Good service all round
Summary
Despite being allegedly non-smoking, the hotel stank of cigarette smoke in most of the stairwells - fortunately, it wasn't too strong in the room I was in.
Other than that, clean and decent for a basic hotel - shower was a little dissapointing in terms of the water trickling out without much power.
If it wasn't for the cigarette smoke, i would probably use this hotel on a regular basis.
This hotel is spread across 3 buildings. When we arrived we were told that our room had been upgraded from a standard double room, to an apartment suite. It was a little walk away from the main hotel, but was a lovely room and excellent value as we had only paid £43 for our standard double room.
The main hotel has 2 shared bathrooms, which I see as a negative point, but we had an en-suite bathroom so that was fine.
The staff were friendly and professional. Would stay again and would definitely reccommend this hotel!
For the price it was pretty much as expected. Apart from the room being the smallest room I have ever seen in any building I couldn't have expected any more. The receptionist was helpful and friendly upon arrival, the room was fairly clean with a TV, sink and kettle. Absolutely fine for one night.
Summary
Easy to find. But be careful what you book.As I booked in last minute I didn't notice it is shared bathroom and toilet!! Was shocked about it when informed by receptionest. Also additional £2 fee when paying by credit or debit card {how many people pay these days by cash}. Room extremely small and could hear people pee and flashing toilet as having room next to the shared bathroom. Would not use again.
Summary
The room was as I expected, basic but had what we needed, the price we paid was cheap, as it was late booking, room was clean, shower was small, but we enjoyed our stay, staff were helpful.
I know it was a budget room, however I wasn’t expecting the constant noise if running water from a huge storage tank. My night sleep would have been ruined if it hadn’t of been for a move to a quieter venue by the night staff.
Summary
I expected nothing much, and got even less. Really only stay here if you're desperate and on a budget, the single room was tiny, the pipes ran along the inside of the walls and kept me up whenever someone showered, saying the walls were paper thin would be generous, the shower and bathroom were pretty unclean, everything was rusted/rotting, the 8 flights of stairs to my room were a nightmare, the room was unclean, was greeted with a wad of tissue in the sink on arrival. Couldn't help but feel like George Orwell in Down and Out in Paris and London... On second thought, don't stay here if you're desperate, it's likely to tip you over the edge. The only redeeming factor was a couple of friendly blokes behind the reception desk. It's cheap for a reason I guess.
Summary
Comfortable and affordable, very friendly/helpful staff and an excellent location.
Summary
Very basic, walls thin
Summary
Excellent for what we needed (6 guys going to a concert in Brixton).
Great location, 2 minutes from Victoria coach station, pubs nearby showing football, Victoria tube station nearby.
Would book again for future visits
The hotel had a good location, quite close to victoria coach station and about a 10 minute walk to nearest underground station. The room was small and sheets looked very old and used, but it was only £50 for one night with two beds, a sink, dvd player with tv but bathroom was shared. The only minor problem we had was with the lock sticking but we got that sorted.
Overall its cheap and has everything you need, but don't expect it to be luxurious
Central location, accomodation adequate for a few nights, staff helpful.
Summary
I didn't pay much - but in future would rather pay more to stay elsewhere. It was ok as I didn't arrive til 10.30 pm and left at 7 am but it is not somewhere I would choose to stay in future. Shabby is the kindest way to describe it.
Summary
I was upgraded to a basement studio. It was big, newly decorated and clean. The only flaw was I could not unlock the wrought iron gate to the street on my way out in the morning. I had used the gate twice the night before with no problem. I called reception and they sent a maintence man straight away and he got me out. It all turned out ok.
Summary
This is budget accommodation, but perfectly adequate. The more people you cram in to a room, the better value, but for two of us it was still cheap for London. We had a room, or two interconnecting rooms, which would have slept five, or even six if the spare mattress had been pulled out from under the bunks... I think the hotel's main stock-in-trade is coach parties, and a large crowd of young people were arriving and checking in late at night as we returned from our (rather expensive) evening meal! Belgravia is a classy area, so dining nearby is pricey - but the much less salubrious Victoria region is not far off. The room was clean, the bathroom functioned, they'd done a good job of pretending there was a window in the room when there wasn't (although there was a skylight) by putting up a large photo of a London street scene - a welcome relief from the usual boring hotel print of flowers in a vase. No breakfast, don't forget; but there are reasonable cafes for that!
Summary
If you're looking for all mod cons, home luxuries and top quality, you're in the wrong place with this hotel. If you're looking for a room for 6 youngish men whose only requirement is a clean bed for the night, a bathroom and toilet, and which is located in central London (and you don't want to shell out a fortune in the process), then this place is perfect. It was also very quiet, safe and very close to The Green Cafe for Friday morning greasy spoon fare.
Summary
Customer service was very good although joking about the riots was not professional.
The room was very small. It was very clean in general, but had plenty of dust as behind the TV screen where one has to press a button to turn it on. Additionally, the tube feeding water to the shower had a leak which was covered with a sticking plaster.
Eventhough, the price was quite reasonable for being so central.
One night with my girlfriend and a friend. I will never go back to this hotel. Only 1 advantage : near a station and Buckingame Palace ...
Summary
No hot water in the morning for shower, no lock on bathroom door, no bulb in one bedside lamp, rickety table. An off site room, with a poor set of directions, and at 09:00 another guest attempting access to the room when check out was not for another hour and a half! Slap dash service, and unhelpful staff.
Summary
It has very good location near Victoria station (a few minutes waking distance) and a quiet neighburhood. Altough it is not quiet at night because of thin walls - I hope you will not have some horny couple in the room next to you..hehehe...and dont forget the adress if you go look for it (Ebury st 104) - there isn't any sign at all at the entrance an nobody around can help you because nobody there is from london!! :)
Summary
Moved late to substitute hotel when I went to check in at 11pm, which turned out to be OK. The guy on reception was very matter of fact about it. Many would no doubt be disappointed in their complacency at the revised arrnagement. The room was fine. Neither the room nor the bathroom were easy on the eye nor were the beds especially comfortable but it was clean, there was a tv, hot water and a very standard breakfast in the morning, and in the very centre of London I couldn't reasonably expect much more for the price.
Summary
Our room was an 'apartment' on the ground floor of a completely separate building to the hotel. Being on the ground floor, every time the tube on the underground went through (every 3 minutes throughout the night) the whole room vibrated. This room was deamed an upgrade from our standard room booking, if this was an upgrade I would dread to be in the room orginally booked.
Summary
I had booked a double room but upon arrival was told I was placed in a twin. When I queried that and showed him the booking the very rude receptionist told me I would "get what I was given". I told him I wasn't happy and he reluctantly told me he would put me in a "big room". When I said I was paying by debit card he told me I would have to pay a £2 fee for this. He refused to tell me what the fee was for and I cannot remember seeing any mention of this on the Lateroom.com info.
The room itself was ok but lacking in character. It was large, with two sets of bunk beds, a double bed and even a small kitchen style table and chairs as well as microwave, kettle and fan.
The "ensuite" was literally the size of a wardrobe - no exaggeration - which contained a toilet, sink and shower. They could have made the room slightly smaller and put a proper small bathroom in.
The best thing about the hotel was that it was on a beautiful street in Belgravia and very handy for transport links in central London.
I hope the rude receptionist is sacked.
Totally different from what it is shown on the web.
Summary
Room was clean, bedding and towels very good, bed not too comfortable, was fine for the cost right near to Victoria station, only needed for sleeping, room was quiet at the rear of building.
Summary
Very clean room and very friendly service
Summary
Having paid £20 for a single room, I wasn't expecting much at all - and was very pleasantly surprised.
It's obviously not a shiny, modern, hotel - but check-in was perfectly friendly and efficient. I paid cash, and was given the keys to my room in the building next door. (Look for the address outside, not the hotel name).
The room was a decent size and had a window with not much of a view, but at least outside and not directly opposite a wall. The furniture was reasonable and in decent condition, and everything was spotlessly clean, although the bedding was a little spartan (however, it was a double bed).
Tea & coffee was provided, as an unexpected bonus. The bathroom was up just a few steps and, again, was very clean and reasonably spacious, if not super-modern.
The location was very good, 5 minutes from Victoria or Sloane Square, and a seemingly pleasant part of town - lots of little boutiques that I wouldn't dream of going in to ask the prices!
It's an old building, and the noise does carry somewhat, particularly from the front-door slamming shut, but I had no problems with late-night noise.
For that price, it's an obvious choice, for £50+, I might think about it.
The room was clean and huge, perfect
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!
Not what was expected and misleading in the name and place of the Hotel
Summary
Guys at late rooms were so helpful. There were 4 of us, we had a tight budget and needed to be as close as possible to temple pier, we had a boat to catch and were very tight for time. The hotel couldn't have been in a better place, beautiful kensington houses, little pavement cafes, it was just perfect. The room itself was fine, the bathroom was hilarious, if your a normal size person, fine, if you're a little bit overweight, you will not fit into the bathroom. The beds were really uncomfortable but we didn't get back home until 4am so they did the job. The receptionist guy was lovely. We parked for free all weekend. All in all a perfect weekend.
and good location (although take in account that rooms are few min walk from reception)
Summary
I realkly liked my room here, although it was at the top of very large set of stairs, My room was small but just what i wanted. It was clean, had a double bed and a tv that worked. I would definitely come back and stay here again.
Summary
Great room, close to everything, clean and helpful staff. Let us check out at 11:30 for no extra cost and leave our suitcases there for the day for £2. Car park was £35 but as the rooms so cheap this balances out the prices. Brilliant rooms for groups or family
Summary
For £25 pppn in a six-bedded room in London, I did not expect a lot. The location is so good (only 5 mins from both Victoria and Sloane Square and amidst great little shops, restaurants and bars) that I thought that would be what we were paying for and that the room would be appalling....
I was very pleasantly surprised! We stayed in room 16 (102 Ebury Street-next door to check in and main hotel). From the minute we arrived it felt homely, the guy on reception was kind and courteous and able to answer all my questions about local amenities. There is a £2 fee for using cards (that I was unaware of previously) but I was told where the nearest cashpoint was so I didn't have to incur that unnecessary charge. I had trouble with the door sticking and the guy who'd checked me in actually closed the reception for 1 minute to assist me. He was very patient and friendly.
The room itself, despite looking like a swedish sauna (wood panelling!) was large, airy, clean and of a much higher standard than an average hostel or hotel. We had crisp white linen and towels, a fridge, kettle, tea and coffee etc, lots of lamps and a couple of chairs plus a wardrobe and tonnes of drawers. More space than we needed for our 1 night stay!
All who stayed in the room agreed it was great, and the shared bathroom being up one flight of stairs was no bother to any of us. It was clean and compact with a shower, sink and toilet.
Allocated a two-room flat in a local tower block. Brilliant !
Summary
Clean hotel, good value for money for travellers
Summary
Extremely basic accomodation, as expected. Beds not made. Cold, basement level and windows did not lock. Bathroom and toilet up two flights of stairs from room.
However, it was in the middle of victoria and very central.
Very uncomfortable having to pay up front, it set a bad tone.
The decor in the bedroom was rubbish, laminate floor that didnt fit and rough edges everywhere!! floor was dirty and sheets had stains on. nice :/
