This hotel was perfect for us. As a couple who wanted a nice place to stay for a cheap price this hotel was brilliant. We had a double ensuite room, the room comprised also of a LCD TV wardrobe and desk. The quality of decoration could have been better as it was clear there was some maintance going on with the decoration in our room. The room was very clean and towels were provided. We had the use of the kitchen and could also have tea, coffee and cereal without extra cost. We were very near to the tube station, convience store and a lovely pub. The hotel was just what we needed and we would stay there again.

Rooms were clean, staff very helpful. Although breakfast not included they said we could help ourselves to milk, cereal, bread etc., in the communal kitchen! Even had chocolate swiss roll!! Only down point was it is on a main road so there was alot of traffic noice but we had the window open as it was hot! All things considered I would definitely stay there again. If you just want a place to crash for the night this is the place.

I've stayed here before in a room at the back, and it's been good. This time I had a room at the front ie facing the Bow Road. If you know the East End, then you know it's really busy/noisy and no, the Double glazed sash windows don't keep the noise out. It'd be ok, but don't ben fooled into thinking you're getting a quiet night. But you pay for what you get.

It was clean, had a bed, wasn't too noisy, had a pretty nice bathroom, no fuss, very near a tube stop and opposite a very good 24 hour shop. Being so convenient for central London - at that price, it's just right! The main downside was that it was incredibly hot in the room - you could tell it was a familiar problem because there was a little air conditioning unit in the room.Wouldn't stay there on holiday or for more than a night or two - but for a cheap stopover, perfect.

I needed a hotel in London to stay...
I needed a hotel in London to stay in the night before an audition at Laban Dance near Greenwich. This hotel had excellent location in terms of transport availability as the Bow Road Station was only 5 mins away & it was actually next door to the Bow Church Light Rail which i needed to get the next day. Even though we were close to the railway we were not disturbed by any noise. We weren't expecting a lot and although the room was £50 for one night it was the cheapest we could find with a good location. The room was quite basic but for a one night stay this was fine for us but probably not for any longer than 2/3 nights as the room is quite small as well as the bathroom but it is nicely decorated. Also there doesn't seem to be a lot going on in the surrounding area and it's a bit run down, but if you're wanting a place to stay where you can travel to other places in London during the day this is an ideal place. Overall, we weren't expecting a lot with this room but we were very pleased and although i was to nervous to sleep, my boyfriend slept very well.

For the price that was paid for this accommodation I was very satisfied with the standard of room and overall facilities within this hotel. Two small things that needed fixing - plug was not available in the sink of the bathroom and there was no fresh milk for the self serve breakfast the next morning. The room looked out onto the main street and railway and would be more aesethically pleasing if there were some net curtains so that people could not look in when you opened the curtains. The air conditioning unit was very welcomed as the room was quite warm during the night. The room was very quiet and we had a peaceful nights sleep.the staff were helpful and friendly on arrival.I would book this hotel again if I needed to visit the O2 as it was very convenient to the train and underground and very reasonably priced.

Clean, comfortable rooms with no frills. If all you need at the end of a busy day is a clean and comfortable room then you could do worse than choose this hotel. Very close to the District line - a few hundred yards, and right next door to the DLR line. Only offputting part was that I had to ring a bell to get into the hotel, giving the impression it was more a hostel than hotel, but once inside all was fine.

Room was very small and consisted of double bed, LCD TV, wardrobe, table and bedside table with lamp. Ensuite was nice - shower, toilet and sink although vey small again. For the price tough this was very good. I looked at other hotels in the area and anything else around this price range was for just a room with a shared bathroom. It said it had tea and coffee facilities but we didn't have any in our room. There is no parking for the hotel and parking in the surrounding area for pemit holders only. We parked on a side street and hoped to not get a parking ticket. The hotel staff said that there was parking at the side but this was sign posted saying it was parking for Barclays bank staff and you would be clamped, apparently they are in dispute as to who the parking belongs to. Staff on arrival were very friendly - his nam ws Atif - although upon returning to the hotel at 11:30pm it took them abou 10 minutes to aswer the door and it was freezing outside. Not many plug sockets in the room - we had 1 double socket. Overall the stay was ok and good value for money. I would stay there again but can't see myself travelling to London again, for the price of this hotel in Manchester you could stay in a Premier Travel Inn and I have to say that they are much nicer. Also LateRooms.com took my debit card details, I understood this was to ensure booking, and I paid cash upon arrival but later found that £49.90 had been taken from my acount and replaced again. So check your statements!!

I had originally booked a single room but when I arrived was given a room with a double and one single bed at the rear of the porperty (en suite). I was very pleased with the room, it was basic, very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable (appeared to be brand new). As I was travelling alone, I felt completely safe and secure here. I was attending the O2 for the ATP tennis finals and the accommodation is next door to the Dock Light Railway which takes you into Canary Warf where you change for the tube (jubilee line) to the O2. Alternatively there is a tube station (Bow Road) which is only 200 mts away from CityStay Hotel and you can get the District Line to West Ham (2 stops away) and then change there to the Jubilee Line for the O2. A great place to stay if you are visiting the O2 and I would definitely use it again and would recommend it to everyone. You also have the opportunity to use the kitchen for making tea/coffee and light breakfast, I didnt avail of this but it was a very nice touch. Would recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting the O2 or for a business trip to Canary Wharf. Many thanks.

We were very happy with the standard of this small hotel in an area where there is very little choice of places to stay. It is clean - our room had a newly refurbished ensuite bathroom. The beds were very comfortable. No frills, but perfectly good for a base when visitibg London.Very convenient for public transport. Will use agian.

Wanting to check if you want him to come in and put your radiator on for you! Then this is the place for you. The walls and ceilings had damp, the staff were very strange to say the least, especially considering the incident i mentioned above which was my mothers room, and we had a bathroom that filled up like a swimming pool whilst taking a shower .there is no parking allocated for this hotel at all. Also a photocopy of my partners driving licence was taken for id which was fine but upon leaving we asked for this back and they replied that they did not have it!! Tv room and tea and coffee making facilities were all occupied by staff and presumed family members all men very off putting did not feel comfortable to even look inside.we stayed out most of the two days we were there.for the price i didnt expect the rooms to be great so not really a dissapointment on that score but if i was on my own i really wouldnt feel comfortable very wierd staff and atmosphere and if you have a car you may aswell pay more to stay somewhere else with free parking as what we paid to park could have put us somewhere far nicer

The smoke detector head in my room was covered by the protective cap supplied by the manufacturer. This would have meant it would not have activated in the event of a fire. As a professional fire engineer this concerned me greatly. I removed it and took it to the hotel reception who thought the situation amusing. It didn't seem to concern them that, whilst this cover was in place, the smoke detector was inoperable. I, or someone else in my position, could have died in that room, and they found it amusing!!!!On a lighter note, the television in my room would not receive ITV, and was intermittent on other channels. The picture and sound kept "freezing", which meant one lost track of whatever one was watching. The rooms are only serviced every other day which, considering the cost, is not acceptable as others in the same price bracket service daily. On a positive note, there is a kitchen available to all guests, where bread, milk, eggs etc was provided free of charge, for the use of all. There is also a microwave and cooker for people to prepare their own food. Definitely a good service.

I really liked staying at CityStay because I work very early in the morning, and the kitchen diner available to guests works really well for me. Instead of fussing with tea tray in your room, you pop down to the lovely basement kitchen dining room and help yourself at any time to as many cups of tea/coffee as you need, a bowl of cereal, toast, juice etc. Brilliant, I was able to rise early, organise myself early breakfast, and go. Will definately stay again, staff were friendly and welcoming. My room and ensuite bathroom were very tidy and clean. At the front the Bow road is busy and noisy all night, so I would have liked to open a window but had to keep it tight shut. Slept reasonably well and no disturbances or late revelry from fellow guests.
