To find a room in central London for 65:00 is pretty good going. Accommodation is really Guest House/B&B standard. No lift, I was on 3rd floor with c.70 stairs to access room. Room was small, reasonably clean and well-appointed, but I have been in better B&Bs. Breakfast was OK, but nofruit/cereal, just small cooked and toast. In essence, it was fine for one night, much more and it woudn't be my choice, but then again price was quite good.

The location of the hotel is quite convenient, yet everything else is just terrible. For money paid I am ready not to complain with shabby furniture and a tiny bathroom with broken mix taps, but mice traps in each coner were stunned. Still the worst thing was floor. It squeaked, and as there was not any soundprofing, the whole night we had to hear each steps of our neighbours. I can recommend the hotel only blocks who sleep really deeply; other should avoid it until repairment

The staff were very friendly & helpful. The room was very dated and the carpets very, very dirty with stains. Bed linen was clean. Considering the price, it was bearable for one night stay.

Stayed at this Hotel because no other Hotel was available at last minute near Euston. The Hotel self classifies itself as a 2 star and this is probably overated! Room was horrible, wallpaper hanging off the wall, tiles lifted up/missing on bathroom floor, paper stuffed into shelf above sink to hold it up etc, etc, didn't risk breakfast as the lack of cleanliness put me off!

A bit of a mixture really. The room was small but adequate (original price quoted of £300 per night was very optimistic! But for £77 through laterooms it was ok) beds were comfortable and clean. Glad of the fan because it was very warm, but it would have been lethal if I had a child with me. Had to ask for tv remote. No extra pillows. Furniture was old. Bathroom only slightly larger than wardrobe, cracked tiles and basin, heavily limescaled toilet, water did not drain away from shower or basin until you flushed toilet! Milly the millipede put in a few appearances. Plenty of hot water and good pressure in shower. 4th floor, no lift, no offer of help with bags. Reasonable English breakfast but don't go for the continental - just a large bowl of bran flakes. Good location.

A year ago I left a review in which I said I would stay in this hotel again...and I did! The thing about London is, even the worst hovel will still charge £100 a night; 'cause it's London! The Bickenhall is nothing special but it is very fit for purpose. The rooms and a decent size although the en-suites are very small. Everything works and it is clean. This year we made it to breakfast and, I am pleased to be able to report, it was very nice indeed! For the money, I would say that the Bickenhall is excellent. Don't book it for a luxury break; don't book it for a romantic get away; don't book it if you want to pay rock bottom prices but expect top quality. If, like me, you are looking for a decent hotel at a good rate as a base from which you can explore London then the Bickenhall is just what you need. I recommend it.

A Quad room in London was a great find for we four sisters to 'catch up' with family news and also to enjoy a show or two. The Bickenhall was very convenient for Baker Street Tube Station which provided a quick step on the Bakerloo Line into the heart of the City. The Quad was clean , although showing signs of wear e.g. there was a hole in one of the duvets and one of the curtains was hanging loose. The handrail of the shower was broken - we temporarily fixed it. Disappointing to have to ask for Tbags, milk etc. and there was only bar soap available. However, full English Breakfast was consistently well cooked. 'Best deal' value@ £22pppn was reflective of overall quality.

Bickenhall Hotel is possible the grottiest hotel that I have ever stayed in in Central London. Even at £73 for the night, this took the biscuit. The carpets and walls got worse as I walked up the stairs leaving me in no doubt as I entered my 'double room' (I use the term loosely as their was a double bed in there, but I'm sure it qualified as a single room) that the general bad condition of the rest of the hotel would be replicated. I'd often wondered why hotel accommodation was sometimes referred to as Board. Now I know. The bed was as hard as a board. In fact I think they forgot to put the mattress on. To get into the shower room, you needed to open the door into the bedroom - except the bed was in the way and you needed to be a contortionist to squeeze in. I elected not to have a drink of water just in case I needed a quick visit to the toilet during the night. Instead, I threw back a sleeping pill and was ignorant to my surroundings within minutes!
