Great value for money but incompetent staff

For the money paid you really could get much better. The hotel is in a good location just seconds walk from Earls Court tube station. The rooms are tired, but comfortable (if a little hot as there isn't any air conditioning). However the stay was slightly spoiled due to the staff not recognising the numer of rooms required, which the reservation clearly indicated. After spending some time in reception while they sorted out the confusion they had made themselves, they eventually offered up suitable rooms, but it is somewhat disappointing that the staffs initial approach was to blame us for booking incorrectly, when (after they assessed their computer) they had to apologize for not assessing their own details fully. That's pretty poor in my opinion.

We were visiting the Royal Albert Hall and stayed at the Great Western Burns Hotel London. The customer service was excellent all of the staff were courteous at all times. Our room although a little on the small side was clean, inviting and comfortable.
The only thing I would say is that if you need a taxi book a black cab it's cheaper that the private hire company the hotel uses.

FIRST TRIP TO LONDON

This was our first trip to London and we were pleased to find this hotel was well presented, clean and in a quiet location that was easy to find from the station at Earl's Court. The staff at reception were helpful.
I would stay here again but some small improvements would make the whole experience so much better.
When we arrived we checked into our rooms and went for a drink at the bar. The barman was not at all warm and friendly and his manner was almost rude. We didn't like the atmosphere in the bar or restaurant but there are plenty others near at hand. It was also very cold however the bedrooms were far too hot. It was very cold (minus temperatures) when we visited but the heat in the rooms was almost unbearable. My sister got a member of staff to alter the heating in her room the first night and that did help a little but they were still very stuffy and airless.
The bathroom was clean but got very steamy when the shower was on and the floor got very wet despite having a shower curtain over the bath.
All in all, our stay was comfortable, the prices reasonable and I would stay again.

Earls Court Stay

Was working at a consumer show at Earls Court. Ideal location for show and local shops/cafes and restaurants. Friendly staff. Room absolutely fine, free wi fi a bonus. Did not eat at hotel (due to cost) but plenty of breakfast options just around the corner.

One night break

Very pleasant location but a very small room. Friendly and very helpful staff. Unfortunately our room overlooked the road and constant noise prevented us from getting much sleep. In future I would sooner travel home for three hours than pay not to sleep!

Good for the money... but it was on offer

I stayed with a friend at hotel as we were going to a gig. it was the week before Christmas so £89 for a twin room was the best available. It was good for the money but would be disappointed if I was paying any more.

Good Central Hotel

The staff were very friendly and made our stay very welcome.
If using the tube, we found Earls Court nearer than Glouster Road to use even though on the directions it did quote Glouster Road was only a 2 minute walk.

My Night at the Best Western (Earls Court)

From the outside I didn't know what to expect. Once entering the Reception Area, I thought how clean and tidy this Hotel was and the receptionist was most helpful. I arrived early to book in aswell and expected to be asked to return later but she had a room ready, so I was able to go to my room earlier. The room was small but I was a single traveller and it gave me everything I wanted so I would say the room size was right for a single person. The Bathroom was so clean and I had no noise from the street outside.

Lovely stay, many thanks, and close to the tube station too :)

Stayed here for three nights. Had managed to get booking through late rooms and got a nice discount :) Although it was still more expensive than staying further out, considering the location, it was worth it!!! The previous hotel I had stayed in was out on the DLR somewhere, through an estate of office buildings that was deserted late at night and quite a walk. In comparison, this hotel was a couple of minutes walk to Earls Court tube station, passed a couple of hotels and pubs, so there were always people about and somewhere to get breakfast in the morning/drink at night if you didn't want to be in the hotel. I must admit that I'm not a big breakfast eater so we did venture out for a cheaper breakfast rather than stay in the hotel, but if you like you full English, etc. then it's probably good value and convenient!
The only real contact (apart from checking in/out and handy luggage storage) was asking for an extra towel, which they were very obliging and brought up to the room in no time.
There wasn't much room to move about, but as we were staying there for somewhere to put our heads down and clean up a little and not practice ballroom dancing (or whatever you may be into), this was perfectly fine, and to be expected in the sort of town house type set-up.
Nice TV set-up and plenty of tea/coffee and bathroom supplies.
Many thanks for an enjoyable stay.

Try harder!

The check in procedure took 45 minutes in total as no one seemed to know what they were doing! We were asked for a passport number also so had to tell them we live in this country and therefore don't need to carry a passport. The lift didn't work and there was no sign to tell you. The room on the fourth floor was tiny, not even big enough to swing a cat, it was very dated and the curtains didn't close. To top it I was woken at 3.44am and kept awake till 7.00am with banging doors, shouting, room service and people kissing outside my door! No answer at reception when I tried to call them. Would never stay here again.

Convenient, quiet location

+ convenient, quiet location, friendly staff
- be warned: (continental) breakfast buffet a bit monotonous (just one sort of cheese/sausage each), but several pubs in the vicinity offer breakfast, too; face value price (as displayed in the lobby: 120 GBP for a single) is way too much; but with an advance purchase half that price it's really good value for money by London standards

I stayed only one night at the Best Western Burns but the room was warm, clean and comfortable. The ensuite bathroom appeared to have been refurbished very recently and the decor in the bedroom was tidy and pleasing. The staff were welcoming and efficient and the hotel is excellently located for Earls Court tube station. A very good experience and excellent value. I would definitely stay there again.

Family history break

Stayed five nights - comfortable stay, convenient for tube or walking to Kensington, Olympia and Kew, and excellent value for money. Staff generally friendly and helpful. Did not sample breakfast, but only downside was bar food on Sunday night. Chips were off, alternative of shepherd's pie and frozen vegetables was tepid and gloopy! Will stick to the excellent local restaurants next time!

Needs attention to detail

Room on first inspection looked really nice, but little things stuckout.
there were a few little issues (blocks of wood underneath the bath legs) other than that the hotel was nice. it seems clean and cared for.
The receptionist was slightly aloof, but it didn't affect the stay.

Friendly, competitively priced hotel only a few Tube stops from city centre

I've stayed in this hotel 6/7 times in the past 18 months and have always been very happy with it. The single rooms, it is true, are small, but if you are out and about in London for your stay and using the hotel as a base, this place is ideal. Very friendly staff who actually remember you if you return a few weeks later. THe hotel is based in a lovely part of south London close to all the general amenities one would want, shops, post office, cafes, pubs

The room was nicely presented but we were in the cellar of the building and it was very cold. My husband hugged the radiator (next to his bed) all night and I had my hot water bottle. Every thing else was OK. Could have done with biscuits with tea making but M&S Simply Food was at the end of the road.
