The Chamberlain was easy to locate, excellent friendly service. We could leave our luggage in storage (arrived early), to save us lugging it around with us. Within easy walking distance of Tower Bridge, Tower of London and St Kathrines Docks, which provided fabulous wining and dining with interesting views !

I really enjoyed staying in this hotel. I came with my girlfriend to find a romantic and cosy hotel in the centre of London and that was it!The situation is very good. Tower Hill underground is 5min by walk. There is a bus stop (bus 15) just in front of the hotel. The bus will bring you to the very centre of London. We had a room with a terrace on the last floor. Very calm, clean with all the amenities you can imagine. Very confortable bed. The bathroom was beautiful. For the breakfast it was ok. We have a continental buffet breakfast and we could order warm plates. My gf took pancakes the first morning which were too dry (I think they were prepared on advance). My scrambled eggs were just warm... On the 2 next morning, we both ordererd other warm plates and it was fine! The customer service was excellent, very helpful. There is a free WIFI which is really a plus.Definitely, I will come back to this hotel everytime I have to be in London.

I chose this hotel because of its location and at £160 for a room without breakfast ( extra £16.50 ) The first night was a weekend offer £110 to include breakfast. The problem was that I was asked to pay for our breakfast (£33) even though it was proven to be included. When I checked out £19.90 was added to my bill for breakfast when none had been taken. If you have to stay here, check everything. The restaurant staff in the breakfast room were miserable. The money we paid was for an upgraded room which was to include a plasma TV in the bathroom and bathrobes. We had to ask for the bathrobes and the TV in the bathroom didnt work. Dont waste your money on an upgrade, its not worth it. The normal TV picture was so grainy you couldnt see the picture. All in all, Dont Bother.

The hotel was very nice and had an old English style/feeling.Breakfast highly above the English normal bad breakfast! The corridor had a funny grandma smell, but this didn't really matter. Around 200 meters to either Tower Hill or Algate station. Nice and central and have only high thoughts of this hotel. All the personnel was very helpful and made us feel welcome.Only bad thing if that is a bad thing was that we couldn't figure out how the tv works because it kept changing the channels without us touching the remote...???

My only criticism is that when we asked them to call a cab they called a minicab. I feel they should call you a black cab unless you request otherwise as the minicabs do not have meters.

Decent sized room, tea and coffee making facilities, good quality bedding, robe and toiletries provided. Didn't try the restaurant, but food on room service was good and not ridiculously priced. Booked room only so don't know about breakfast. No complimentary water given which is a bit mean as fairly standard nowadays. One of those 'keep your finger on the button' hairdryers so take your own. Check in and out was quick with no queue. Conveniently placed for me as walking distance to my office, but not sure particulalry handy to anything for tourists. Would happily stay again.

Needed somewhere with easy access to transport and river for the O2. Just round the corned from Tower tube station and the Tower of London. Although on a main road we stayed on a Saturday so it was quiet and our room was at the back, which they upgraded, which was nice. Decor may be a little 'old fashioned' but the room was very clean had everything you could need, TV reception is poor due to location, but best stocked mini bar! The breakfast was continental buffet or fresh cooked to order, done very well and with very prompt service. Breakfast is included in the price Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings.

As a Fullers fan I'm really pleased to be able to recommend this hotel. The first time we stayed, there were one or two glitches, but this time these seem to have been dealt with. A good-sized, clean, quiet room at a remarkably good price for London, and within walking distance of our destination (the Barbican). The food is OK, the beer of course excellent. Breakfast service was on the slow side, and I can't recommend the coffee, but overall a good place to stay.

Since this was a short break to go to theatre and catch-up with family who live in the Est end of London the hotel was perfectly situated. The reception was helpful and efficient and the room was excellent. For London this was excellent value for money. The ability to have some food early in the evening to allow us to go to a late show in the Wst End was excellent. Need to note that the Bar is open to the public, so it will be busy from 5-8pm, escpcially on Friday night.Very happy with package and we will use this hotel again, the next time we wish to stay in London.

This hotel was the best I've stayed at - more expensive than my usual but well worth it - the staff were helpful and the location is excellent - only one thing-TV reception was awful-but maybe that's not their fault - but who goes to London to watch TV?

Hotel in good location and close to tube station. Staff pleasant. Clean, room just about big enough for two. Room service good - pleasant and prompt. Good value but only because I did not pay anything like the rates they advertise in reception. A couple of niggles - I asked for a wake-up call but did not get it (I was told when I mentioned this at checkout that the person who asked if I wanted one had forgotten to record my request!) also the shower (over the bath) did not empty fast enough so I ended up standing in water. I also thought the level of lighting in the room was very dim even with all possible lights on. But I would stay again.

Booked 2 nights and was upgraded to a balcony/terrace room on the top floor and also told breakfast was included which wasn't clear from our booking confirmation, so that was great. Room was of the expected quality (minus the old tv with a bad reception) but the terrace area really added to the space and in summer I can see this being a real bonus. Staff were very pleasant and courteous - although there was a bit of a communication mixup at breakfast when poached eggs turned into poached haddock! But no hard done and that aside, the buffet breakfast was good with plenty of choice and all was fresh. Had dinner there too and that was good quality for a reasonable price. Had a good stay here and didn't think the location was a problem at all, very close to Tower Bridge/Tower London and just 2 minutes walk from the nearest tube. Would happily stay here again.

Excellent hotel - very clean, large room with enormous bathroom! Stayed on 4th floor - could still slightly feel tubes going underneath but didn't bother us. Breakfast was until 11am on the saturday - great! Lovely full English. Also drank in the bar on the Friday evening - nice atmosphere although not very busy (about 10.3opm Friday night)Excellent value for money with the less than half price we paid on Laterooms.com!

The location is the main negative point of this hotel if you are there for the weekend as it really sits in the Business area of London - so for a weekend break restaurants roundabout are all closed. The Hotel restaurant/bar is fine. Also the work on upgrading the underground meant that the nearest undergrounds ( Tower Hill & Aldagate) were closed. However Aldagate East is really only about 7 minute walk and Aldagat eBus station is a couple of minutes away.Very handy for Liverpool rail station.

What a wonderful experience. We arrived to find our room was upgrade without us even asking. The receptionist was very helpful. The room was MORE THAN FANTASTIC! I think this was the only hotel in 24 years that I have ever taken photo's of the room to remember our wonderful experience.Breakfast was 5*. Service was prompt, food was without fault and plenty of choice. I am so sorry I only booked one night. I cannot wait to go back!

This hotel is in a great location if you have a meeting in the city. I found a good deal on late rooms so was good value for money - I wouldn't pay their quoted turn up prices! Only real downside was that the springs in my bed were coming through the mattress.

We were upgraded to a balcony suite on the 5th floor, which was nice, but it was never worth the £300/night asking price in the first place. At least we were high enought not to feel the underground trains passing. The Bed was ok as were all the extras, although the balcony had no view and was of little use to us. The TV signal was dire and the so called TV in the bathroom was the size of a letter box and did not work (Not that we were bothered really). The hotel is also in a the financial district, so nice and quiet at the weekend, although tube travel is essential, the Tower of London being the nearest touristy thing, 2 mins down the road. The food was ok (Think posh pub grub) , although don't bother with breakfast as it's costly and you could do better across the road. Overall, i would give the hotel 3/5, not bad, but would probably try aomwhere else next time.
