Staff lovely, breakfast fine. Room 12 (single) very very small and cramped. Would stay here again only if I booked a different room

Staff lovely, breakfast fine. Room 12 (single) very very small and cramped. Would stay here again only if I booked a different room
Summary
All good, apart from the smell of paint, but I trust this will go with time!
Summary
The best ensuite of any budget hotel, a proper glass screen in the shower rather than curtain. The hair in the plughole was out of place, everything else spotless. Great light fittings in the bedroom, very bright, though main bulb bare, but being such a high ceiling it wasn't a problem. Excellent Samsung flatscreen. Location close to some great pubs such as the Norfolk arms. Overlooked quiet square, but any noise wafts into the bedroom due to traditional sash windows, but what self respecting budget hotel traveller doesn't carry earplugs?
Summary
I can't rate this hotel highly enough. It offers superb value compared with chain hotels and provides a much better service. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was absolutely spotless. The accommodation isn't luxurious, but then that isn't to be expected at this price in central London.
Summary
For the wonderfully inexpensive rate I found, I assumed a small room with a single bed. I happily arrived to a beautiful room fit for royalty. I felt quite pampered by the atmosphere and the lovely service. An unassuming hotel that is worth the visit.
Summary
This hotel is cheap and well located. I paid £59 for one night, for one, in a double room, with an English breakfast, less than 5 minutes easy walk from Euston Station. I went to a show at Ronnie Scotts in Soho and it cost me less than a tenner for the taxi home at 2am.
The room I stayed in (room 4) was poorly decorated, very cheaply furnished and slightly grubby but, the bed was clean and comfortable, the heating worked, and the shower was hot and powerful.
The full English Breakfast wasn't quite full - one egg, one piece of bacon, one sausage, baked beans and half a cold tomato but, there was the usual juice, cereal and toast to fill up on and the staff were helpful.
You wouldn't want to stay here for a special occasion but, for one night, on my own, it was perfectly adequate, really well located and very cheap.
Good budget accommodation for this area of London.
Summary
Hotel is really well situated in nice part of London and easy walking distance of restuarants/stations etc. Booked a single room but got a triple - basic but clean and staff very helpful. Would definitely stay there again
Summary
Brilliant location. Parked car at 24hr car park 4 mins away..£18 per day. Paid congestion charge automatically by signing up online. All easy to book.
Had appointment at GOSH 10 mins walk away. Did a show at the Savoy theatre on first eve, easy tube ride away. Shopping centre 5 mins walk with places to eat, browse and shop. Kids loved all the different local architecture, books shops, places to eat, park spaces and tube rides. Nearest tube 8 mins walk away.
Spent a day with girls 11 and 12 yrs going around sights, Buckingham palace, lunch at Hard Rock Cafe (fantastic staff ), Covent Garden (lots to see), Green Park, Hyde Park, lots of photos and fun and feeding the pigeon. Really liked the war memorial opposite Buckingham palace and the wonderful statues.
Tube cost £13.20 all day for family of 3 travel, real bargain in my opinion.
Hotel staff lovely, friendly and kind to children.Kept our bags whilst we went out on last day, could leave valuables safely behind the desk. Helped with directions and maps. Great choice of breakfast from attentive staff.
Don't expect luxury but I found the room serviceable (if small). The hotel relatively quiet and the breakfast a pleasant surprise (cooked rather than 'continental').
Summary
It was a very odd room (family type room) considering I booked a double for single occupancy. However the room was perfectly clean and confortable. The shower did not drain very well and very nearly overflowed whilst I was using it, other than that it was fine. Breakfast was very good, well presented and plentiful.
I would certainly stay again.
Accommodation was basic but clean. Reasonably priced (by extortionate London standards).
Location very convenient for Euston, St Pancras and Kings Cross stations. 20 min walk into West End.
Good value for money, unpretentious hotel, would definitely consider staying here again.
Summary
Good location, good service.
Summary
Nice quiet hotel. Rooms were very hot (this was during the October 2011 heatwave) but a fan was provided. Ok breakfast. Good service. It smelt lovely! Nice surroundings too.
Summary
A typical old London hotel - that sadly has had no money spent on it. Despite the hype of marketing, be under no illusion that this is just another slightly elderly, tatty hotel that is past its prime.
Our room was supposedly the 'best' - a family room. It was the only room left so thats what we got. The toilet seat was broken and the window wouldn't stay shut - which was necessary due to the street noise into the early hours of the morning. It was 'clean' but not sparkling. Old carpets and paintwork plus ingrained dirt deep in the tile grouting in the bathroom - which was dark.
At the price we paid we expected hand towels and some milk - to accompany the complimentry tea and coffee...not provided.
We arrived back quite late and too tired to take the problems up with the 'management'. In the morning the duty receptionist was fairly unhelpful and definately not interested. They did make a token gesture of a small discount - and promised the real manager would call later in the day - still waiting for that call, 3 days later.
Very easy to find. Small room but it was what I expected for a single. Friendly staff. Clean with a decent ensuite shower that was lovely and hot. Good value for money.
Summary
The Avonmore is well-located for Kings Cross, St. Pancras and Euston train stations, as well as for Bloomsbury, Russell Square, University of London, where we attended a conference. Kings Cross is about a 10-15 minute walk, so it may be difficult to find a cab for such a short distance, although plenty of them are on Tavistock Place nearby. Excellent Fish and Chips within sight of the hotel's front door, as well as plenty of restaurants, shops, laundry very close, yet hotel is quiet.
In our room it would help to have a small soap dish installed inside the shower, as there is nowhere to put down shampoo or soap. Staff is very attentive at desk and in breakfast room, making for a pleasant stay. Many thanks.
We stayed at this hostel for 2 nights its ok if you want somewhere to sleep, but thats all.. Breakfast is a strange affair when you are asked if you want full english and recieved a few minutes later a freshly cooked very miniscule cold breakfast we couldnt work out how they managed it , we could hear them cooking it but was cold when we got it. My wife had to wrestle her plate back off the cook because she tried to take the plate wilst she was finishing. We think the problem is that nobody speaks very good English there are a few different nationalities. working there. Other than that everything else is just basic and done on the cheap to a point where you wonder why you have paid £260 to stay in what can only be described as a Hostel!
Summary
The Avonmore is fairly basic, but well priced for Central London. The rooms are clean and warm, and the bed fresh.
The bathroom could have done with some attention - shower curtain was difficult to operate and the toilet took a long time for the sistern to refill - but other than this everything was fine.
A good base for exploring Central London, particularly if you are not planning on spending much time in the hotel anyway or (like myself) you are a working and just want somewhere to rest your head.
This little hotel for the money was ok. The breakfast was I thought quite good. Everything was ok and for buisness/working were you have to watch the pennies I would go there again,
However for a romantic weekend would sooner pay a little more and have a little more luxury.
It was very small, but I was only there for a few hours before I got the train back to Nottingham. Nice and close to St Pancras, staff were nice. Room was tiny, but comfortable.
Summary
Room was basic, but comfortable though ensuite was very cramped. But everything was clean, staff were pleasant and very helpful. The room was quiet, warm and well ventilated. Breakfast was good and service prompt. The location was excellent - it felt quite safe walking back from the theatre as a single woman late in the evening; mainline stations and tourist attractions were within easy walking reach. I would certainly recommend it and stay there again - for value for money and convenience it was excellent
Summary
Basic room but acceptable clean. A bit noisy due to traffic and tennis court outside. Rooms could do with a little redecoration and triple glazing. But warm and clean. Would stay again for short London Visit.
Summary
Pleasantly surprised at this bargain price convenient B & B. Easy to find, close to a number of attractions and main line stations. Only 15 minutes walk to theatre land and Soho, ideal for a short break.
Summary
Quiet hotel in North Bloomsbury. Close to Euston and Kings X/St Pancras. Ideal for short London stay. Wifi friendly. Decent morning breakfast.
Summary
Excellent little hotel, excellent value for money, conveinent for station and attractions.very clean, food great, will definatley book this hotel again.staff were very friendly and helpful.
Summary
Basic accommodation with friendly staff, an adequate breakfast included and a good, reasonably quiet Bloomsbury location. The room was small but very clean and tidy. However it was spoilt for us by the constant sound of the landing fire door slamming every time the person from the next room went in and out. (We never did find out why they kept coming and going in the wee small hours...) Obviously that's not the hotel management's fault - and they do have a sign on the door saying "Please don't bang this door" - but it ruined our night's sleep. For a tiny investment they could equip each of those doors with a self-closing device that prevents the doors slamming. Until they're done something like that I really wouldn't risk staying there again, in case Mr Slammer also makes a return visit.
Summary
Adequate, I suppose, for one night although the very small room in the basement was noisy because of the constant rumble of trains in the Underground. The service was generally very friendly and the breakfast was perfectly acceptable for a budget hotel.
Summary
This hotel is very cheap for the area. It's really central. As you can expect its not the Ritz but the staff are really nice, its clean and the food is very good. So for this price range I doubt you find any better in this location, especially with breakfast included!
Summary
The room was a reasonable size but a bit tatty and the bed was long past its sell by date. The staff were extremely helpfull and the breakfast was excellant. Well situated for exploring London with a tube station quite close. Fairly quiet traffic wise but the odd noisy pedestrians going by. All in all would recommend if youre not too picky..
Summary
Not much more to say.
Clean towels each day, good breakfast, just plane OK accommodation
It's one of those many crescent hotels you find in the city. They are hit and miss. At first, we didn't expect much as it seemed very typically a small place with a tiny reception and a basic locking yale key on the bedroom door. However, bedroom was a decent size, beds were comfy, shower was excellent and cleanliness was spot on. Very pleasant staff too. Breakfast was a surprise, not massive but a well cooked basic English. Good price for the location!
Summary
Run down and with small rooms, sure, but cheap and with en suite with working shower.
I wouldn't want to stay long, or bring a guest, but to get your head down after a meeting or night out it's convenient (well-situated with proper night-time staff cover), friendly (with hearty breakfast), and most of all cheap (for London).
Staff very friendly and helpful. Room a bit shabby, but clean and beds comfortable, and suited my daughter and I for the one night we stayed. Breakfast was good.
Summary
Chosen on proximity to event and we were overwhelmed with the Crescent's location and aspect. The people were so friendly and most welcoming - we would definitely stay again.
Nothing was too much trouble.
My 15 year old daughter and i stayed her for 4 days the staff were so very helpfull and friendly. Hotel right in centre of town, breakfast good value for money room could do with a bit of updating but as we spent so little time in it we for it ok. Would recomend this to friends and family. When we come to London we will be staying here again. Thank you for all your help with directions.
Summary
This is an old fashioned good quality b&b style hotel. Mine was single room, very small but totally fit for my trip, clean, and friendly and helpful staff.
Summary
Clever use of an unusual space in the basement, not sure how many more feet below me ran the tube trains i could hear? I would have liked a plug for the wash basin since shaving with a running tap is difficult and wasteful, handy location for the purpose of my visit and so close to many other important places too, yet tucked away in a leafy garden crescent, staff were pleasant and breakfast basic.
Summary
Room was very basic, but the staff were so helpful and went out their way to assist us in any way possible. The position was very convenient.
SummaryI can't rate this hotel highly enough. It offers superb value compared with chain hotels and provides a much better service. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was absolutely spotless. The accommodation isn't luxurious, but then that isn't to be expected at this price in central London.
