A very clean hotel in and excellent location, and the staff were very helpfull
Summary
Room was basic but clean, only snag was an ancient heating system, after turning on radiator made a terrible noise, however reception soon sent someone to resolve the problem.
Did not try breakfast (included) i found it very annoying that on a weekend, checkout is 11am (early) and breakfast finishes at 10:30 meaning I would have to get up and force feed myself when id prefer tohave a lie in on the weekend.
Staff very friendly and helpful £55 room rate was good value for a double room close to two tube stations.
Excellent room very clean complimentary /free wifi and cheap rate for a single double bed ensuite for £35/night very impressed.
v close to victoria and pimlico underground station

Summary
This was a very clean and pleasant hotel to stay in and the staff were really helpful and friendly and the value for money was superb!!!!
Summary
I paid £40 trough LateRooms and it's always a bit of a lottery at this level. However, I was pleasantly surprised - the room wasn't huge but had a comfortable double bed and the linen and towels were clean and well presented. The shower room had been carved out of the room in a slightly amateur fashion with the partition wall cutting across a window, but everything was clean and it all worked well. The only omission was a mirror over the sink, so shaving entailed a short, repeated, shuttle run to use the bedroom mirror. Breakfast was fine apart from revolting instant sachet-style coffee. Overall, recommended at this price and for this location.
Summary
The location of the hotel was excellent for our needs and the staff helpful. This and the price were what decided on us the hotel. Unfortunately the price meant there were some things lacking. The room was adequately clean but tatty. The shower was terrible as there was no water pressure. The room was down one flight oif stairs along a basement corridor and then up three flights of stairs - difficult to get your bags to. As the room was up at the top of the building we heard water running most of the night - presumably coming out of the tank everytime someone in the hotel used any water.
Summary
We stayed at Central House after going to the theatre one evening and were looking for a budget option near Victoria. Budget shouldn't be an excuse for poor standards however. Our room safe didn't work, nor did the telephone. They wouldn't move us to another room. The bathroom was filthy.
In a no frills hotel, I would expect only the most basic amenities and a clean room. This hotel offers neither.
Clean room, crisp white sheets, changed daily, clean white towels, nice and fluffy, pleasant and helpful staff, perfect central location, room wasn't large, but i will not grumble about that.large flat screen tv,very nice, tea and coffee tray in room, but no biscuits,i love my biccies with my morning coffee,
Summary
I was not impressed with the reception error or the state of the carpets leading to the room, they were dirty.
The room was okay but the bathroom was very poor state.
The breakfast was not of a good standard, the toast was sat on a plate cold and we could find anyone to make fresh toast, the whole set up was of a low standard.
I had a single en suite room on the lower floor. The room was spacious, cozy and comfortable and well laid out. It was also lovely and quiet which is unusual for central London. I would be very happy to stay here again as the staff were polite an the hotel very clean. The check in and out was super quick as I booked on line first and then paid when I arrived. The location is ideal as well if you have need to be around Victoria or Westminster.
Summary
Arrived at destination, provided with card key for room on third floor. One lift.......which when going to third floor suddenly stopped and dramatically dropped down to the basement. Eventually it stopped on correct floor. Key card would not open door to room, so went back to reception desk by foot as did not trust the lift. Man from reception desk came up to third floor and stated ' It sticks from time to time and you have to be rough when inserting card, it took about 6 attempts to open the door. The room was a fair size, but it was over powerly hot. There was poor storage and bad lighting , curtains at window did not meet.
En-suite bathroom was wasted space, could have had walk in shower cubicle opposite the door or storage or something!! For a 'refurbished' hotel it was very tired and worn...stained carpet in hallways, chipped paintwork and curtains that do not cover the whole of the window area.
Very nice accommodation, very clean and well decorated, nice welcome. Very good breakfast, continental, but more than we expected, croissants, toast, cereals, boiled eggs. as much as we wanted.
Summary
Very basic hotel room however if you just want to sleep somewhere this is ideal. Mould in bathroom and shower
Summary
Hotel was in an excellent location 10 minute from Victoria station. The rooms are clean and well presented. The only negative was the room in the basement had very thin walls and my neighbours were extremely noisy and kept me awake until the early hours.
Summary
Very poor value for money , we had friends with us from spain and it was embarassing . the bathrooms really need a total vamp. but we did have a quiet room.location was great.
Asked for a quiet room, got a basement room beside a noisey road, with windows that didn't shut properly, the room stank of sewage from the cupboard sized en suite and it was noisey all night. If that wasn't bad enough, the breakfast was awful too. Not a great stay.
Summary
Small, clean room - but the finish in the bathroom was rather tired. Nevertheless, it was cosy, quiet and the breakfast was well organised with a reasonable selection.
Summary
Located in the basement, the room was clean and tidy. However, it was a maze to get to. The toilet seat was broken and we ran out of shampoo and shower gel, which is provided. The room was fairly quiet, however you could hear the water running down the drains from the shower in the room above and the window was frosted so there was no view (could have been a good reason being in the basement).
Summary
The twin room was very small, but our stay was short (3 days), so it was adequate. It was very clean with fresh towels provided daily. Two minor requirements were dealt with promptly.
The slight draw-back having a front room, was traffic noise, but on the 'up' side, the hotel is on a main bus route and was extremely handy location for getting about. Plus it was very close to Victoria train/bus/tube station and local shops and resaurants.
The Continental breakfast was plentiful, and good quality, although the dining room was very small so self-service was a bit of a scramble with a short queue (on one day). But, all in all, good value for money for 'no frills' accommodation.
We booked a twin room for a girls nights in London and arrived checked in got to our room to find it had been changed to a double. We went back to reception & got told there had been reservations issues and they could not do anything except either reins us £30 or ring round to find a hotel of a similar standard. All other hotels were fully booked so we left to have a think about what to do and on our return they had managed to find us a twin room. Very disappointed with services as we wasted the first hour of our short stay sorting out the room. The room itself was very basic and the en-suite was not very good the shower dribbled water on your wad and soaked the whole area with poor ventilation. The breakfast was poor and I would definatley not pay for such a poor effort again. I
would not book to stay here again
Location was great. The 24 bus goes from outside the hotel to Trafalgar Square and is 24 hours. We went everywhere by bus and saw loads more of London than the sweaty old tube. Staff were helpful and smiley. Room was okay and not that cheap, but then we were in Central London. I kept expecting things to slide off the bathroom shelf when the boat keeled as it was so like a boat cabin shower room, but this would have been fine if the shower had worked. Shower was feeble at best and so bad on the last morning that reception had to find a different room for my son to use. No street noise at night but then we were up in the attics, other guests a bit noisy when calling for each other next morning, but that's not the hotel's fault.
Summary
We were given a room in the basement, the bathroom was nothing more than a cupboard with a shower curtain toilet and sink in it.we were woken up with the constant people getting off the bus right outside and then was woken at 5 am with men collecting rubbish and standing talking right outside our window, which was not double glazed.
Summary
Just stayed the one night but it was very well located just 5mins walk from Victoria and everything we needed in the room was there including a luggage room which meant we could explore london without having to lug our luggage with us - excellent value
It's Victoria, so it's going to be expensive. However I did expect more for my money.
The room on the picture looks huge and lovely but that's not what I got... (nor did a friend of mine staying in a different room)
A double room, but couldn't fit case past the end of the bed, nearside no room either - little more room the other side but had to lift case over bed to get it there - it just about fit... so yes if you can physcally fit a double bed in the room, its a double right? Well that's the space you've got - just in front of your desk...
It says you have a desk, which is one of the reasons I picked this hotel; and, in the picture looks a decent size - well it was about 90cm wide and about 50cm deep - not much of a desk! So it was easier to work on the bed for a couple of nights.
'Personal bathroom' - Would you really call a cupboard with a toilet, sink and a caravan shower in it, a bathroom? Not really.... Plus anyone larger than me (size 10) would struggle to get in it as the door doesn't open fully because the bed is in the way.
Very clean, desk is manned 95% of the time, dont really eat breakfast so the selection suited me fine.
Wasn't impressed, but not disgusting.
Nice smile on arrival, efficient and welcoming. Room was fine, loo was a little small. Very clean room, as was the whole hotel. Breakfast plentiful. Very good value for money. Only one small thing, we would have liked a room overlooking the road, we were down in the basement! Although, so saying we didn't ask about perhaps moving rooms. So there may well have been an alternative room at ground level, so it's not an actual complaint!
Summary
+ve: nice reception area; friendly/efficient staff on reception & housekeeping; nice, clean, colourful, comfortable room (TV + kettle/tea/coffee); convenient ensuite bathroom; pleasant, cold, buffet breakfast (cereal, toast, yoghurts, muffins, croissant, pastries, cheese etc); good location near Victoria & plenty of restaurants & convenience stores nearby; quiet room (mine had its own staircase to it!)
-ve: charge an extravagant £3 per day for room safe if you use it; common hall & stair carpets quite dirty; bathroom a bit dark (only one ceiling light, none over mirror) and washbasin very small and slow to drain and with no windows starting to show condensation damage; no drawers in room - just open cabinets & shelf in wardrobe but okay for light business travellers.
The room was very small but clean, everything you needed for one night. The reception were really helpful in allowing us to book in early. The breakfast was ok, nothing to rave about, very plain and simple.
Summary
Clean bedroom. Small poorly maintained shower room. More of a dribble than a shower. T.V only had 3 channels 2 of which were the same. Stayed 1 night, did the job. Wouldn.t pay more than £65.
Summary
It was a night mare
Summary
I stayed for two nights in this hotel, one of the rooms we had booked was very small, the other was quite spacious, both were basically comfortable and clean. We arrived late in the evening and were quite hungry, the night receptionist was very helpful and ensured that our needs were satisfied. All of the staff were courteous and polite, especially the night receptionist who was really really helpful.
Summary
This hotel was fantastic value for money, in a sophisticated grand location were staff were more than happy to help. I paid £34 for my room and it had a double and single bed to choose from. The bathroom was spacious with a bath and shower. I may have been lucky as it was a special offer in January, however I would definitely recommend and go back to this hotel.
Summary
I was very happy with the room, the cleanliness, quietness and the comfiness of the beds. The breakfast being included was an added bonus and have a good pastry to eat while on the way to work is quite a treat.
This is not a luxury hotel for a romantic getaway but is a well setup and thought out short stay hotel for business users.
The room was clean and excellent vaue for money with the hotel just a short walk from Victoria.
Summary
First the positives, I thought that the room and facilities were very good value and the location is excellent. the staff at the desk and elsewhere couteous and helpful. The bad points: I had no hot water for the whole of the 24 hours. The red cover on the bed had what I hoped was food on it and the curtain rail was detached from the wall. The breakfast was fine but there was a rush on when I tried to eat and it was impossible to sit down or reach the food stuff due to the cramped space of the canteen. Overall with a bit more care the hotel is good value and I would stay again.
Summary
The room was very small but we didn't expect much for £54 a night in London. Also we hadn't been warned that the hotel were renewing the boilers and there was no hot water until we asked why there was no water coming out of the hot tap and shower, otherwise we would have booked somewhere else. Breakfast was also a bit shambolic with not enough seating for everyone.
Summary
Considering this is a central London hotel, I was impressed at the price which was lower than most of the others in Pimlico.
The room was adequate - everything was clean and fit for purpose. Having stayed in Holiday Inns and Best Westerns many times over the past two years, there were a couple of things missing from the Central House Hotel experience which would have improved my stay. The TV in the room was an old fashioned portable, with 5 fuzzy terrestrial channels available. The bathroom was absolutely tiny, but in fairness this was also adequate for my purposes. Breakfast, again, was adequate and to the same level of quality as a Holiday Inn Express.
On the plus side, the reception and breakfast room service was polite and efficient. I was made to feel like a valued guest. Also, after many Holiday Inn nights, the Central House Hotel had a character to it, and by the end of my two night stay I had certainly warmed to the place.
I would stay there again, but I would first check to see if they have updated to Digital TV.
Did what it said on the can!
Summary
Good location and good price, bit of a walk to the room though and lots of stairs. Nice enough and friendly staff.
Summary
I stayed fo rone night but was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the room.
The place was clean, shower worked fine as did the T.V and kettle. There was a smell going downstairs to the breakfast area but nothing in te room itself. The food was a good, well presented continental buffet.
There is a nice Italian virtually next door and the Hotel is very close (2 mins) from Pimlico station and outside the 24 bus stop.
I would definitely stay there again if on business, maybe not for a romantic weekend to impress the missus:)
