Good for Victoria

I generally like Best Western hotels. This one I found by accident, it is about 10 min walk from the Train Station itself. The hotel is nice, rooms are clean and have a lot of things you might need. I had a small room on the first floor, the shower was reasonably new but clean. The was a desk, a bit old small TV, phone, shampoo and shower gel, tee and coffee set, even a shoe polish and a trouser press.. All rooms have card keys, which is a good change from most of london *** hotels. The staff was very nice and helpful, seemed to be all Russian. Overall, nice a pleasant, just as a hotel should be for a business stay. Did not have breakfast, so no comment.

Adequate but nothing special

Room was very small but adequate for a 2 night stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was continental and reasonable and was included in the room rate.

Very uncomfortable stay

The accomodation was nice and tidy. However, the shower cubicle had a blocked drain so each time I showered, I had water rising up to my ankles. The customer service was also poor. I asked for the internet code one morning and the receptionist asked me to come down and get it. The day before, it was read to me over the phone so I did not see what the problem was. I ended up not using the internet that day because I was still in my pyjamas and it was barely gone 7am. I will not be staying here again. Breakfast was dissapointing as well as it was continental so nothing hot apart from tea and coffee. Making tea in the room was not nice as the tea bags in the room tasted really horrible.

Although the room was clean, it was noisy from both outside and from rooms above and beside - not the most relaxing stay by a long way. The staff at breakfast were lovely - very attentive.

Wild horses would not drag me back

This hotel was a terrible disappointment - it was over-priced; in no way deserved its star rating and had the most badly laid out, cramped rooms imaginable - accompanied by diffident staff and, to add insult to injury the wilted collection of stale food that was carelessly chucked out as a continental breakfast was the worst I have seen. I am a seasoned traveller and have stayed in some 3rd-world flea pits in my time - and have always got better service and better food than what was on offer in this joint.

Handy and clean - but some traffic noise

Good deal via the internet of £75 a night for a double room, close to Pimlico Tube.
Only downside - single glazed windows making the front facing bedroom rather noisy.

Only stayed one night, but couldn't fault hotel. Staff were friendly, room OK size for the 3 of us and clean, with all the usual facilities. There was no extractor fan in bathroom which was unfortunate, but for such a short stay it wasn't really a problem. Hotel very convenient for tube and river. Situated in a pleasant neighbourhood with some traffic, but not excessive. We didn't eat at the hotel as they were several nice cafes, serving breakfast nearby.

Was fine for what we wanted, close to tube, attractions, etc. Bathroom very small and mouldy shower. Tea, coffee, etc not replenished by maid so had to keep going to reception to ask for it, but on the whole a good hotel with 24 hour reception. Nice and quiet.

Small but comfortable

A one night stay in London is never going to be cheap, but this hotel's location was right for where I needed to be and suited my needs.
Initial impressions were ok. Customer service involved checking me in, telling me where my room was and checking me out again, which was all perfectly adequate, but not exceptional by any means.
As I wasn't dining at the hotel and didn't have the breakfast, I don't know what the food was like, or indeed if there was any!
The room I booked was a single and so I wasn't surprised that it would be small. I didn't think it would be as small as it was though. It was cramped to say the least, though everything you'd expect was present.
Though the room iteself was clean, the carpet left a bit to be desired, with the odd stain here and there. The single bed was comfortable enough and suited the purpose, since I managed a decent night's sleep, even though first impressions suggested I might not.
The small size of the room was reflected in the quality of the en-suite - which was tiny, but again, adequate for a one or two night stay, with nice fresh towels and soaps, shampoos etc.
The vanity tray contained a good selection of teas and coffees and a plentiful supply of UHT milk cartons - though I always bring my own milk anyway, as I dislike the UHT stuff.
All in all, the hotel lived up to my expectations and provided a comfortable enough stay.

Water, water..

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel by booking through late rooms. It was a different room but there is one common problem to both rooms - no cold water! I left the tap to run for 30 mins and could only get hot water, nothing to clean teeth or take pills with!

New Year's Eve Trip to London

I spend a lot of time in hotels through my work and booked this hotel, as it was listed as a 4 star for 3 nights for a treat for my wife and I for new years eve. This was disappointing for me as the 4 star hotel rooms i have stayed in previously have been far superior to this one. This was more like 2 star accommodation with 4 star prices. The room and en suite were very small although adequate for the few nights we stayed as we hardly spent anytime in the there. Cobwebs were present on the celing and the room and ensuite were top clean. Every morning we were woken by the staff preparing breakfast in the kitchen that was nearby.
All in we had a brilliant trip and did not let the disappointment of the hotel spoil the few days we were in London.

Much better than expected.

Having stayed in other hotels in the Pimlico/Victoria area I had fairly low expectations however I was pleasantly surprised.
The room was taller than it was either wide or long, but it was a high ceiling!
Clean room, comfortable bed, helpful staff, breakfast OK and all priced very reasonably given the central location.
I would certainly stay here again shlould the need arise.

Odd water problem

Normally, if one has a problem with water in a hotel, it is a lack of hot water, however my problem was a lack of cold at the washbasin taps and so I had to use bottled water to take some tablets and to clean my teeth with. I forgot to mention this when checking out. An excellent value stay, I shall use it again.

Small room but great service

The hotel rate was a good £30-40 below that of others in the area but this would be reflected in the size of the room.
The room is the smallest I have ever stayed in and you had to squeeze into the bathroom and shut the door behind you to use it at all. In general the room was clean (not much of it to clean mnd).
The hotel staff, of which I spoke with around 4 different staff during a one night stay, were all extremely helpful when asking them for help on dining out and taxis. They made it feel that nothing was too much bother.
Overall it is suited to someone on a budget who is only staying for one night.

Great Weekend!

I had a great weekend and certainly had no complaints about the hotel or my room. For London, I thought that it was good value for money. The room was exceptionally clean, the bed comfortable and plenty of hot water in the shower!!! Following on from other customer reviews, I purchased drinking water from a nearby corner shop - so that problem was solved!
The Continental Breakfast the following morning was more than sufficient with a good choice and quick service. All in all I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would definitely return!
