Excellent location, good-sized living area and bedrooms, tiny kitchen!

A very pleasant stay in a fantastic location - everything on your doorstep, including the Tube.
A couple of small niggles. No welcome pack, as advertised, even when I asked (unless 4 sachets of coffee and UHT milk count as a welcome pack). The kitchen is very small, and missing some features I would expect at this price - dishwasher, cafetiere etc.
Otherwise a very comfortable and convenient place to stay.

Great location

My husband and I found this apartment very clean and in a great location. It's close to a tube stop that has two lines (District and Circle) which made it great to get around London. Also, there is a nice grocery store, Waitrose, connected to the tube station. The staff was helpful and promptly addressed our requests.
I did not give "quality of room" the highest mark because the kitchen is tiny. This wasn't a big issue for us as we brought cooked food from the store. This particular apartment had some traffic noise (it's on the second floor), but maybe I noticed it because I do not live in a big city.
Overall, we definitely would stay here again.

Much more convenient than a hotel

This was our third visit to the Avni - it's now our first choice for any visit to London. The service is friendly and efficient, our apartment was spacious and comfortable, and spotlessly clean; the daily maid service is a real boon. The location is extremely convenient - about 50 yards from the tube, a Waitrose and a boulangerie; we didn't eat out, but there were plenty of options nearby. Quick and easy transport links to the museums, galleries and West End.
One suggestion - a teapot and cafetiere would be useful.

Not as good as some

Outside of building looks impressive but a little worn and not that clean on the inside. had a tiny lift which hardly fit our pram in. good location though and staff were friendly.

Not great...

I was upgraded to a larger apartment, which was a promising start, but the good news ended there. Overwhelming smell of food in the reception area, which penetrated up to all floors and crept under the doors of the apartment. The bathroom didn't look as if it had been cleaned properly, the toilet didn't flush fully and the shower was stuck on boiling point. The actual bedroom was fine, and I didn't use the other areas.

A great appartment in a top location

I normally prefer hotels in order to use the gym but every now and then I will book the Avni when it isn't full. The one bed apartment I had was spacious, comfortable, well appointed with separate rooms. Very nice indeed. The location by Gloucester Road is spot on; busy, lots of shops, lively and very safe. A great stay.

Our stay at Avni No.1

The hotel was really close to the tube station and perfectly located for lesiure and business into Central London. The stay was really nice, and confortable. I found that the room wasn't very quiet and I was able to hear people walking in the coridoors early hours of the morning. I really enjoyed my stay and would definatly go again. Thanks.

Lots of Space, decor a bit basic

First bit of advice is take your passport or driving license - they ask for ID. If you're looking for lots of space, this is a great place to stay. We had a room each - I was upgraded to a deluxe one bedroom apartment which was huge for London and my sister had a standard one bedroom apartment which was also a good size. It was only 2mins walk to Gloucester Rd tube where there are lots of shops, a bakery, pharmacies etc. The apartments are clean but the decor is basic - the kitchen is well equipt if you like to eat in. They lack the WOW factor, but are good value for money at the Late Rooms price.

Good alternative to hotel

Accommodation is located a few minutes walk from Gloucester Rd tube. The reception area is manned all the time and we found all of the staff friendly and helpful. Even though we arrived well before check-in time our apartment was already ready and we had been upgraded from a studio to a 1-bed apartment. Everything was clean and tidy, the kitchen was well equipped and there was a flat screen, wall mounted TV in both the lounge and the bedroom. The bathroom was compact, to say the least, but it had a nice shower cubicle. There are supermarkets, shops, cafes, restaurants and a pub, with good food, just around the corner. We mislaid our suitcase key but the reception staff were on hand with a tough set of pliers to remedy the situation.

Disappointing – would not recommend

Fabulous location and pleasant enough accommodation, but that’s where the positives end. The air conditioning didn’t work and the bedroom was incredibly hot (even though it was February). Opening a window would have meant no sleep due to the street noise, had that not been drowned out by the incredible noise from the adjacent apartments. The walls are paper thin. Noise + heat = no sleep.

Appartment clean, modern, comfortable bed. Looks good but function spoilt by poor maintenance

Our first appartment was notable forall the positives above and wonderfully large fluffy towels but had unbearably hot, uncontrollble water in shower and bath (which had no plug). We were immediately upgraded to a one bedroom appartment which only had a shower, the showerhead of which was clogged by calcium deposit. I cleared this myself. The toaster did not work and was immediately replaced. The kitchen was basically equipped, with totally blunt knives, no scissors, roaster, casseroles, serving spoons or dishes etc. The cruet had no plugs in to hold salt/pepper! Assorted knives/forks/spoons and glasses. So overall was strong on appearance but let down by functionality, detail and maintenace. We would stay again as the situation is excellent but would bring some additional utensils of our own. We realise that many people do not care to self cater, but would have preferred to be able to do so more easily should we have wished. We understand the prices are much higher in season.

I booked this 1 bedroom apartment in Gloucester Road, and was very happy with the service and quality during my 4day stay. The location of the Apartment was Ideal, close to a number of shops restaurants and also 1 minute from Gloucester Road tube station.
The apartment itself was excellent and couldnt have asked for more for this price range.
The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful throughout the stay, and even would have my room key ready for me as soon as i approached the reception.
An excellent stay and would reccommend it to anyone looking for an affordable stay in central london for a short/ long stay.

An excellent alternative to a hotel in this part of London

Pretty faultless... for half the price of a good hotel in this area we found ourselves in a pretty spacious one-bed apartment, two decent TVs, very nice, well furnished rooms and good kitchen facilities. And who needs room-service in South Ken anyway?? - there's a Waitrose 1min away! Quick trip for tea/coffee/milk/wine and some breakfast stuff and you can eat / drink when you want without paying through the nose for it. Only stayed one night, for a wedding reception at the Natural History Museum around the corner - and the mass of space was really useful, no getting in each other's way whilst trying to change. Shower was bloody good too! Knocked a point off room quality because the sofa's were a bit tired and there was no Freeview on the big plasma in the sitting room - but, really, highly recommend this place. We'll come back and use it as a base for my partner's birthday in June if we can get it at this price again.

Great accomodation in London

For the price I was extremely pleased with this place. I booked a 1 bedroom flat and my only minor complaints were no toiletries when I arrived in the room (these were placed later) and slightly more compact dimensions than I was expecting given the pictures and floor plans on their website (it's still pretty spacious). Other than that, the staff were helpful, the location was excellent and I next time I'm in town for business I will almost certainly be staying here again.

A great alternative to a hotel in Kensington

My stay was for 5 nights in January.
The apartment was spacious with quality furnishings (these may need attention in next 2 years, as they were showing some signs of some wear and tear) and there was everything needed for a comfortable stay.
The Reception staff were extremley polite and actioned requests immediately. View from the front over looked the street (shops/premises), although noise was not an issue.
The only negative was that the bath/shower mixing taps were faulty and meant either a scadling or cool temperature. Hotel staff did come and fix it, but I was reluctant to meddle and kept to the temperature it was then set at.
The location was great. A 2 minute walk from Gloucester Road tube station with a Tesco convenience store and full size Waitrose next to it.
Thoroughly reccommend and will use again.

A great base for a London visit

Excellent convenient accommodation at a good price.
Pros: a minute or so from Gloucester Rd tube; pleasant staff; stylish apartment decor; good quality towels, toiletries, bedding; Waitrose food shopping close by.
Cons: my deluxe 1-bed apartment had a small bedroom with no room for a chair (not like plan on website); no bath & smallish shower despite space in bathroom; no teapot (teabag in a mug is not deluxe!); bedroom carpet badly stained letting down the "immaculate" claim on their website.
But considering the reduced rate I paid these are small niggles.

Great place to stay in South Kensington

I stayed here for 8 nights and would definitely return. The staff were unfailingly polite and helpful, the 1 bed apartment I was in was small but very nicely furnished and kept scrupulously clean, the bed was comfortable, kitchen sufficiently equipped, and the free WiFi allowed me to work from the suite during the day, including calls on Skype. Location is excellent - easy access from Heathrow (via Paddington) or direct on Piccadilly line to Gloucester Road. Best of all in walking distance of South Ken restaurants, Waitrose, and a 24 hour Tesco Metro. To note: The elevator is tiny and slow, so expect to use the stairs. There is a guest laundry with washer/dryer. South Ken is a major bus hub which is great alternate.

Lovely apartment, very modern facilities, well equiped kitchen, good size, fab shower, not too much road noise, great location 2 mins from Gloucester Rd Tube.
Would recommend to others and will stay there again.
Bedroom was set up as double on arrival (should have been twin) by the time I had got back down to reception to ask them to change it they had already realised and it had been delt with!!
Lovely comfy beds, feather pillows and duvets.
