biggest problem - ants crawling around on furniture which was reported but not dealt with.
