Friendly staff, good food, disorganised at first and room was not serviced on one occasion

Our luggage was sent to the wrong hotel at first. The company use two hotels in the same area and there was some confusion about where we were staying. This was resolved quickly though, and we were offered complimentary breakfast to compensate. Breakfast was good quality, although I would not say that it was worth the £11pp that the hotel charge. Shower head was leaking in the bathroom but otherwise the room was comfortable and had all of the facilities expected. The room was not serviced on the 2nd day of the stay, but was cleaned and stocked thoroughly after that. Staff were all polite and friendly and the hotel is very well placed in relation to the railway station and local buses.

A good base for exploring but the room is tiny!!!!

The staff were polite. The hotel and the room was clean and seemed well organised in the housekeeping department (special well done to you guys). The room had all the usual mod cons inc tea/coffee/biscuits, toiletries, hair drier, iron and ironing board etc BUT the room was so smallI could bearly open the wardrobe! We had little space to put our cases (good job they were small) because when you folded out the case stand you couldn't get into bed on that side! No chair in the room, no room for a chair. It was also extremely hot in the hotel generally but luckily we had a window that opened. This was fine as the area is very quiet and we slept well. The location is excellent as a base but if I stayed again I would see if I could get a larger room as it really was miniscule and hubby has the bruises (courtsey of the case stand) to prove it.

Clean and tidy but very small room - value OK for central London

Arrival started badly when they did not have the Laterooms booking and we were already running late for evening out. They were polite about it but when room found it was the smallest double room I have stayed in, and bathroom definitely too small to swing a cat in - anyone with a weight problem would not have got in and out of the shower. Having said that it was OK for a night's stay in central London, close to Hyde Park - beautiful in the morning - and breakfast was fine.

Quick stay

My fiance and I stayed 2 nights for the Kings of Leon gig at Hyde Park. The room was just what we needed for the time we were in it although it was rather small.
We were apparently upgraded to a suite but to be honest I couldn't tell you what the difference was to a normal room. We were advised we would get a free bottle of wine because it was my fiance's birthday, we are still waiting for it.
The only thing I would say was that I thought it was a bit pricey for what it was but it is London so we kind of expected that. Could do with signs to tell you how to get back to the reception/lift from the room. It was a maze! Very handy location for Hyde Park though - Spot on Thanks! :)

We stayed at this hotel as we were attending a concert at the Albert Hall. We had a club room. The room was as advertised except it did not have a fridge. We returned to the Hotel at 11.00pm after the concert and would have liked a drink. The hotel bar was shut.

1. The room does not have wireless. One has to "plug in" at the desk to use the internet (fortunately, free).
2. The double room is small, when one of us is at the desk accessing emails, there's no more walking space. Suggestion: provide wireless so that one can work sitting on the bed OR provide a bigger room, so that one can work at the desk with walking space for the other partner to reach the other side of the room.
3. The shower tray is small and the drainage slow. One has to worry about the shower tray overflowing while taking a shower.

Never Again

I booked this accommodation as I needed to pay with the company credit card, it was a Sunday and could only give card details on the Monday, I was informed by the front desk that if I did not pay the whole amount with my personal credit cards that I should leave!!! Not happy!! Then the room was on the second floor, thought that was simple, WRONG again, to get there I needed to walk up the stairs to the first floor, through a small doorway, down, 6 stairs, then into another section, along a corridor, up another 2 flights of stairs, NO lift to this section, NO help with suitcase, Never Again!!!

Small but sufficient

I was visiting London to see my son. I needed a central hotel close to Paddington. My room at the Best Western was tiny but surprisingly contained everything I needed for an overnight, comfortable stay.
However, getting in and out of the shower was a tight squeeze. I am 5foot 3inches tall and weigh about 9 stone. I'm writing specific details so you can appreciate for yourself how small the bathroom was.

Decent Stay (for £99 per night) Although Would Look At Other Hotels In Future

Room: I paid £99 per night for the Club Room and in London that seemed like a good deal. I was disappointed though, as I was expecting more from a 4* hotel. From the hotel description the Club upgrade gave you amongst other things, a bottle of wine in the room. This was a single glass sized bottle. Very poor consindering the room was booked for two people!
The other main problem was that the lighting. My girlfriend said that the room lighting was extremely difficult to do make-up in. The lights around the bathroom mirror were extremely bright while the room lighting couldn't be made bright enough.
Also, if you have mobility issues this would not be the hotel for you (or at least not room 142). We had five sets of stairs to navigate (up and down) to get to the room from reception. It didn't bother us but could prove awkward for others.
Location: Only a few blocks from Paddington underground so was easy to gain access to the tube.
Check In: We did have a few minor issues with the room when we arrived but they were sorted with the exception of the shaver plug not charging the toothbrush power. The staff member did advise he would look into it but we did not have it fixed during our two day stay.
I also asked about a room with an ensuite bath and the hotel staff were helpful and did advise that they could facilitate a move although it would have been to a smaller room.
Food: The breakfast was enjoyable and the dining area was bright and inviting.
Summary: For £99 for a Club Room I was disappointed. I expected a hotel with a rack rate of £500+ a night to have a real wow factor, it unfortunatley didn't. If may stay at the hotel again if I could get a good deal for a double room but wouldn't pay the extra for the Club. The extra cost is not reflected in the benefits you receive.

I was given a room in the lower ground floor but soon realised that there was no coverge for mobile. I called the receptionist and asked for a romm on the upper floors. immediately they found a room on the first floor which was the same as the other one but with mobile coverage. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the bathroom clean, the shower was amazing. It was quitet , too.The breakfast was very good, lots of fresh fruit, fresh pastries, big choice of continental and English breakfast. Staff very helpful. I would recommend this hotel and i think I will use it again for my short stays in London

A very cold and noisy stay

The room was to a reasonable standard. We were put in one of the suites opposite the main Hotel entrance. Unfortunately, the heating didn't work and the fan to the heater would not switch off and was very noisy. This meant we hardly got any sleep which was extremely annoying as I had an early meeting to attend the following morning. It was as though we were in a very cold noisy fridge. Not good!

Moved

I arrived at the hotel and eventually was told that they had a problem (maintainence, unspecified) and I would have to be moved. As I had specifically picked the hotel for its location, I wasn't pleased and even less so as I was short of time before my evening meeting and any move would further reduce this. I was not told where I was moving to but it apparantly was a sister hotel, 5 minutes away. There seemed to be no other option. After a short conversation on the phone were I heard my name mentioned, they found me a taxi, the driver was given an address (but not a hotel name) and he had to stop on the way to find it in the A to Z. It was an unlclassified hotel, not a sister hotel in any way, with none of the amenities of the one I had left (and no breakfast), in what I later was told was a rather 'dodgy' area. I had to pay at the hotel I arrived at. It was adequate, but not what I had booked and I would never book with this hotel again. If hotels have to move people, the last group they should move are lone female travellers. I'm big enough to look after myself and know london well. Others may have been rather intimidated by circumstances

All I wanted was a chicken panini.....

A bad start when I got lost trying to find the hotel (tip, don't type the postcode into google maps or sat nav, it will take to a dark side street/alleyway - not what you want at 9pm when on your own...) I decided to call the hotel for directions only to get cut off the first time, then hung up on the second (although to be fair when I did eventually find it there was somebody from the hotel stood outside looking, so maybe they were looking out for me?)
Checked in and despite emailing card authorization details earlier that day as I did not have the card with my that the payment was being taken from, they denied receipt of the payment or email. Luckily I had the form with me so they authorized the payment. I was then taken to my room which was in the basement. I had booked a single room and although I expected it to be small, I didn't expected it to be quite as small. Possibly about a foot between the edge of the bed and the wall, with a bathroom that I imagine a large person would have major problems even getting into. As I was traveling alone and tried from my trip from Manchester, I didn't fancy eating in a restaurant on my own so decided to order room service. There was no menu to be found so called the number in the room info and somebody brought me one to my room telling me to call back with my order. 5 minutes later I tried to call to order but the phone rang out. I let it ring for around 5 minutes before trying again, letting it ring for a further 5. Still no luck so tried to call reception to see if they could put my through to someone, so on hold again for a further 5 minutes and still no response. Hungry and tired, I decided to put my shoes back on (to very sore feet! )and walk to the lounge bar to try and order. Surprise surprise there was nobody there. Walked to reception which was busy, queued again, only to be told that they must be busy this evening and if I waited somebody would eventually come. After almost 25 minutes of just trying to place a order I decided that the added delay of the food, which I dreaded to think, wasn't worth it. My only option was to leave the hotel and wonder round Paddington trying to find something to eat. My night ended with a MacDonalds out of pretty much desperation!
Overall I wasn't impressed at the service and the confused looking nature of all the staff whenever I asked a question. I think I have been previously very lucky, this is the only time for a long time that I have received bad service in a hotel. especially when it actually leads to putting me in a bad mood!
So tiny, depressing room, slow service, and no food to be found. However nobody was actually deliberately rude, the room was clean and the shower powerful (always a essential!) but for £100 for a single room, I would not stay again.

Communicaton

Despite having booked breakfast when I signed in I was still presented with a bill the following morning. There is either a weakness in communication or a training issue here. It was quickly resolved when, after acompanying the waitress to reception, the receptionist found it correctly recorded on the computer. Why would there be a decrepancy between the computer and the printed record held by the breakfast staff?
Please note that some accommodation is in a building on the opposite side of the road. Maybe an issue in wet weather or for the elderly. My room was small but was at least clean and the bed was comfortable. I would recommend this hotel for an overnight stay but not for anything longer.

Specifically booked this hotel for location purposes, as I had an early start the following morning from a station close by, when I arrived at the hotel, I was told it was fully booked and that I had been re-booked into a hotel that was a fair way from the station I needed the next day. I had pre-booked breakfast , but I had to forego this as I needed the extra time to get to the station.

Terrible

When booking this hotel one thinks he/she is booking a four-star Best Western hotel. Then, upon arrival, one is asked to pay the full amount before seeing the room (we stayed 3 nights) and then he/she is scouted to the Paddington Court hotel in front, which has ridiculously small rooms which would not sell for 60£ per night (barely a couple of feet of room surrounding a tiny almost-queen-size bed, nowhere to put one\'s luggage, poor conditions). Don\'t fall for this, book some other hotel.

As usual the photographs tend to imply a larger space than is actually there. This room was micro sized with very little elbow room. The 8'' window by the bed let in a terrible draft which could not seem to be counteracted with the heater between the bed. The room was initially priced at roughly £300.00, but was reduced to £74.00 and even still it felt over priced. The room was comically small, however it was clean, with beautiful furnishings. If you're travelling light, and need a place to crash after a night out this is the place, but if you need room to spread out, or work you'd be better served elsewhere.

Extremely Poor

I deliverately booked a double room safeguarding the possibility that a single room would be rather small. It was good that I did! The "double" room had only a three quarters bed, the ironing board could not be used as there was no room to erect.
The Lift was out of action and I was on the third floor. The air-conditioning did not work and once it was fixed by mainenance, could not to either adjusted nor turned off again. The TV would also not go back to standby and I had to turn off the volumn so that I could get to sleep.
How can Laterooms tell me that by accepting this wonderful "special deal" through them, I would be saving £310???? Impossible. The room and experience was never worth £79 that I was charged. Will not be repeating this experience again.
