Nice little place with friendly, helpful staff and clean, comfortable rooms.
SummaryOverall Rating
Nice little place with friendly, helpful staff and clean, comfortable rooms.
Summary
Little family business next door to the tube. Trains rattled past but not all night. The room was not plush but cleanliness was obviously a theme, although the corners of the shabby shower doors had evaded the furious scrubbing! The bed was comfy, the pillows fluffy and the sheets freshly laundered. A well worn but generally clean place to rest ones head and very cheap for London.
Summary
Room fine for an overnight stay, clean and everything you need. Service extremely helpful from a constantly manned reception - you don't have to hang around wondering when someone will appear, there's always help or information on hand. This place tries really hard and succeeds. On street parking all around until about 8 am. Loads of eating places around as well. I'll stay again.

Clean & affordable
Summary
Basic, small room in need of updating and a bit dusty in places. Sheets and towels were nice and clean though. Proprietors were friendly on arrival. Location was good for travelling to and from Hammersmith and hotel is conveniently located next to Turnham Green Tube station. There was a handy late night convenience store next door too! Breakfast consisted of toast or a croissant which had been microwaved and was therefore not very appetising. The coffee was cheap instant and barely drinkable. Breakfast was brought to our room on a tray but I'm not sure why they bother with this service. I would recommend skipping breakfast and finding a good coffee shop nearby instead! I slept well and was not disturbed by train noise although you can hear it. The noise coming from adjoining room through thin partition wall was however more disturbing but we won't go into that.....
Summary
Poor quality room- toilet ridiculously small, shower tray looked cracked and dirty,tv not working,no soap in dispenser, and a smell of indian curry constantly.Location was the best thing for us and the trains going past didn't cause a problem.

Awesome
Summary
On arrival it took a little time to work out youy needed to use the buzzer on the side door in an alleyway full of people smoking.
Once through the door I walked up teh stairs to the first fllor whwre finally someone came out then disappeard and reappeared 5 minutes later with a key card.
The room itself was basic to say the least, a bed side table with half the venneer missing, a shower cubicle in a tiny bathroom with a door that did not shut.
The coffee facilities included polystyrene cups?
Oh and someone had a telly on full volume at 1.30am, hence I packed and left at 2am.
If I had not paid in advance I woul have refused to pay.
We had no trouble finding the place, as it's practically on the Turnham Green station platform, and for £65 per night it's hard to complain too much about the size of the rooms or the train noise (which never bothered me in any case).
We had an early flight from Heathrow, and staying at the hotel halved our journey time from central London.
I used to live nearby (Kew Bridge) and like the area for various reasons, including the range of public transport options, including the overground ones from Gunnersbury and Kew Bridge.
The train noise was not that bad. They have three layers of glass on windows, so not much problem there.
The location makes up for any shortcomings. The train and bus stops are all right there. Easy access to Kew Gardens and downtown as well as other sites. The local restaurants and shops are GREAT! Really good food and services right on your doorstep. I recommend the buses as they give you a great view of places you might want to visit. The metro is fast, but you have no idea of what you missed.
The family running the hotel are not very comfortable with British/American culture, but they do their best and I am sure they take more abuse than they deserve. The truth is they do their best and are very polite. The room was always clean and organised!
If you just want a place to sleep well, watch a bit of t.v. news, a light breakfast, and the rest of the time visiting local sites, this place is perfect. Be sure to visit the local restaurants! Great breakfast at the nearest "French" place, and wonderful California cuisine just beyond. Not to mention all the local foods and shops within a couple of minutes walk. A very nice neighborhood, with lots of friendly people in a nice setting.
+ Very polite and helpful. The location is brilliant, 15 mins on the tube away from central London a very safe area that we loved walking around with lot's of restaurants and shops. The noise from the tube station was hardly noticable. We arrived at 10.30 in the evening which was not a problem, staff were very accommodating. Lot's of tea/coffee milk available in the room.
_ However, the room was on the top floor up five flights of stairs, the final flight being the attic stairs very steep ; not very good for my 73 year old mum, who had to stop several times on the way to our room. No lifts available so carrying luggage an issue as stairs also narrow. Breakfast was an issue; no phones in the room meant to order breakfast ( toast on white bread with jam, or cornflakes and a cup of tea/coffee) one of us had to get dressed, walk down all the stairs order the meal and return for the one person on duty to bring it up for us. Returning down ourselves with the tray on the way out. Eating in the room was an issue as there was only one bedside table ,9 no draws or wardrobe) so the tray had to be eaten from the beds. The lack of storage space could be a problem f you are staying more than a couple of days..... bring your own hangers too! The last thing; although clean the bathroom was the smallest in the world, sitting on the toilet your knees touched the shower and the shower , with very poor water pressure,...quite low in hight and tiny. To get in and out of the shower you had to go up the side of the toilet.
In short not suitable for elderly people or anyone other than the young who don't mind roughing it a bit! In short this is a B&B, if you want a hotel you need to spend more and book a known name.

Summary
Informed laterooms before our arrival that we would be there around 2pm, due to travel delays we arrived at 3pm, the room was not ready, there was no reception area to wait in either so we had to go out still carrying our bags for 15 minutes, when we did get to our room it was tiny, you couldnt close the bathroom door if you were sat on the toilet, there were damp patches all around the ceiling, the shower could not be adjusted for hight, although it was lovely and warm, but when we awoke the next morning we realised the water from the previous night was still sat at the bottom, the room had one window, which overlooked the tube platform, which meant it was very noisy until late and started up again early hours so the window had to stay shut to block out this noise to a degree but not completely. when a hotel says that breakfast is included i was expecting a breakfast, however what was on offer was a continental breakfast at best which was tea and toast, would rather have not had them bother, especially as this was to be eaten in the room due to no dining area available, wouldnt have been so bad if they had provided a table in the room to sit at but not enough room to turn around let lone swing a cat!!
Summary
Very dissappointed witht he service of the customer services. Will not recommend my anyone!
Summary
Get what you pay for, nothing special but nothing to complain about. The nearby tube station was a little noisy but didn't cause us any trouble and didn't wake us up.
Summary
Basic budget accomodation, generally clean but no room to swing a cat. Tubes rumbling by bedroom window til late at night and start up again at 6am!!
Summary
No complaints here - having read some of the reviews I wasn't expecting much but it was fine - clean room, not big but I wasn't expecting big. Couldn't be any closer to the station but I didn't find the noise obtrusive. Nice view across the green (my room was on the first floor, front of the building). Considering London prices I thought it was good value. Top marks for customer service, there was a mix up with my booking (I booked a twin but got a double) but I received a courteous phone call to explain just after I'd booked and they knocked a few quid off the price (un-asked for) when I checked in.
Summary
Continetal brekkie served on a tray to your room. tube 10m from room. basic accom expected more for 65gbp . more like 40gbp would be a price for the double room used
Summary
At first glance, we were worried as the tube station was on the doorstep but we rapidly adjusted to the station noises and had a good night's sleep. The hotel was clean and comfortable if basic, but just what we needed. The proximity of the tube station was very useful to access London.
Summary
We wanted somewhere close to Arts Educational College and this is just around the corner. The staff were extremely polite and the hotel itself is pleasant enough, with breakfast in your room. It is very close to the underground railway and there is double glazing.

Summary
In summary, a few cramped rooms over a shop on the High Street. My room (sold as a double) fractionally bigger than the bed.
Breakfast promised (had to be taken in your room), but no-one around to fill my order.
Would describve this as a mediocre B&B, and the image on the website does not refelct reality.
almost not worth what I paid.
Positives: Location was close to Underground, within walking distance of Hammersmith (although further than quoted) and Breakfast in the room at no extra charge.
Negatives: You could almost board a tube from your window (although the noise levels weren't too bad), there was no dinning room so you had to have breakfast on your bed and I'm not sure which "continent" the breakfast was meant to come from but the extent of the menu was white toast with jam for one, cornflakes and the worst coffee I've ever attempted to drink.
Summary: I would stay here again but only after checking the alternatives and I definitely wouldn't hang about for breakfast!
Disappointing
Summary
The service was ok nice enough guy,the room was small but had everything you require and it was clean. The bed was comfortable but did not have a quilt which i feel now a days is a must blankets went out with the ark. This is a hotel you would use for a one night stop over which would be good value for money in the city its a quick break stop over.
Summary
Right next to the tube, so trains wake you at 6am.
Peeling radiator
Clean sheets (but hairs on the bed)
OK shower
Bit musty...
£70 seems overpriced
Had to park over 600 yards away in residential street.
All stairs from the front door onwards. Two flights to the tiniest box room imaginable, containing double bed with no room to walk round the bed. En suite the size of a telephone kiosk.
We were expected to have our breakfast in the bedroom!
I refused to pay the asked amount and an agreement was made to pay less. Even then I felt cheated.
Good transport links, clean and tidy and good value for money.
On the downside there is a bit of noise from the trains and the beds are small.
Good points - fall out of hotel to District Line
Breakfast not bad but you eat on your bed (no where to sit
shower ok
clean towels
Bad points - Limbo passed the TV (sharp corners on shelf eye level
3 channels only !! spoilt for choice
bedside lamps = no pull strings
Scary picture above bed !!
Walk backwards into the toilet oh and you can see through the cracks in the
doors whilst you know what !! (no room to turn round)
Dont drop anything in shower - no room to bend down to pick it up !!
Trains buzzing passed every few minutes (good service- no sleep) !!
Stairs at least 2 flights to room
walls paper thin - can hear next door snoring and mmmmmm
So bad ......we were in hysterics - Fawlty Towers eat your heart out
A lovely little place to just get your head down. Very close to all local shops, handy for the tube. Excellent value for money. Clean and tidy. The staff wre polite and helpful. I would definitely consider going back, and if you want a no frills place to kip, this is it!
Summary
Very poor accommodation--no publc rooms--dingy and noisy.
Summary
Stayed 1 night, great lcoation. Clean room with lots and lots of stairs.
The breakfast was 2 pieces of cold toast and instant coffee but with the options in Chiswick for breakfast, its a very useful place to stay
The hotel is conveniently situated next to the underground, and the high street. The noise of the trains adds to the stay, but there is secondary glazing to block out the noise. The district line is convenient for trips to Kew Gardens, the Museums and Victoria train station. The rooms are small but offer everything you need for a comfortable stay, with private bathroom and fresh clean bedding. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and an excellent chines food takeaway across the road.
Summary
I stayed with my friend at the Chiswick Lodge for a small city break. We had a twin room (9) on the top floor of the building. The property is in a great location for the underground with Turnham Green literally outside of our bedroom window!.
I personally love background noise so the noise of trains wasn't a problem for me... but if you're a light sleeper, it might be a bit on the noisy side for you. It was particularly hot and sticky the days we stayed so having the window closed was not an option.
Although the staff didn't say very much, they were pleasant enough. The property is about 20 mins away from Central london with services running regularly. The room itself looked a little worn, some minor cleanliness issues (splash stains near the sink, scuff marks on the walls). But at £69 a night you can't grumble.
Breakfast isn't bad, I don't like cornflakes so I was only eligible for 1 croissant, a glass of juice and a hot drink. I would have preferred to have the option of 2 croissants, but again at £69 a night we were able to buy snacks elsewhere if breakfast didn't leave us satisfied.
One thing which did bug me during our 2 night stay was the shower, I'm sorry - but it was pathetic. It could be because we were top of the building so water pressure was minimal or I did think there was a leak on the shower head as water tended to trickle down the water tube. The space in the shower/toilet room is very very very minimal - it's a struggle to get into the shower without having the door to the toilet open and closing it just before you close the shower door.
If the owners sorted out the minor cleanliness issues and looked at a remedy for the shower pressure, this place would be perfect. I'd certainly come back again regardless. It's great for when you're doing London on a budget.
Clean comfortable and convenient. If you just want a good base to exlpore the city its ideal. If you are a light sleeper the trains might keep you awake but if you have had a busy day dont worry.
Summary
The room and ensuite was very small, on the 2nd floor at the same level as the local railway line. The rumbling of the trains is disturbing. There are no public rooms in the hotel, continental breakfast is requested at reception which is then delivered to your room. I went to reception at 0700 but could not find anyone to serve breakfast. parking is away from the hotel in a local street. There are plenty of places to eat locally.
SummaryRoom fine for an overnight stay, clean and everything you need. Service extremely helpful from a constantly manned reception - you don't have to hang around wondering when someone will appear, there's always help or information on hand. This place tries really hard and succeeds. On street parking all around until about 8 am. Loads of eating places around as well. I'll stay again.
