The perfect hotel for a quiet place to stay on the doorstep of the central London sites - excellent connections to Underground and within short taxi ride to Paddington. Exquisite decor and relaxing ambience. Charming and helpful staff.

Booked this room knowing it was slightly out of the heart of the city and would be handy for Notting Hill / St. Johns Wood. Got a taxi from Oxford Street on a Saturday afternoon at 4pm and it was less than 10mins to the hotel - I was delighted to learn that it is the birthplace of Alan Turing. Very clean and efficient login, although the bill included £25 for breakfast for two people, despite booking Room Only (this was easily changed at check-out). Complimentary crisps, drinks, nuts, sweets and fruit in the room are a nice touch. Very comfortable room and bed but not quite what I would classify as 'boutique'. We were on the 4th floor, worth noting that the lift only goes to the third, but the extra hike was worth it for a good view over the local area - great for nosing into the apartments opposite! Little Venice is not really enough to keep you busy for an evening, but Portobello Road is a easy and enjoyable 15 minute walk with some great restaurants and bars (The Castle had a good band and the menu looked fantastic). The Kitchen & Pantry coffee shop (Elgin Crescent) just off Portobello Road is probably the best coffee shop I have EVER been in (and I love coffee shops). Open from 8am on a Sunday they offer fantastic coffee and juices, amazing scrambled eggs, homemade scones and croissants. I would happily stay all day!

Loved the location, the hotel was quirky and interesting but the finish wasn't there for the price. I would use again if I could find a great deal.

From the money I had to ask them to remove the cat from the dining room I had a bad feeling about the hotel. I arrived and was given a basement room above the tube station, with train noise. Not good for 150 pounds a night. I got reassigned to a room that was ok great bed and clean sheets, but the room was shabby.

Stayed in Room 9 in basement - very poor night's sleep - stifling hot unless you had the huge, noisy air-con unit on all night AND you can hear the underground trains beneath you! Maybe OK in upper rooms though? Did not eat in as the ebar is a bit soul-less and there's a great pub/dining room round the corner - Prince Albert/Alfred(?) provided fantastic atmosphere and evening meal - but book a table as gets very busy.
