Location in London is important and Cromwell is located just 2 minutes from Gloucester road Tube station. The hotel room was nice and very clean. There was a good flat screen TV.Biggest problem was a noise that seemed to come from water pipes. When other guests used water in their bathroom this irritating noise was created. Sounded like a turbine. I slept with earplugs since it irritated me.Still I found this hotel great for the money. I would stay here again but probably try another room. We anly had breakfat

Very impressed with this place. Only cost me £75 a night (though doesn't seem any chance of getting that now!). Hotel was less than a minutes walk from Gloucester Road station, and there's lots places to eat and drink around there. Hotel staff were pleasant and efficient, room was clean and safe. Tiny quibble, the bar is in the reception area and after 23:00 you have to take your drink to your room, but other than that couldn't fault the place, shame it's getting a little too expensive for me to stay there.

We stayed for three nights . Staff were pleasant and polite and helpful. The hotel location was brilliant, two nearby tube stations and museums and Royal Albert Hall 10 minutes away(also restaurants and supermarket over the road) The room and bathroom were spotless. There wasn't much clothes space but thats the only downside. The room was obviously on the small side as we booked the compact double, but you could walk around the bed :)Would definately recommend this hotel to any one ,already have! Booking on late rooms gave us a much better price too.We can't comment on the food as we didn't eat there.

Pleasant & comfortable room; lush shower. (Toilet paper surprisingly school-like in poor quality!) Only grumble - no bedding left for pull-out sofa - had to re-arrange furniture & ask for bedding at 11pm, even though booked for extra child.Great location for easy access to West End, only 10 minutes from hotel to Apollo by tube, & 5 minute walk to museums.Would have been gutted to pay normal room rate, but felt fair value for money on Late Rooms.

Was very pleased with the close proximity of both the tube and the bus which made getting around London easy and cheap. Also a bonus that the Big Bus tour company has a stop at Gloucester Rd. Lovely area to stay and very kid friendly. Has a great patisserie called Paul's around the corner which opens at 7am so I would skip the hotel breakfast, save some money and get fantastic food.

For my purpose the location of this hotel was ideal. The room I had was very small. Due to steps to both bathroom and bedroom it is not suitable for elderly people ( no problem for myself!). The safety box was locked and could not be opened. Action please! The lamp in the shower cabinet fell down ( luckily I was not in the shower at that time). Repair with apologies done promptly. All in all ok!

Tiny room, but very well designed for the space, with great furnishings. Very good location, I will definatley be staying here again. Very cosy and most of the staff were very friendly. I wouldn't want to pay more than what i paid on the Late rooms price though. All in all a very pleasant stay.

Our room was in the basement so not much natural light, but it was clean and tidy. Breakfast was £12 a head so we opted out, plenty of places close by offering better value. The walls were not sound proof and on our last night the people in the next room were having a party at 2am and we could here everything. I rang reception and they dealt with the issue straight away.

We booked two twin rooms and right from the booking they couln't do enough to please us. The rooms were a bit small but had everything we needed. The decor was lovely and the bathroom of an excellent standard. We stayed for 3 nights and couln't find fault, would highly recommend. The location is also fantastic as its almost opposite Gloucester Raod Tube and close to Patisseries, pubs and a Waitrose & Tesco Express. great value for money.

Small rooms recently re-furbished clean and tidy and...
Small rooms, recently re-furbished, clean and tidy and tastefully funished and decorated. Nice bathroom also somewhat small. It could well be that the room would be too hot in the summeras it was hot at the beginning of October even with the airconditioning on all the time. Probably Health and Safety were responsible for the fact that the windows only open about 5 inches. If you leave the window open, you cannot close the internal glazing and therefore you get traffic noise. There was a leak from the bathroom above into our bathroom, so we were moved to a garden room (better quality) had a decking terrace which would be lovely in the summer and because it was at the back of the hotel lovely and quiet. The room was much larger but no better furnished than the cheaper room although there were two extra chairs. The main problem was that the french doors to the terrace gave plenty of air but questionable whether it was safe to leave them open during the night. There was no other window to open so it was the doors or nothing. The location excellent, 100 yards to Gloucester Road tube, opposite a Waitrose and a Boots, coffee shops and chain restaurants as well as a couple of independent Italian restaurants. Walking distance to Kensington High Street, and the museums. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

Overall this hotel is in a good location...
Overall this hotel is in a good location and the staff were extremely friendly. Our room had a small balcony which was essential as unfortunatley the room was extremely small. I was visiting London for a pretigious occassion and my mother and I shared a double room. Considering the room was for two people it was very difficult to get ready at the same time and there was no room to put any of our luggage - one bag and one suitcase. The wardrobe was so small that the hangers could not hang sideways properly as they were too wide!! We complained to the manager who offered us an alternative room in the basement but the only reason we could use the wardrobe was because it had no door and the hangers could hang out the side! The staff were very helpful and on our departure day they secured our bags all day so that we could sightsee. This hotel may be sufficient for single business people with no luggage but in my opinion completely unsuitable for couples and families.

Kitchen vent was outside my window which meant that the room filled with cooking smells from about 5:30am. When checking out I was asked if my room was ok, I mentioned the smells only to be greeted with a shrug of shoulders. Not a cheap hotel, but new and a handy location. Avoid room 106!
