Room was very basic, but the staff were so helpful and went out their way to assist us in any way possible. The position was very convenient.

Didn't expect much given the price. But the quality of room still doesn't meet the expectation. The facilities are old and the toilet are tiny. The reception staff at night was friendly but the guy during the day was not helpful at all.

I was able to get my ensuite single room for only £50 and it was tremendous value for money. Never expect a large hotel room in London for under £200 - this was small, but it was just enough. Bathroom wasn't new but clean and functional. The staff make this hotel special - they go out of their way to be friendly and helpful whenever possible. Definitely a terrific budget choice.

Must say I thought the Avonmore was excellent, as long as you know what to expect.Regularly stay in London around the Euston / Kings Cross area with groups, mainly for weekends away and have stayed in many places in the same area for this money or more and not had as good a stay.First of all, location. A few minute's walk from both KX and Euston, we arrived late on Friday night by train and was ideal for us to dump our bags and head off out.Loads to do in the area, plenty of bars and restaurants, which is what we were after, so that worked well for us, when you combine that with the great transport links.Had booked a quad room for 3 blokes to stay in and this was perfect for a no frills but pleasant enough stay. I don't think it would be somewhere I'd book for me and my partner, but for us, it was just about right, less than £40 a night including breakfast per person.Breakfast was pretty good, selections of cereals, fruit and fruit juices, then full English available with toast and tea and coffee as well. Not huge portions but more than enough to set us up for the day ahead. We'll definitely be going back.

Accommodation in London is not cheap bur this hotel was well situated for our needs. Reception was polite and efficient. Only minor drawback was the rumble of the tube. No plug in washbasin but plenty of hot water

This hotel is very good value for somewhere in a fairly central part of London, and within walking distance of St Pancras and King's Cross. The accommodation is no-frills, but clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly.

Friendly reception in the hotel and in a very convenient area, not too noisy. Lots of eatery's around about - Chinese, Indian, Italian, Veggie. Room was a single bedded with en-suite shower room, but miniscule, I've known bigger 2-berth caravans! If I outstretched my arm I could almost touch the other wall! All the decor, tiles, carpets, woodchip wallpaper was very tired looking and been painted over a million times. Towel supplied was quite ancient, and the usual wafer thin package soap and white sachets of shampoo. It was all relatively clean and although the room was cosy, it was only to spend a few hours in and watch a bit of TV. Bed was quite comfy although the heating seemed to be permanantly on (but it was cold outside). Breakfast was quite good, full English, extra toast if required, again friendly staff. All in all this was quite pleasant and was OK for the price (£55) so long as you are not expecting a 3/4 Star experience.

No frills. Small and basic but very friendly, clean and excellent value for money in a central location - just what we needed. Staff were very helpful and gave us a free upgrade in order to accomodate my elderly Mother and spare her too many stairs (no lift).

Very good value. There was a rumble from the underground trains and the view from the window was non-existent but these were the only two possible negative comments. For the rest it was very efficient service (unlike much larger hotels) and first rate for cost.

Stayed for one night, which was fine. Room a bit gloomy and cramped, but clean. Probably OK for a weekend if you just need somewhere to sleep. Nice quiet location, but good for public transport. Reasonable breakfast, freshly cooked to order. Friendly staff, Receptionist very welcoming.

I needed a cheap room for me and two friends to stay in for a night out in Covent Garden - we didn't get back until 4am but the reception is 24hrs so it wasn't a problem.. the room was certainly big enough for us all to get ready in (loads of mirrors!) and the beds were comfortable enough. We walked back from CG, my one friend had killer heels on so it took about an hour - perhaps a night bus would have been more appropriate! We never made it to breakfast (til 9am) as we decided another hour in bed was more important. No real problems with the place except we ideally could have done with parking.. but in central london to get that you'd be paying through the nose. 55 quid between the three of us was cheaper than a hostel, and we didn't have to share with strangers or wander down the corridor for a shower. I'd definitely use them again for a similar thing.

This is a clean, friendly hotel. Actually feels like an excellent B&B. Reception is 24hr and you leave the room key with them which was handy. Breakfast was excellent. Mine was a single room which was small, but clean and en-suite. Would definitely stay again.

The hotel building is in a good location...
The hotel building is in a good location, but it's shabby and not that clean. The sash window kept falling down, so had to be kept closed with a folded up magazine. This was during gale force winds and rain. UHT milk with on the tea/coffee tray was out of date. Sheets smelt dusty. I had to climb over a hoover and tools on the staircase to get down stairs and the next morning had to clamber over bits of wood on the stairs left by workmen. There was drilling outside my room when I first checked in, going on til after 6.30pm.The staff were very pleasant and friendly and the room was warm. Absolutely no complaints about the staff.I wondered if the staff had just taken over the hotel as it seemed to be in a state of transition? Perhaps it will be much better soon, as it is in a really nice crescent in London. But I think it's too much money for what is really a low standard boarding house or hostel, not a hotel.

Clean, warm, conveniently located for Euston, the staff were friendly and the breakfast was OK. There was sufficient space in the room but I paid £99. You won't get much for your £ in London.

I had to attend a conference near King's Cross, so I was a bit worried about the area. The area of the hotel was pleasant-looks onto leafy square. The service was v. friendly & helpful which made up for the cramped room, narrow bed & no lift. The bathroom was fine, almost as big as the single room. Should have been cheaper I think, perhaps £45 rather than £65, but the breakfast was quite good.

Can't complain. Service was friendly and efficient and for the central location with close transport links, it was very good value. Room was simple but clean and bed was a small double but comfortable. My room (14) was up in the loft of the building and I had a private bathroom which was across the hall, opened with my room key. No real problem but does not make midmnight toilet visit so easy. I think it might be the only room with this arangement. It does what it says on tin.
