Ideal location for Eurostar St. Pancras Station just two minutes walk away. Room a little dated but clean, plenty of hot water for shower and beds comfortable. A good breakfast, would stay again.

Booked in and was offered a room in newer part of hotel 4 doors up the road. receptionist saying it was quieter. Room was spotless and well presented.
And yes it was a lot quieter away from main road!!!!
Breakfast was very very good. Very good selection and all freshly cooked.

Good value for money only problem was that could not get hot water in shower.
But as in rush I did not report this

Strong smell of cigarette smoke. Very noisy due to traffic. But very convenient for Mings Cross station for same reason.

Arrived in hotel, decor was poor, got to our room, stinking waft hit you as you entered the room and later found someone had cooked noodles inside the kettle! The noodle were dry and a fur coat was growing half way up the inside of the kettle, so we know this had been there for some time, cleaner's not doing there job and the management haven't bothered to check on there staff. When we took the kettle to reception, we got strange look from the girl, almost as if she thought we had cooked the noodles. The replacement kettle was not much better.

Extremely disappointing - what was probably once a very grand building is now a very sad, run down and suffering from a total lack of interest being taken by the owners
The whole time there was building work going on. Someone had kicked a hole in the bathroom door, none of the cupboards/table were stable
The WiFi is free because nobody would want it, it hardly ever worked and when it did it kept failing. I chose the hotel specifically because it had WiFi as part of the package and I am now 5 days behind on my work
I do not want to even think about the food, served up with no style, tasteless, scrambled eggs swimming in liquid, fried eggs swimming in more fat than a Greasy Spoon cafe. The choice of cereal = Take it or leave it (cornflakes, I think thats what they were)
All in all the worse experience I have had in a hotel in my life

I paid £65 for overnight stay, which was fine - the room was clean and tidy though tiny, but size did not matter on this particular occasion as I arrived by last train after midnight and did not have a cheap option of tube to get out of Kings Cross area to more safe location. On a negative side (which has nothing to do with the hotel management and is solely the local police responsibility) druggies/prostitutes were all way around and that 2 minutes walk from Kings Cross station to the hotel' door was nothing like pleasant.

The staff were polite and friendly on arrival and made it clear where the room was situated.
On entry into the twin room we booked there was a single bed and a double bed. This was slightly puzzling as it made poor use of the space in our particular room.
We also struggled to find a wall socket, they were either behind the wardrobe or underneath the double bed. Also, they were all being used for one appliance or another.
The room itself was clean, the bedding was also fine. The ensuite bathroom was also perfectly clean.
It's hard to be critical, we were only there for a night. It appears as if the owners/staff at the hotel are aware that short stays are the case with most customers as it's situated directly opposite Kings X train station.

The room was quite comfortable. The furniture was OK but a trip to IKEA would not go amiss.

The room's where very standard. I booked a double and the bed was very small. The room was very small I would say really a single person room as not much room to swing a cat, but for a one night stop over not so bad. Tea and coffee making facilities very unhygienic, the tea bags where exposed to the air so had a yellow tinge to the bags so def would not use them. Wrong remote for TV in room. Room was tidy but what the eye could not see there was dust. Over all not bad but not great either

I stayed two nights at the hotel on business. The room was extremely clean, warm and spacious for a single room. It was excellent value for money and a perfect location in relation to Kings Cross station and my business appointments. Breakfast was simple and of a good quality. I will stay there again!

A clean functional no frills hotel.

Very welcoming front desk. Room tired looking, especially around shower. The smoke detector was covered with aluminium foil and this was not removed when we first brought it to the staff\'s attention. Bed was basic nut much more comfortable than it looked. Breakfast was excellent and the coffee was good.. Sound proofing was quite good so traffic noise was limited.

This was perfectly acceptable for a one-night stay, and given the cost relative to other hotels in this part of London, one could not expect much more. I stayed in the Hotel's adjunct building a few doors down from the main hotel, so can only comment on that. The room was small but quiet; the shower and tiny bathroom adequate, and the breakfast acceptable but unexciting. Impossible to be enthusiastic about this, but for an unpicky traveller this would be reasonable value for money.

Room in separate building and newly refurbished - clean and good value for money. A good room at a reasonable price. Hotel let down by awful breakfast (included in price); choice of one cereal, one juice and barely warm, indigestible, English Breakfast - tea and toast were good though.

Needed a place to stay over night for an early mornin train from kings cross. Hotel is within stones throw of the station. It was a clean and decent room although it did smell of smoke. That's probably my fault as I didn't specify non-smoking. Bed was good, sheets crispy clean (!!), bathroom very nice with tea, coffee and biscuit which I didn't expect in cheap hotel. Didn't get a chance to sample breakfast as I was up and out by 5.30.

A clean if somewhat spartan room and a good location (just across the road from kings Cross station but in a quiet street.) made this reasonable value for money. The breakfast was poor with orange squash instead of orange juice , poor coffee and all food pre-cooked and kept warm apart from toast which was freshly made. . A request for additional pillows somehow got translated as extra towels.

Not much nice to say about our stay apart from the close vicinity to the EuroStar, which is why we chose to stay here. Furniture falling apart, no bulbs in most of the lights, problems with hot water and very uncomfortable beds. To top it all off, the Manager and the lady in the kitchen had a huge row in full earshot of us eating our breakfast. This made things very uncomfortable. Also the breakfast looked and tasted like it had been in the warmer for way too long and was virtually inedible. Not a very pleasant stay at all.

Reception staff friendly and welcoming the room clean and bed comfortable but in need of rubbish bin in room toilet roll holder and bed light .The breakfast staff were the rudest I have met even plates removed while still eating and the lady with the gloves~~washing up? was exceedingly rude and bad tempered.

This hotel is not a 5* nor do they claim to. For the price the room is very clean and though across the street from busy Kings Cross train station is very quiet. You must be buzzed into the hotel and thus we felt very safe. I needed a bottle of water late in the evening and the receptionist offered to get it for me rather than having me go out in the cold alone. I would stay there again for another short stay in London. The breakfast was a typical English breakfast. I had expected cereal only but was happy to have a traditional fry-up.

Good hotel for the price, nice clean rooms good size, decent size ensuite, good breakfast and friendly staff, would recomend to friends and use it again

A big minuspoint is that the room was very, very tiny, I never saw such a tiny room, it was difficult to find space for the luggage and other things. The bathroom was also very tiny. Another big minuspoint: they placed a dirty towel in the bathroom on the second day! When I discovered it in the bathroom, I had to go outside on the street and in reception to get it replaced because there is no phone in the rooms, and the section I was in is laying in another part of the building than the reception, so the street is the only way of access to reception and breakfast. Not good either.... A big pluspoint is that it was brandnew, totally renovated from a-z, and just finished few weeks earlier. That was a nice piece of work with new floors, walls, furniture etc., nicely done. For a lower price it would be OK, but I think it is too high price for the tiny size of room. The service-level and friendliness of the staff was varying, some good some a little ignorant and careless.

Accommodation was adequate for an over-night stay as very near to St Pancras International Station, very clean room with Tea coffee making facilities etc, Bath towels small.
We were in the new annexe and breakfast was in the main building, the breakfast was poor, cooked but cold, toast cold also.

While the room was cleanish the bathroom did have long dark hairs on the floor and I am blond !. The room was absolutely terrible - I felt really unhappy there all night. The gentleman on reception could not have tried harder to help me but the quality and standards of the room were dreadful which was not his fault. Poorly finished, the most basic of furniture, tiny rooms, curtains as thin as paper towels hanging on the odd hook, noisy area with the tube rumbling under my bed all night, I didn't even want to have my breakfast there and left just to get away. I was worried about my car parked in the street overnight and all in all it was a horrible experience.

Reception staff very helpful and welcoming. The room was okay but the floor had clearly not been cleaned and the bedside light was not working. The window and blind proved very effective against traffic noise.
Breakfast was okay - but poor quality orange juice - no fresh fruit and only white toast seemes available - service wasn't the best - no welcome or explanation of what was on offer or attempt to check what was wanted. The cooked food was reasonable however.

I picked this hotel because of its fantastic location - across from King's Cross. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful but the rooms are very small and a bit noisy. The manager was thoughtful enough to move me to one of the newer rooms facing away from the busy road, but there were quite a few people making noise on the street throughout the night and you could still hear the traffic. Breakfast was basic but adequate with good service. Overall, a good budget hotel but would have liked a larger room with more amenities for £70/night.

Apart from the general noise of Kings Cross which is what you would expect for the location, the room was comfortable and clean and the staff were friendly enough.

As a hotel in an prime tourist area, I would have expected that customers having to leave early could be accommodated with an early continental breakfast, but this did not happen and no discount was offered. There was no hot water in the shower early in the morning.On the plus side, the proximity to St Pancras International is very convenient.

Vacations are for exploring the city. This hotel has so many subways nearby that it makes getting out and about very easy. And they serve a nice English breakfast in the morning (not fancy, but it is filling). The place is small and clean. Good value for a city as big as London.

The hotel is very close to Kings Cross Station, within 200 Mtrs. The room was very clean and tidy, The lounge was a bit basic, The breakfast was excellent, but best of all were the staff, It was raining quite hard during my stay and the porter gave me a brolly so that I could venture out without getting wet,
I will be staying at this hotel again

Considering we were in Central London and literally a stone's throw from the station, my daughter and I were extremely happy with our accommodation - breakfast was good, room was clean, sheets were spotless - it did what we wanted it to do and we would definitely stay again.

The room was small and somewhat basic but quite adequate, with comfortable single bed, ensuite shower, tea-making facilities, free wireless internet etc. Despite its situation it was fairly quiet (I was on the 4th floor) and the blind on the window also meant that it was quite dark (I often have trouble sleeping in hotel rooms with inadequate curtains at this time of year). The breakfast was pretty basic too but service was friendly and I felt that it was good value for the price.

Room was very small. I was asked when I checked in if I wanted a bigger room in a property a few doors up from the hotel for no extra cost. I accepted and I now wonder how small the room was that I gave up. I was in a building a few doors up which was not staffed and there was no phones so it felt a little unsafe. Breakfast was back at the main hotel and it was a small buffet which hardly had anything left. I asked if more food could be put out but when I eventually left none had been and I did not have time to wait. I agree with other reviews that this hotel is not for individual business travellers but would be Ok for tourists on a budget. You get what you pay for.

Okay but soulless and more expensive than comparable hotels in the area

The room, while being clean, was a very odd shape and extremely noisy, from traffic noise all night and also from the room above where the occupants didn't seem to go to sleep until after 4am. Not really the hotel's fault, but creaky beds and floor made this worse.

I found the hotel old fashioned but charming, Staff could have tried a bit harder to be pleasant, A smile goes a long way! Room was cleaned every day. Good hearty english breakfast, could eat as much as you want however the dining room appeared a bit grubby, maybe a makeover would make the place look cleaner. In my opinion It was expensive for what I got. But there again it is London.

The hotel is right next to king's cross, which is great and the room was nice and clean. breakfast was typical english - not soo exciting after the 3rd day... ;)

Though it is not a luxury hotel, I was very surprised by how clean and well kept the room was for the entire period I was there. The location is excellent - literally across the road from King's Cross. This is a hotel for people who want to see the city and be in the city! If you are a country mouse accustomed to the chirp of crickets stay away but if you want the excitment of the city and easy access to public transport and fast food this hotel is ideal!

Our room for three was ok, only the bathroom was tiny (really). it was clean and the tv worked. breakfast was typical english (bacon, toast, fried eggs, baked beans, sausages) - so not bearable for us for a whole week. i think that the waitress agreed with that because she didn't say anything as we started buying our own muesli and fruit and had that in the breakfast room. the lightbulb above the sink didn't work but was renewed after 2 days. the door of the shower was broken but not fixed. but clearly: whats really great about the hotel are the location and the price, so we didn't expect gourmet-food or a king-size-room. the room's great for a city trip of young people.
