TV didn't work, one staff member couldn't fix it and they sent someone into my room whilst I was out to try again! He failed. They were apologetic but not willing to do anything about it. Wi-fi didn't work properly, they refunded the charge but that didn't fix the problem of no wi-fi meaning rather than a relaxing evening in my room I had to go out.
Noisy room and not that comfy bed. OK for the money but I wouldn't stay here again.
Not a restaurant chain in sight. So many little places to eat offering excellent food from around the world. A melting pot. Enjoyed it.
Summary
I was lucky enough to get a deal on this room which made it very good value for money.
If I had paid the full rate for a single I would have been very unhappy overall.
Very friendly and profession, clean spacious room, excellent value.
Summary
I have spent a year working in the City of London and have stayed in more hotels in the vicinity than I can honestly remember. Book this hotel with confidence - the interior, standard of staff, and rooms, are all excellent. If the price is right I will definitely be back!
Summary
Spacious room, very clean and modern fittings, conveniently located very close to Aldgate East underground. Staff friendly and efficient. No complaints. Would stay here again.
Summary
This hotel is very convenient for staying in London near to the Tower of London and the colourful area of Brick Lane with plenty of Indian restaurants nearby.

Summary
Surprisingly large room, you expect to be disappointed in London. Very central. Plumbing a bit noisy.
Summary
Amazing value - £39 and had a whole suite to myself
Summary
I was looking for reasonably priced, easy to find, accommodation in a central location at short notice. The City Hotel was an excellent find in terms of location, customer service and price. Staff were very poite and helpful and the room whist basic was immaculate and met all of my needs. I will return.
Summary
Good value hotel, if like me, you only paid £39 for the night. Very close to tube station.
My room was a bit noisy as it was near the outside air conditioning unit but it was Clean and tidy.
Friendly and efficient staff, very polite.
Nice room, clean and modern.
The staff here are very accomodating, they let me have a late check out, free of charge which helped as my interview wasn't until later. The rooms were clean although quite reflective of a 3 star basic hotel. It is quite a noisy area but may just be London in general. Would be great location if my trip was for leisure purposes.
Summary
Were in London for a new years day party in shoreditch and some shopping. The hotel got us a taxi and were helpful with directions. Room is right on bricklane, and perfect if you love vintage shopping like us. Great food and bars surrounding.
Room was clean and staff helpful. Would definately go back there next time we are in London :)
Clean, convenient and good value for money
Summary
Very clean and tidy hotel. Best of 5 LateRooms bookings I made this month.
Summary
Booked a room here thinking it was somewhere else.... very disappointed.
This hotel is very tired and in serious need of a refurb, it is a couple of streets away from the nicer part of the city. Even with an online price of £99 it is not worth it. The room reminded me of my first trip to London over 25 years ago......
Modern budget chains put this place to shame.
Very convenient - perfect.
Summary
The room was large and spacious, with a settee, large double bed, TV, fridge, kettle, cupboard, and bathroom. I had all i needed. Breakfast would have been a nice addition. The staff were friendly. The nature of the building meant that the internal decor and design was functional rather than attractive.
Summary
The room was good value and very clean. My only complaint was the noise levels. Firstly, being right above a restaurant/bar meant that there was a lot to chatter and loud laughter right outside the window until around 11pm. After that quieted down, the heating system provided a steady thumping all night.
However, I did have a good night and would return.
The hotel is located in a run down street, opposite a squat, and could do with a refurbishment. The decor is tired and dated at at £119 per person per night without breakfast i think it is overpriced. Of course it is London!
Summary
Stayed 1 night during business trip to London. Good value for money on a weekday- close to the City (tube station round the corner very convenient). Internet access chargeable separately - very irritating.
Summary
Seriously over-priced for what it is. Big lump of porcelain (I mean big, about 4cm across!) from sink. Very tired building.
Summary
Good location near Brick Lane - lots of bars and places to eat and very lively into the early hours. car park on site. friendly staff. clean room and bathroom. Lovely bar with large screens showing live football. Would recommend and stay here again.
Summary
Read a few worrying reviews before we stayed here but I was perfectly happy with the accommadation. Great location for the tube and easy to find, room was clean and tidy and high up enough to get city views!
Summary
Paid £50 for a single room on laterooms, central London, room was better than a travellodge, not massive but clean, sentral London and you cannot argue for the money. Wouldn't pay £140 though
Summary
Shame the bar /resturant shut at 11.00 as we had only just returned from our evening out,it would of been nice to have somewhere to sit and have a drink before returning to our room
Summary
Excellent hotel and the late rooms price deal was good too.
I wouldn't pay full price as mt travel and accommodation budget would not make it affordable but would always select this hotel if I can get a deal via laterooms
Staff were really pleasant & helpful - My reservation was for a quiet room and after a change of room I did get one which was very lucky as the music in the bar was incredibly loud.
Room was adequate but the net curtains and blinds were very tired. Bathroom was clean and newly decorated, as always the towels should have been bigger. Hotel Car park was very secure which was good as was able to leave items in car without worrying.
Room was more than adequate for an overnight, post-gig, stay. Bed comfortable. TV worked, :). Wasn;t needing anything more. Is excellently situated on the same street as Brick Lane, where there are an awesome number of Bengali Restaurants. 3 minute walk from Aldagte Tube on Circle/District lines. Would come back again mainly because of it's location.
Summary
Hotel sign needs to be lit up I couldnt see it and drove past
poor directions to carpark on website ie turn right after hotel then right into car park with no signs press gate button and speak to reception so they can open the gates to park overnight
Not clear on website that you could book breakfast and prices
Couldnt change the shower attachment to run the bath from the same taps, no instructions
Beds are sheets and blanket! bedside table so close to bed I was worried I would hit my head when I turned over
Booked as within easy reach of Excel (one tube journey), it was cheap and also good tv channel availability and internet access compulsory for me. However, tv was not tuned properly and hotel were unable to fix. Internet was free but very slow on the first day and then didn't work for the remainder of the stay. Bathroom did not smell great and the room was far too hot the whole time.

Negative Point =
6) Hotel Price
Its highly priced
7) Breakfast
Breakfast is not included in hotel room and its cost is 9.99 with very normal English breakfast.
The staff were not exactly welcoming when we arrived or when we asked them to phone phone us a taxi. they continued talking amongst themselves before speaking to us. I know this is a fairly budget hotel but that's no excuse for being rude. The room itself was large, clean and had all the right facilities, shame about the staff!
Summary
I stayed here on a Friday night for drinks not far from the hotel. The price was a bargain and the room was excellent value. I will stay here again and as it is at the bottom of Brick Lane it is an ideal base for a curt weekender!
Summary
Not a bad hotel on the face of it, but my first impression was not good as the corridors were rather pongy, a kind of stale cigarette smell...not at all appealing. The room was a tatty old room in need of redecorating with damaged blinds that let the light in and no curtains. Outside noise was quite intrusive, especially the glass bottle collection at 5.30am! The bathroom was good with reasonable quality fittings and stacks of hot water for quite a powerful shower in the morning. I would be hesitent in staying there again and indeed in recommending this to anyone. but it was a last minute booking and it is easy walking distance to Aldgate Tube.
