Fantastic place

I booked through late rooms and got a fantastic deal. We were one of two couples staying in a one bed apartment for one night as we were going to a friends party. Very clean and tidy place. Would happily stay here for longer periods of time with our kids.

Citadines Prestige Holborn - Covent Garden

We had a twin room which was very clean, quiet and comfortable. The hotel is well situated for the theatre area of London and is opposite a tube station. Good facilities, fridge, oven, kettle. Free hot drinks in the foyer very much appreciated. Would definitely use this hotel again.

Poor check in experience...room nice on the other hand

Once I had arrived, I waited 25 minutes in a very chaotic queue. Reservation staff were not very helpful and the desks were not manned sufficiently. When I finally got to the front of the queue the receptionist was quite rude and did not seem to care that much about customer experience; he left key details out about amenities and the internet access codes. All in all, probably one of the worst customer experiences I've ever had. Apart from that the room was sufficient for our needs, location was good for the West End meaning we could walk to all the locations we wanted to go to. Booking had stated this was a "deluxe" room but it was rather small with no views.

Citadines weekend break

Only complaint we had was there being no heating, had to wait until 2.30 for room to be ready but it was worth it apart from being chilly, great shower/bath and bed so comfy, my wife loved the gym:-) we will definitely be back soon, although quite expensive 1 night with no breakfast, think that should of been included, we are a couple enjoying weekend break and going to the theatre

This hotel is in a great location, right next to Holburn tube and the standard room I stayed in was big and the bathroom was particularly spacious. The downsides were the kitchen wasn't that well stocked - no glasses, kettle etc - and the lighting in the room was a bit dim, great for a romantic night away, not so great for a girls night out when you are trying to do your make up.

Great location

Very convenient location. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Noce room - good space for London, kitchen good and all vey clean.
A few niggles - the most significant was that the room was really cold and we could not persuade the system to warm it but we were offered an extra heater which arrived as promised and worked well.

Citadines has shed shabby appearance, moved upmarket

I stayed here many years ago on three-day visits to London. It was comfortable enough, convenient and cheap. Lacking alternatives at short notice, I came back for a three-night stay last week. I was impressed with the transformation. The uplift extends to all the public areas and the rooms. Staff remain friendly and helpful as ever, but administration and food are better presented, in line with higher expectations.

Family get together

This was a celebration of my parents' 40th wedding anniversary with them, myself and my sister all coming together for a fun weekend in the capital. I initially booked a one bedroom apartment to sleep 4 (2 on a sofa bed). I wanted an apartment rather than hotel rooms so we had space to be together as a family and keep bedrooms more private. I received an email to say we had been 'upgraded' to 2 x studio apartments, which would be next to each other. They weren't next to each other and with no living space to share we ended up 'hanging out' in a bedroom, not that special.
On the positive side, the accommodation was clean and the kitchenettes were well stocked with useful items. It was also remarkably quiet given the busyness of the surrounding roads. Sainsburys and Waitrose across the road, Pizza Express next door and Holburn tube 1 min walk. Free decent ish coffee and tea out of the machine in the central 'business corner'. Friendly and helpful staff and the location is terrific for West End, Oxford Street etc
Just a shame that we didn't get the type of accommodation we'd purposefully set out to secure. Didn't feel like an upgrade to be honest.

Amazing location good quality room.

Accomodation was everything you expect of a good quality London hotel but it had a kitchen too. The breakfast wasn't very good the pastries were a bit stale and the cheese was warm. I'd get breakfast from the coffee shop or supermarket across the road next time.

Great location and convenience

We had a very clean room with a kitchenette which was very useful. Our room was right next to the lift and we never heard any noise from either the lift or other guests so must be well soundproofed. The small kitchen are was such a bonus and if you are staying here and thinking of doing any sort of eating in there is a Waitrose and Sainsburys within a couple of minutes walk away and therefore very easy to sling something in the microwave! Bathroom was spotless and oodles of hot water. Able to walk to the theatre very easily from here. Would stay again without hesitation

Pleasantly surprised after foolishly reading some old, bad reviews.

Booked this room for a 3 night weekend break. What swung it for me was the additional kitchenette and brilliantly central location. After i'd booked I stupidly read some other, rather unfavourable reviews. However...as always in life, it's all about timing! I believe this place had a major refurbishment in 2011. All I can say is that my room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and the kitchenette was perfectly equipped for a short break. Hob, big fridge, teapot, pans, cutlery, crockery...even scissors and a bottle opener! We chose a room at the back of the hotel and it was lovely and quiet. Huge floor to ceiling window all along one wall made the room feel really light. Considering the hotel faces out onto High Holborn, which is a fairly busy main route, I wouldn't think the view out of the window would be that spectacular anyway. The staff were polite and friendly and I was more than happy with the price I paid (£99 per night).
I'd recommend for a reasonably priced weekend break if you want the flexibility of not having to eat out all the time. (there is a sainsburys and a waitrose within a 2 min walk of the hotel).

All good

Decent size room and bathroom, and adequate kitchen area, in a good location and friendly staff. Excellent for business users. To be picky, the room certainly could have done with better lighting (there was no light on the ceiling at all) which mean't that you had to have all other lights on (2 lamps, 2 bedside, 2 wall plus the kitchen) to have decent lighting. Also when room was made up, it would have been nice to have tea/coffee restocked. 2 teabags for 2 people & 2 nights is not huge amount, and when we went to try and get tea/coffee to make our own drinks on second morning, the suggestion was we buy their continental breakfast at 11gbp each: The most expensive teabag i have ever been offered! Some basic condiments (salt/pepper/oil) would have been useful as part of the kitchen, as most business visitors do not carry such things and it is hard to buy "small" portions in most city centre/convenience supermarkets

Mid Week Stat

The first room I was allocatted had a very bad smell (4th floor), so I had to request a room change, which was done without problem. Second room was on a different floor. Room was functional, tidy, small kitchenette - which I did not use accept to make a morning coffee. On first impression the double bed seemed a little soft - but it was actually very comfortable - though still a little smaller than ideal for a tall person. Room was warn enough and windows were able to stop most of external noise.
Bathroom was again well set out, good shower, free toileteries, etc.
The complimentary contintentalbreakfast was adequate - cereals, toast, juice, tea/coffee.
I only paid a heavily discounted rate I- so the room represented good Value For Money - but I would favour other hotels rather than pay the full rate shown.

Clean, good location excellent sound proofing.

We had a one bed apartment which was a good size with separate bathroom and toilet and a small well equipped kitchenette. The apartment was advertised as sleeping four people, there were only three of us but it still meant one had to sleep on the sofa bed in the lounge was extremely uncomfortable, you could feel the bars of the bed through the very thin mattress. I would only stay here again if we did not need to use the sofa bed.

4 Night Stay - Business

We were delighted with the quality of the room and the cleanliness of the accommodation. The bed was comfortable and the shower was good. The hotel was centrally located in Holborn (next to Tube)
and Covent Garden was easily accessable by tube or short walk. We had a problem with the TV and the room wasn't serviced one night but this has been addressed to our complete satisfaction. Customer Service excellent. We would definitely rebook next time we need to stay in London.

Good hotel, shame about extra charge however this was refunded at a later date

We were charged on top of what LateRooms had told us the total price was as the chap on reception would not believe us that the LateRooms total amount already included VAT. This was a bit annoying as we had to spend extra money we had not planned for and on a tight budget this was not ideal and meant we could not do some other stuff in London we had planned. I did contact LateRooms on our return and they contacted the hotel who realised their mistake and did refund the extra charge a week later. Room was nice and location was great however this situation ruined our stay a little as we could not do some stuff in London we had planned.

Nice hotel with the freedom of cooking for yourself

I stayed for 4 nights on a business trip as I wanted somewhere central and convenient, and the idea of having the facilities to make your own food really - especially breakfast - really appealed. I've gotten a bit sick of eating in boring corporate hotel restaurants! It was clean and modern, well decorated, and the staff were pleasant and friendly. All in all a very pleasant stay, and extremely convenient for both office and nightlife.

Excellent Location for using Public Transport and short walk to Covent Garden

This was our first experinece staying at an apartment - hotel and we highly recommended it. The studio room was spacious with modern facilities to prepare food, and the bathroom was also large. We felt this accomadation was much better value than a hotel room of a comparative price range.
Although our room faced the street the double glazed windows eliminated any traffic noise. We were also impressed that the TV volume had a control setting in place. At no time during our stay were we disturbed by noise from other guests.
