Accomodation great. Food best avoided

I stay regularly, finding the location very convenient. The girls on the front desk are also friendly and helpful. My main gripe is the quality of the food. I ordered steak to my room, and it was tough as a pair of expensive leather shoes, and expensive, too.I wouldn't be so annoyed, except that the hotel object to residents ordering food delivery from outside. If the standard of the food improved, we wouldn't need to.

I stayed here as I was running the London marathon( which went in front of the hotel.) The reception staff told me there was no early breakfast on the Sunday and I would have to get room service. However the chef said that actually breakfast would start early at 6.30!! It was chance that I discovered that. The hotel's Italian restaurant was not great, so eat out at Carluccio's instead near Canary Wharf station. Also note that hotel customers have to pay to use the leisure facilities and hire a towel, which was not made clear. Whilst the room itself was comfortable you could hear the Dockland Light Railway trains until really late-I thought a helicopter was above us!! There is also no brochure in the room with hotel info on the restaurants, bars, facilities or even how to phone reception :-( You need to allow 15 mins to get the lift down if the hotel is busy.

Average

Cost of stay was under £100 and I think that was fair. The room was large but a little dated. The TV only worked on some channels. The car park was really cramped and expensive. The worst part of the stay though, was the cleaners banging on the door at 8am dispite the 11am checkout and then continuing to make noise adjacent to the room. Disappointing.

OK: Staff fine but whole process needs review

Booked with Laterooms so got a good deal, would not have been happy if paying full price. The room was OK the hotel was OK but the processes not god, they were unable to keep a tab going in the bar so had to mess about paying for each drink seperately,. the checkout took over 30 minutes because computer couldn't cope with printing an invoice; whilst this happened I witnessed other frustrated clients unable to charge parking to their room. Sad that the simple things in process and management have not been addressed. Nonetheless it was fine so will stay there again and be ready for irritations

Great vslue for money! Will definitely return!

The hotel room was spacious and of great quality. The bathroom was lovely with a luxury spa-type bath. There was a health club, small for the size of the hotel but clean and accessible and most of all pleasurable. The restaurant has a water view.

Nice Hotel

Nice hotel, rubbish view of street below, block of flats to the left. Room quite small, and it was freezing the heating wouldn't rise above 18 degrees, had to call reception to bring a heater to the room. Got a call in the evening around 9pm to say that I had to come to reception to pay the balance, when they told me at check in that I could settle the bill at checkout, which was inconvenient as I was in bed. Disappointed at having to go down for breakfast in the morning as we wanted to have it in our room. Room was quite comfortable however, and the jacuzzi was great.

We would have loved to visit the social areas, swimming pool and gymnasium but time prevented us from doing so, Maybe another time.

Great value for money and excellent locaton

I booked this for four of us as we were in London to see a show in Picadilly, I was very pleased with the value for money, (£79 per room inc breakfast) thought the rooms were adequate for an over night stay. Views from 9th floor were great.

Check was great but then it went rapidly down hill from here....

Our room was suppose to be a twin but there was one bed with two small mattresses placed on it. The bath tub was full of hair (not ours) The toilet had not been cleaned. View from room was of road and building work. Thought hotel stay would have been spectacular but would rate a travel lodge stay far more superior than here. Sorry but would not recommend or stay again in the future.

Absolutely great hotel, looks alot better inside than out so don't be put off. Very close to the underground so easy access to everything. Surroundings of the hotel are really nice and we had a lovely view of the river. The hotel was generally clean and tidy, customer service was okay however this was probably because there were trainees at reception who obviously didn't know the information on hand. Didn't like the extra charge if we wanted to pay by card, as I don't carry huge amount of cash with me just to pay for the hotel. Would stay here again really good value for money.

I booked a single room and was upgraded to a spacious triple room with view over the water. This was much appreciated and excellent value. The room was well furnished and quiet with everything I needed. The breakfast was very good and half price if booked in advance. I'm planning to stay there again on my next London trip.

Quality in the Heart of London

Both my partner and I enjoyed our stay at the Brittannia Hotel.
From the outset we were greeted in a very friendly and helpful manner. This continued throughout our stay at the hotel.
The room was a very good size and very clean if a bit dated.
The hotel is an excellent choice if going to the O2 like we did.
Bear in mind the nearest station is Canary Wharf and not South Quay as per their web page

Real value for money with lovely views but very thin walls!

The hotel staff were really nice, as soon as we checked in they upgraded us to an executive suite which was a pleasant surprise. As such not sure if the room really reflected the price band we paid but the service was great. The views from our room over looked the river and the skyscrapers and the O2 dome were in full view. The room was clean and a decent size and the bathroom was also a very good size. The aspects that let this room down and possibly would make us reconsider staying here again, were the paper thin walls, at night everything was audible which was frustrating to say the least. The room service was although fine, the quality of food was not the best. All in all however we had a pleasant stay.
