Did what it said Friendly staff rooms basic...
Did what it said. Friendly staff, rooms basic but for the price,great. Didn't make breakfast due to very late nights! My room was way upstairs and there is no lift so it was a struggle with my bags and the toilet (not an en-suite room) was difficult to use as a male of 6'1", sitting down and keeping the door closed was a struggle too.

A very unassuming hotel, quite quiet but there are a lot of stairs. Very pleasant for an overnight stay. The staff were pleasant and helpful.

Upon arrival, the owner was extremely helpful. The room was basic but clean, the en suite was small but again clean. The heating worked well so the room was lovely and warm. Breakfast was enjoyable but the sausages were abit basic. Would stay again.

Barry House was absolutely ideal for what I...
Barry House was absolutely ideal for what I was after a one night stopover in London for an evening's reception. The price was very reasonable for that area of the capital. The customer service was first class and the room was clean and well presented, thank you.

The worst hotel room I have stayed in...
The worst hotel room I have stayed in for a very long time. But what did I expect? - I had only paid £54. It was clean although the shower tray did not drain very well and the shower room/wc had an interesting smell reminding me of holidays abroad. However, the bed was fine and once the guy in the room above had stopped walking about I had a good nights sleep. The whole place needs renovation but given the price, I would consider staying here again for its convenience.

Very good value for money The room was...
Very good value for money. The room was small and although the shower was ensuite and satisfactory the toilet was in the corridor and tiny. Breakfast was fine and the owners/staff were friendly and efficient.

I accidentally booked an "ensuite" without WC - my mistake but something to watch out for. As other reports have said, household style stairs with no lift, poor TV reception but very clean and exceptionally helpful proprietor. Would stay here again in preference to risking somewhere i didn't know, but would look at others hotels of which I have experience first

I arrived quite late (about 8pm) was met and shown to room, had been upgraded as there was a better room available. Room was comfortable, clean and with good facilities. All round a very good experience.
