Was just a one night stay for business and arrived late to the hotel. Howver, desk staff were not friendly or welcoming but this seems to be a trait with most London hotels.
Room was small but adequate and quiet enough except for the aircon.
Handy location and for the price I couldn't complain.

Nice pub across the road for an end of night drink. If they could throw in a free breakfast with the room that would make it perfect though for the price I paid im not complaining! Excellent!

I was mainly out working during my 2 day stay so didn't spend much time at the hotel and didn't eat there. It is very centrally located, behind Next on Oxford Street, and is ideal for someone working in the Marble Arch / Mayfair area. The rooms are small and basic but clean, and the TV doesn't pick up many channels, but apart from that the service and experience was fine, and for that area of London, great value for money.

Very efficient, friendly, courteous staff at hotel reception and in restaurant. Quiet, clean, well appointed room. Bathroom a bit small but served the purpose although we had some difficulty maintaining hot water for showers. Hotel 1 minute from Oxford Street shops ( Marble Arch end). 10 mins from US Embassy for Visa applicant. 5 mins from Marble arch underground station giving easy access to theatre district for show.

Stayed here with my daughter for a shopping trip and as it was about 100 yards from Oxford St. we thought it was ideal. We were checked in quickly and efficiently, and although the porter grumbled at being asked to show us to our room by the receptionist, he took us in the lift right to our door. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The shower worked well which was great but the tv had a sound defect but luckily we had magazines with us. The room was quite cold during the night (despite us being northerners!) but it was quiet. We didn't eat at the hotel although room service was available, we chose to eat at the Spaghetti House just along the road which served great food at reasonable prices.

Though very well located, I would not stay here again. The foyer and restaurant areas feel very smart but the rooms feel like a throwback from the late seventies - formica-type furniture and old-fashioned decoration. The carpet in my room also seemed to have polythene underneath it so it sounded like your were walking on bin bags when you crossed your room! The bathroom was very spacious though - the best thing about the room.

Great location near the major shopping streets with reasonable rates but a very tired hotel with vintage 80's decor. The staff ranged from indifferent to surly except for the enthusiastic cleaning staff who gave us a wake-up call at 08h30 on Sunday and started cleaning the other group members' room around them before checkout. Glad we found a couple of restaurants and a patisserie within 5 minutes' walk as we perceived the hotel restaurant to have an Eastern flavour, which was simply not what we were looking for. We also saw a surprise visitor in the form of a mouse in the lobby. All in all, a convenient spot but there were times we wanted to be staying in the hotel opposite. Recommended only if your expectations are relatively low.

My second stay, this time in a more traditionally furnished room rather than the contemporary and probably recently refurbished one I had last time. It was showing its age with peeling paint on windows (which were old sashes and didn't shut very well), and the bed was very soft and probably needed replacing. Overall though the room had everything needed for a one-night stay, including small desk, plenty of toiletries and tea/coffee, the staff at reception and in the bar again very friendly and welcoming. Very well-located hotel just behind Oxford Street. Restaurant was being refurbished, and price didn't include breakfast so can't comment on the food. The room was a reasonable size and I was given one with a bath when asked, without any problem. Unfortunately the pop-up plug wouldn't pop down, but the overall fittings in the bathroom and bedroom were of good quality. My room had french windows to a balcony overlooking quite a busy street, so was a bit drafty and there was some traffic noise, but certainly not unbearable. Hotel bar is small and pleasant. Check-in/check-out was very slick, staff welcoming. I would definitely stay here again.

Hotel was clean and tidy. However, I did have some issues. The air-con made one hell of a racket so I had to turn it off, even then it wasn't silent but bareable. This made the room cold but no extra blankets were available. The hot water seemed to take far to long to heat up and was a bit temperamental. I was woken twice by maids shouting down the corridor or talking outside of my door. Finally the telly volumn seemed to flutter on certain channels, which was very distracting so I missed some viewing I had planned. In general I have always been happy with Best Western Hotels and use them frequently but won't be returning to the Mostyn Hotel.

We arrived at and had made the booking...
We arrived at 19:30 and had made the booking the day before but no-one seemed to know anything about our booking. Checking in took ages and everything seemed unorganised although there were 3 people on the reception and it was quiet.
The reception area was beautiful and looked as if it had been recently updated. We were given directions to our room and proceeded to take the lift to the 4th floor. The lift was old, small and very slow. The whole hotel above the ground floor was like stepping back in time and it was like being in a different building. The whole place was shabby to say the least but did appear to have work being carried out in some areas.
Our room was a total let down (do not base your ideas on the photos as our room was nothing like the pictures supplied to this website). There was a light hanging out of the ceiling, lumps of plaster knocked out of the walls, AC which seemed to have a mind of its own, a TV with sound problems, a double room with only 1 mug for tea and coffee facilities and there was hair of some description in the bath. The room was very small with the double bed against two walls; it was more like a single with a double bed squeezed in.
The hotel did have good points, the location was just off Oxford Street with a bus stop outside, it was a short walk to the underground and there is a carpark opposite 32 for 24hrs. The bar and restaurant areas looked clean an up to date but we did not use them so we are unable to comment.

Unfortunately on arrival the room was still being cleaned at 4.20 on a Sunday afternoon, we dropped our bags off quickly and left to go and have a walk round. We came back to the room and the first thing I did was to turn the radiator down as it was absolutely stiffling, I then left the window open to cool the room down. My husband went into the bathroom only to find rubbish from the previous occupants plus a set of contact lense cases that had been left on the side. We had to tune in the TV and even then the reception was pretty poor, we only wanted to catch up with the latest news. The room was pretty small and cramped and the rest of the night was spent trying to get the room cool either by turning the air conditioning on, which didn't seem to make much difference or opening the window, which was a bit cooler but due to the constant road traffic noise from below (we were on the 4th floor!) it resulted in a sleepless night. I'm not sure about the rest of the rooms but ours was pretty dated with wallpaper coming off and flaking paint, I know you don't go to stare at the interior but it would definitely benefit from a good make-over.

I booked a twin room to share with a colleague to stay over after a conference. First impressions were excellent with a beautiful new reception area; very smart. We were a bit concerned about noise on arrival as the hotel fronts a very busy road, but were very pleased to find that our room faced the rear. Also they had thoughtfully allocated us a triple room instead of a twin, so the room was huge! Shower was fantastic too. All for 118, which was excellent value overall and we even got chocolates on the pillow and a newspaper the next morning.
My only complaint would be that the room was too hot, even though the radiators were switched off. We had to sleep with the air conditioning on - which was noisy.

Our bus dropped us at Marble Arch and the hotel was nearby and easy to find. The hotel was in a good location just a few yards away from Oxford Street, Hyde park and the American Embassy. We didn't use the restaurant as it was closed for refurbishment but there were two pubs very close that did excellent food at reasonable prices. We had checked in early and were shown to a fairly large and smart room in the basement. However we had to ask to be moved that evening as on our return from eating out and putting the light on in the room we spotted two cockroaches on the floor, one of which we killed. There was no problem with the transfer and the staff could not have been more considerate and helpful. Apart from the uninvited guests in the room I rate this hotel highly-location, clealiness, room amenities and the staff were all excellent and I am already making plans to stay again in November

Whilst i was in my room a maintenance guy let himself in , saw me half dressed , said sorry and left ! I did complain to reception who just smiled and said sorry. I was not impressed with the lack of customer service. When i checked out the receptionist was rude and obviously had better things to do with herself than be at work in the hotel. She answered the phone whilst i was speaking to her and left me standing there for 15 mins whilst she spoke to whoever it was.
The TV in the room didn't work properly either and though i asked for it to be repaired it wasnt and this was after the maintenance guy let himself in. I am guessing it had been reported before my stay.
The cost of the room was 118 per night through Laterooms, the full cost is around 140. The hotel is in a good location and i walked to Oxford Street which took about 5 mins but i would not stay here again due to the bad customer Service i recieved.

This was a disaster from the start. I stated I would be arriving later and when I did there was about half a dozen cards left in the box. They had no trace of my reservation. The chap kept searching the computer. In the end he took another reservation and just changed the name on it!! As he was doing this the person whose reservation it was arrived!! All during this he didnt speak to me. But I did get a room and he took me to it. It has a key rather than electonic swipe which was nice. He didnt however leave me a key so I could go anywhere away from the room.
The heating was stuck on 23C and I couldnt get it any lower so had to open a window onto a very noisy street. Thank goodness I had taken some ear plugs. I tried to use the phone line with my computer at the desk but it didnt work so had to balance my PC on my lap and plug it into the phone by the bed. I then decided to relax and watch the TV. However I couldnt get any channels. I phone reception and was told none of them worked in the hotel because someone had chipped the box. So all 121 rooms didnt have any working TV. Ok I know it was a good price but I had a terrible nights sleep, was hot then very cold. I would have been better off in the travel lodge.

What a let down having stayed here before. The so called double room was no more than a converted box room (even then for storing only very small boxes) with the double bed pushed against one wall and little or no room on the other side to move. The bar ran out of beer. The air conditioning only started to work as we were leaving in the morning. There was some sort of extraction unit outside the window that was working and making a noise. In the morning the shower was either freezing cold or red hot. Complaints to staff were met with the old chestnut of "sorry the manager is on holiday". The "continental" breakfast was interesting as the (stewed) tea, fruit juice and grapefruit segments all seemed to be served at room temperature...and so it goes on. Would I stay again? Daft as it sounds, probably Yes as things can't get any worse.
