The room was well presented and clean with a functioning shower and toilet. Everything seemed fine until having a shower. From this point forward there was a constant pulsating sound from the vibrating pipes. Slowly this went away but again started around 1am and continued throughout the night. Room 615!!!

Excellent value for the money I paid. My colleague didn't appear to have as good a room as I had but again he thought it was good value. Very clean and friendly, one stop from Liverpool St Station so very central as well.

This hotel is shabby at the very least. The room smelt damp, had chipped and peeling furniture, broken blinds and a carpet i didnt want to walk on bare foot! totaly gross. The bar downstairs is nice though, im guessing its had a refurb.I ordered room service which was quick.... a little to quick, the food was passable. It is in a very rough part of town (at the end of brick lane, so doesnt feel to safe after dark, if i was female id stay locked in my room! This room was £65 pounds on late rooms, spend another ten to fifteen pounds and get a travel lodge or premire inn, bsic but clean...you wont regret it!

Booked 3 rooms. One room was on the 5th floor at the back of the hotel. The room was quiet and also reasonably modern though blinds were broken which meant morning sum woke me up. The other 2 rooms we booked were on the first floor at the front of the hotel. Decor was from the 1970's and needed a refurb. The proximity to the street meant a lot of noise whilst the party in the adjoining room meant very little sleep for two of my group. What's the use of a hotel if you can't get any sleep.

The hotel was comfortable and clean, probably due to the recent refurbishment. The staff were pleasant and helpfull. Although we didnt try the restaurant, it looked modern and clean. The bar was modern and the staff were helpfull and attentive. The breakfast was a buffet and was excellent. Brick lane is worth a visit and is right outside the hotel with a host of good Asian eating places and shops.

A great location, very modern, clean hotel but.. I thought £75 for one night not including breakfast was a bit steep, and it was not specified in the Late Room booking information that breakfast was not included in the price and would have added an additional £12.. So it was the cafe next door for a coffee and croissant. As other reviewers have stated the soundproofing leaves a lot to be desired, you can hear your neighbours, televisions and other sounds ;) through the walls into the small hours - get some earplugs if you need a good sleep! I would also recommend asking for a room at the back away from the front, as it gets VERY noisy street side with partying folk, especially at the weekend.

Hotel is in a great location for my purposes. Absolutely top class bathroom - better than any hotel I've stayed in; however bedding was questionable with the odd dirty mark and fag burn! Would definitely go back though as room was really big and had a fridge which was handy. TV good too with all the freeview channels.

No prblems here for the business traveller. Friendly helpful staff, walk tot he City, one end of Brick Lane for easy access to cheap eating if requred. Tube station the the end of the raod - 1 minute. will use it again. If you are on holiday though and want the West End for shows and shopping, you may want to stay that side of London for ease of access. Will stay again.

I stayed on the sixth floor and had a nice view of the Gherkin. Brick Lane is very close, great for curries. Only complaint is that the shower was very underpowered.

Clean basic room with flat screen TV. I'd have been disappointed if I'd paid the going rate, but a bargain at £55 via Laterooms in Central London.

Have stayed before as I like the East-End and am interested in the history of the area so I knew what to expect. Clean rooms, and staff are very nice. If you like fancy shops and expensive restaurants then probably not for you (but tube station very close by so all of London is easily accessible). If you like a few pints and a curry then this hotel is ideal though.

Stayued here with a colleague after a late work Christmas social.Room was decorated to a good standard and staff were friendly, specificly impressed with the pressure of the shower considering I was staying on the 2nd floor. The hotel's proximity to the city makes it convienet as it is withing staggering distance to the square mile.It is also at the Bottom of Brick lane which allows for a late night curry!!!Would stay here and recomend to others!!!

The room was tastefully furnished and of a good size. The touch of fresh flowers in the room was also nice. Our room faced the city so the view was good also. I liked the decor and in general felt this would be ideal for future overnight stays. My partner agreed with me and said he would also stay here if he were to stay in the City overnight again.

A wonderful hotel! The surroundings are not exactly pretty, however it is only corner away from the underground offering easy access to the centre of london. The hotel is very well kept and the ajoining restaurant is a gem - wonderful food and staff! Will certainly visit again!

Taxi drivers don't know it, the restaurant across the street had never heard of it. No signage whatever. Took me 15 minutes and asked 3 people before I found it (and I was dropped off next door). Once in, its great if you want an Apartment, rooms are spacious and well laid out with all mod cons. Bed is a standard double futon type.

Over-priced. Furniture is old, rooms rudimentary, although spacious. If staying here, ask for a room giving on the back side of the building. The front (street) side is so noisy, you will be woken up by drunk partyers, guaranteed.

I have stayed at the city hotel twice now and will be staying again in November. I can not fault the service, the hotel, comfort, well placed for the tube station. The east end of London is purely cultural and I feel very safe walking around. We have sampled a meal at the local indian restaurant and one of the best I have tasted.
