What a delightful hotel! I loved it - from the minute I walked in. It's quaint and ecclectic. Chaps on reception never failed to assist and were entertaining and kind. I booked in to support my mum through a big op at Kings College. Ideal location for this and a welcome home from home - very beatiful, but very comfortable. I love the fact it's all organic and free range etc, and the restaurant 'Angels and Gypsies' is absolutely top class. Warning though - you must book restaurant before your stay, as you won't get a sitting - it's so popular, I could not get an 8pm sitting!Came back to hotel two days later and stayed a further two nights - will always return. Only 'gripe' might be the room was small for a double. Beautifully decorated and has ambience, but small. Still I'd rather have small and plush than big and clumsy!

I often stay in hotels for work, and Church Street is among my favorites. I like the way it is different and colourful, it has got a homely atmosphere. The hotel has got a good-quality tapas restaurant, worth a try! The breakfast is nice with fresh juice and croissants, but you need to ask for tea/coffee and toast as they will not come to take your order.

We really enjoyed staying here, the perfect antidote to bland, chain hotels. The welcome was very warm, the beds and pillows were perfect, and the breakfast delicious.

Having originall booked a single night I extended my stay by an extra night, and was very pleased that I did. The welcome at the hotel was very friendly and helpful, and I was shown round the breakfast/bar area on arrival, including being trold about the complimentary coffee and teav available 24 hours per day, and the well stocked "Honesty" bar. The room was a litle compact for a double, however was very nicely decorated, with a wonderfully comfortable bed and pillows. Breakfast was really nice, with organice cereals, fruit juices, fresh yoghurts, eggs, toast, fresh pastries, croissants, organic jams and honey. I ate dinner in the The Tapas restaurant, and enjoyed an excellent meal. I look forward to returning if I am in the area again.

Great place to stay, the staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The hotel and room was fantastic, very pretty and quirky and we felt right at home instantly. Breakfast is tasty and healthy. Great places to drink, eat and listen to music nearby, just ask the staff they were happy to find out what was going on for you. I couldn’t recommend it anyone enough. 10 stars!!

The walk into central London is not particularly pleasant as the most direct route is along a very busy road. The hotel is located on a busy road and there is a lot of traffic noise. It has a South American theme and the staff are very helpful, friendly and laid back. There is a good bus service that can take you all over London just a few minutes walk from the hotel but the nearest tube is almost a mile away.

I have stayed at this hotel twice and on both the occasions, I purchased a residents parking permit from the hotel (£5 per day). They tell you to park in the residents zone L, which I did on both occcasions, on both occasions I got a £40 parking fine!!! It is quite confusing and difficult to find which zone L is the correct one. It is shame because the hotel is excellent and the customers service is also very good. Try the Tapas bar it is great - make sure you book ahead as it can be fully booked

Helpful staff, lovely comfortable room individually decorated and I particularly liked the "honesty" bar and unlimited filter coffee. They even upgraded us for free to ensuite. Highly reccomended.

So much better than your usual 'plastic' hotels. A little bit out of the way but a pleasant 40 minute walk to Tower Bridge. The breakfast was that much better than usual - everything fresh and good attention to detail. I even had a boiled egg !!

Note very few rooms have their own bathroom. When you account for the upgrade to have this, the price pushes it into the lower-medium range of hotel in London and Church Street doesn't quite match the competition. It is however clean, quirky and quiet. It has excellent coffee and aside from a slightly surly weekend breakfast service, fairly friendly.

Although the location was not ideal minute bus...
Although the location was not ideal (10 minute bus ride from the nearest tube station), the inside of the hotel was safe, and there was always someone there to let me in, so waiting on the street was not a problem. The staff were genuinely interested in why I was staying there and what they could do to help. They provided an iron and ironing board quickly upon request, and most importantly, had a wide selection of healthy items for breakfast (toast, croissants, pastries, different cereals, fruits, organic yoghurts, fresh non-concentrate juices, hard-boiled eggs, etc.) which were very helpful in starting off the day. Complimentary chocolates in the room were tasty, and the convenience of both the honour bar on the 2nd floor and the massive DVD selection (for free viewing) made it easy to fall asleep.Only minor complaints were that the room was a bit cramped and the shared shower/toilet facilities were not brightly-lit.

Really lovely little hotel, giving good value for money and somewhere a bit different to stay. Watch out for laterooms booking - it may seem like you are booking an ensuite room but check your confirmation as you may actually have booked a room with a shared bathroom.

Had a fantastic stay at this little gem of a hotel. (We were in London for a family Do and needed somewhere within striking distance of Dulwich.)Loved everything! Quiet, stylish, friendly and fun. And had to drag Himself out of the honour bar in the wee hours!Brilliant.
