We were just looking for an overnight stay and didnt want a bog standard business hotel room so we were attracted by the quirky design of the rooms in this hotel and we were not disappointed.
However, the room is smaller than we anticipated and the choice of breakfast is rather limited. Otherwise it was a very pleasant stay.

Lovely hotel. Room was great and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast kept me going all day. Although a little outside tourist areas bus and tube easy to get to and frequent. Air conditionig fantastic on the hottest day/night of the year. I would highly recommend this hotel.

A lovely hotel with very friendly staff. The complimentary chocolates, bottled water and hot sauce was a nice touch and individually decorated rooms gave it real personality. Didn't use the honesty bar but was impressed by the idea. If you're looking to chill out for the night, they offer loads of DVDs for loan which is also useful if staying on your own.
Not many places to eat out in the evening around this area so we travelled further afield but I'm sure there'd be something if you wandered around more.

We visited the Torture Garden Party in Brixton and the Church Street Hotel is an ideal place to stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was a positive surprise, the little things like chocolate and the stuff in the bathroom made us smile and be happy. We enjoyed our stay and will come again in the future.

Very homely. Refreshingly relaxed atmosphere, particularly enjoyed use of lounge area
with 'honesty book' bar. (Good selection of spirits + beer bottles in fridge). Loved the decor
too, with lots of interesting ornaments/pictures with hispanic feel. If needing to go to this area
of London again, would definitely use this hotel.

Quarky hotel ,clean throughout, very friendly staff ,room small but adequate, shared batroom did'nt matter much as only stayed one night, many flights of stairs to reach attic in which our room was may be difficult for some to negotiate, breakfast room quite small not much room to move about when others are sitting for breakfast also it was very hot and stuffy and even though they had overhead fans they did not turn them on.Very difficult to get parking nearby.
Some nice restaurents nearby.Being so high up in the house wondered how we might escape in the event of fire??

The hotel has a great Spanish feel/theme. The staff are so helpful. Our room was very welcoming, the bed was so so comfortable. Continental breakfast was wonderful.
Overall a brilliant hotel, lovely staff, clean and very comfortable rooms, a real find!

Excellent hotel, cute and romantic, definitely to recommend, affordable and original. The hotel is situated a bit outside of the center, but has the advantage of being less 'touristy' and less mainstream, which is good. We were also very pleased with restaurants and pubs in the vicinity, although there aren't loads... Thank you

Well-kept, clean hotel; very friendly, helpful staff. Spanish decoration of corridors and rooms really nice. Breakfast only after 7h30 and a bit basic for four stars; fresh rolls after 8h15. Room has good size, although desk too small for working. Take-away chilli sauce leaks in your bag.

If your staying south of the river I really recommend this hotel. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful . Room were good, well decorated and very clean. Nice towels and toiletries.
Breakfast was a bit basic and service was very slow.
I would use this hotel again and recommend it, but here are my 3 tips.
1. if its hot make sure you get air conditioning. Having the window open in SE London on a saturday night means you wont get a good night sleep.
2. Some rooms are up about 6 flights of steps so if you are disabled, elderly or intend to get inebbriated ask for a room on a lower floor.
3. basic but good breakfast. waitress took ages- got to keep asking- I told them we were in a desperate rush and it worked.
A real change from boring run-of-the-mill hotels. Certainly good enough for business use as well as non-business, thanks to the free wi-fi and very quiet rooms. Very cheery design - the room felt like I was staying in someone's holiday villa.

unfortunately, the hotel is located at a very busy street with a pub and several other bars/restaurants in front. it is almost impossible to sleep in a room facing the street, noise level is incredibly loud. even though the windows can shut out the noise this means that you hardly get any fresh air during the night. besides that, the hotel is really lovely.

Really nice place to stay and felt very safe and cosy. Some really lovely touches such as a selection of books at the bedside made it all feel very personal. However, the hotel is much further from the Tube station than the travel instructions suggested and this could be off-putting for some people. Fantastic value for London though and I would stay again.

this hotel is a little gem. its a bit out the way and not within walking distance of the oval tube station. however, the hotel staff are very friendly and will sort a taxi for you. i used the taxi firm as arranged by the hotel twice and they were brilliant and didn't cost the earth to and from picadilly. my room was on the attic level and altho i had shared bathroom facilities it was all very clean. the breakfast is prob the best hotel breakfast i've EVER had. very good value for money and will defintely be staying there again.

This hotel may not be in the most fashionable part of town, but makes up for its location with a truly esoteric style. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the decor is something to behold...all Roman Catholic crosses and south american imagery. There are some really great touches too, such as the Lorca poetry in the rooms, and the complimentary Green & Blacks chocolate. If you want something out of the norm in South London then stay here!

i almost don't want to leave great feedback for this hotel, because i am selfish and i'd like to keep this hidden gem of a place to myself.
i'd rather people didn't get to know how good it is because i don't want them to put up their very reasonable prices.
anyway...the truth is, this is a super hotel and you get very good value for money.
if it was just a little closer into central london it would be fully booked forever...
it could benefit from some secure car parking...but that is the ONLY issue.
i will be returning, often.
I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a quiet stay in London. The rooms are very comfortable and very quiet. The only downside is that the en-suite shower rooms have no heating, so in the winter months are cold. Apart from this the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. There is nearby parking that is free at the weekends, which is a bonus!

The hotel was in a good location and it was lovely. The room we actually booked was a a double with a shared bathroom which seemed fine but when we got there, we were given an en-suite for the same cost. Breakfast was delicious although very leisurely. The bed was so comfortable. Really pleased to have found this gem in London.
